This article is written to show you how the Theory of Good Society came about when I first visited Scandinavia many years ago in looking for a better country and assessed the six most advanced societies in the world. A good society must consist in Five Imperatives, namely, Liberty, Prosperity, Equality, Civility, and Security. Each Imperative is defined and composes of many variables. Value of each variable is assigned to each Imperative, the total values make up the score of that Imperative. The total values of the Five Imperatives make the final score of that society. The measurement is standardized and it can be verified. The total measurement or assessment of a society can signify whether that society is getting better or getting worse.

When I was a poor student working my way at a college in Los Angeles, I needed a cheap dentist. Through Yellow Pages and a phone call, I found a cheap dentist. I did not know the area or the neighborhood. I drove my old jalopy to the dental office, when I arrived and parked my car on the street, hundred pairs of black eyes focused on me. Suddenly I felt a sense of danger. I hurried to enter the dental office and saw the black dentist and all black patients and hurried to come out without doing any dental work. I hurried to drive my car away. As I left that neighborhood driving home, I felt a sense of relief. A black political preacher once said he did not feel safe to be around with black youth. As a contrast, in  1975 I conceived a theoretical framework on a good society when I visited Scandinavia the first time. In 1976 I was doing a follow-up project in Europe to assess the most advanced European societies (Denmark, Sweden, Norway, France, Germany and England)    where I completed  

    The Theory of Good Society. 

I was staying in a suburb of Copenhagen called Skodsborg. One day I was on my way to the railway station going to Copenhagen. When I was walking on the sidewalk between the bushes on right and left, a group of Danish children between 6-8 years old were walking in a row hand in hand towards me. Suddenly, without saying a word to each other, they realized they were blocking my passage way. They immediately changed their pattern of walking together from a row into a column and turned facing me on their right. They bent their bodies with left hands on their backs, and right hands extending with a ceremonial bow and good gesture making a way and waiting to let me pass.   How civilized and delightful these children were! They acted as one person without consultation. They were brought up in such a cultured way that they instinctively knew what to do and behave properly. They taught me the true meaning of civility. Let me give you another example that defines civility. Once I saw a gray-haired old man squatted down on the floor of a Shanghai subway train to pick up trash that littered by uncivilized passengers and put in a plastic bag to take out when he exited the subway. The old man was not a subway worker or cleaner. His voluntary behavior shames all those who litter. A civilized person sometimes has to do something beyond and above his duty. I have traveled extensively and widely and met and observed millions of peoples around the world, but I have never met children more lovely and beautiful than those Danish children. Won’t it be wonderful if one of those children (who are adults now) would identify himself or herself and contact me through the E-mail? In addition I can honestly say:   Norwegians are the most civilized people I have ever met in my life.  Once I was looking for a street address in Oslo, I asked a young Norwegian man who happened to be there. He offered to walk with me to lead me there because he said I might get lost. The test of civility is not how you treat the people you know, but how you treat strangers, people who are not important to you personally. You cannot define the ugliness of uncivilized behavior (incivility) until you know the beauty of civility. 

Shanghai is the most remarkable international city where you can meet peoples from many nations who came to study, work, live or visit. On November 18, 2014 it happened a beautiful Swedish girl came and sat next to me on a subway train. I could not help to reminisce those good and pleasant days when I visited and stayed in   Scandinavia.   The test of civility is not how you treat people you know, but how you treat strangers.  The Swedish girl and I were strangers, but we had a very pleasant conversation and we said goodbye in several languages. Perhaps we have something in common, she is Swedish and I like Sweden. She studies at a Chinese university in Shanghai while I am a retired professor promoting education of the masses on the Internet.  Stockholm has only 3 line-subway, and she likes Shanghai very much.   A civilized person is one you enjoy talking to and with; an uncivilized person you are afraid to approach and not interested in engaging any conversation. I wish to meet more civilized persons, and avoid uncivilized people. 

On November 14, 2014 I carried a heavy bag and I was worn out. I saw a man working on the street and asked him to help me carry the bag to the subway station. He willingly took my large bag and carried it up to the entrance of the subway station, I gave him a tip but he consistently refused until I finally placed the tip in his hand. Second thought I should have given the man more.   Here was a Chinese worker whose wages are among the lowest, and yet he was not greedy but very helpful. Years ago when I was in California, I saw an old woman carrying a load walking upstairs, an American boy came along and said to her, If you give me money I would help you carry the load. This Chinese street worker is perhaps more civilized, moral, and a better human being than many executives of Washington, Wall Street and Hollywood who are products of American Ivy League universities and they live a luxurious lifestyle. 

Do not get the wrong idea if a person is more educated, has a higher position, and in a better living environment – he will become a better and more moral and helpful human being. It dawns on me: To be a civilized and good person has something to do with human  character and choice, practically nothing to do with education, position and social status. 

Today (9/27/14) on a subway train I saw a pretty young woman in her twenties sitting across my seat. At a station stop, one old man entered and standing because there was no seat. Immediately the young woman got up and yielded her seat to him. So the young woman was standing there. At another station stop, came another old man who was standing because no seat was available. At one point the subway train jerked and the old man lost his balance and accidentally jabbed his hand into the young woman’s back part of her head so much so that she screamed. Realizing the old man was physically unstable, the young woman requested a young man to yield his seat to the unstable old man and did not blame the old man. Do you say the behavior of this young woman is a case of civility? More than that, it is simple goodness. I was refreshed by this lovely observation, and I say to you this pretty young woman is a pleasant model of a civilized and good person that I have not met for a long time, she is well qualified to be a member of the Good Society I envisioned in my theory expounded in this article.  

On my first trip to Scandinavia in 1975  in search of a better country than the United States of America, the concept of the Good Society was conceived through observations and deliberation and by 1976 the foundation of the theory of good society was laid.   A Good Society is a society made of five imperatives, namely Liberty, Prosperity, Equality, Civility, and Security. 

Liberty means freedom from tyranny.  

Prosperity means freedom from poverty.  

Equality means equal rights, equal opportunity, and equal 

treatment under the law – freedom from discrimination.  

Civility is freedom from barbarity, incivility and vulgarity.  

Security means freedom from fear of harm, threat and terror. 

A society is good or bad in proportion to the extent it scores on these five criteria or imperatives. One society may score higher on one criterion or imperative and score lower on the other four. A total score may give you a general idea how a society functions as a whole. A nation is counted as a society, although there are sub-societies exist within a society; in fact that is called community. Many communities make up a society within a nation. A sophisticated system of measurement can be designed and employed to evaluate any society at a given time whether it is good or bad, and how good it is or how bad it is. It is also possible to measure the same society which is better or worse in comparison to last year or previous years once the data are accumulated, analyzed and stored. A longitudinal study is possible based on accumulative annual data of that society. 

The measurement of a society focuses on the general condition or trend – that is what is generally true.   What is generally true about a society may not be individually true. For example, there is a DND syndrome in the Chinese society.  DND stands for Dirty, Noisy,  and Disorderly. But it is not true that every Chinese is dirty, noisy, and disorderly. It is equally true that many Asian, African and Latin nations suffer DND syndrome.  There are many cities in America that suffer severe DND syndrome.   My first time to Washington, D.C. was a cultural shock.   All characteristics can be identified as public acts or acts of individuals in public. For example, littering is not a private act, but a public act. When you see people spit, litter – and you see trash, wastepaper, or garbage lying scattered about, and litters such as cigarette buts, paper cups, plastic bags, soft drink cans, etc. on the streets, you can generally and safely conclude that the people are dirty. A place is not clean or dirty by itself, people make it so. Another example, based on facts you can conclude America has a violent culture and American society is a violent society.  The headline on Friday April 3, 2009 read: Gunman Commits New York Massacre in Immigration Center where immigrants were taking a citizenship exam, killing 13 people before committing suicide. This was one of countless and senseless incidents. On April 4, 2009 a gunman lying in wait killed 3 Pittsburgh officers and turned a quiet Pittsburgh street into a battlefield. The American dream became a deadly dream. American politicians continuously make guns easily available, and so deaths and destruction will continue in a senseless way. The gun lobbyists rule America just as other interest groups do. Rampage becomes the American way of life. But you cannot say all Americans are violent. 

If you live in a bad society where there are more frauds committed than the stars in the sky, discrimination is a way of life, doctors and hospitals can bankrupt you any moment, crooks and criminals threaten you in all aspects of life, the flawed legal system does not protect you, the government serves the interest of the few, you feel the nation is on the wrong track but you are helpless and hopeless, and you are desperate if you are unemployed, you live in fear every day – – the days are evil. It was also reported that the rich and powerful founder of Apple Company was so afraid that his daughter could be kidnapped.   What is the use of money and power and the so-called richest and most powerful nation on earth, if you live in fear daily?  What is the use of the sole superpower that can destroy the world but cannot protect its citizens from harm by crooks and criminals and terrorists?  

Detroit officially went bankrupt on July 19, 2013. Why Detroit went bankrupt? They may be the following reasons: 

(1). Debt 

(2). Corruption 

(3). Fraud 

(4.). Waste 

(5). Mismanagement 

(6). Affirmative Action 

(7). Crime 

American leaders live well and enrich themselves and special interests at the expense of the public. American leaders are doing everything possible and incessantly spending what the government does not have in heavy borrowing with huge deficits and biggest national debt.

A misguided son of a pastor who misstated “Capitalism is about seizing opportunity. A lot of people get more opportunities than others, but a lot of people aren’t seizing it.” What kind of working market-economy when Wall Street executives and bankers created the largest economic and financial crisis in 2008 that looted the world more than  $50 trillion?  Not only those who were responsible were not prosecuted and sent to prison, they were bailed out by taxpayers‘ money, in addition of excessive compensation they received billions in annual bonuses. Bonuses used to reward successes, beginning in 2008 bonuses were used to reward failures and irresponsibility. A simple-minded person does not know where opportunities come from. Under American capitalism, 99 percent of population works for the 1 percent. 
Over $35 trillion in the history of mankind on seeking military supremacy and world dictatorship while neglecting all their duties in doing what is right to serve the interest of the greatest number of American people. America is ruled by 1 percent of the population at the expense of the 99 percent. Detroit is a prime example of what  America is heading. Mountain of facts and evidence convince you to conclude America is not what a nation should be; America has been building a very bad society since the end of World War II. American society is certainly and clearly not a good society. Take a short drive in Detroit and see for yourself the real America. There will be many more cities like Detroit and many states going bankrupt also. This is what American leaders and politicians are so proud of capitalism, democracy, human rights, freedom, rule of law, security, etc. The United States exists for wrong reasons. America is definitely not a model for other nations, not a model for the world. Worst of all, American leaders are leading and helping Japan, rat and rogue nations, etc. in a coming war of aggression against China in order to rob China’s territories and loot China’s resources in the   South China Sea and the East China Sea.  The war of aggression will bring about a global nuclear war and holocaust. The United States of America is accelerating in the path of destruction and leading the world to destruction. 

When I was working my way at college, I had to pay income tax for the meager $3,000 I earned in a year, but a Rockefeller who earned $23 million did not have to pay one penny for his come tax. Do you call this democracy? The American system represented by democracy and capitalism is working for the few rich and powerful at the expense of the vast majority. You become an outsider in your own country. Capitalism is incompatible with Christianity because it is driven by greed or the love of money, and democracy is the biggest lie because it serves the interest of the few.  Obama was not a millionaire before he became the president, he is now a multi-millionaire not because of his salary. Congressmen and senators have power to give themselves raise anytime. There are still so many gullible Americans who  have been cheated and fooled not realizing the U.S. government does not work for the good of the greatest number of people. The American government serves the special interests. Special interests rule and run America. 

I． LIBERTY 

1.  Liberty is defined as freedom from tyranny. 

There are many sources of tyranny: the government, the rich, the powerful, the terrorist, the corporation, the crook and criminal, etc. Liberty is the most basic freedom, without it there is no guarantee of life and property. Corruption, cronyism, and abuse of power are the biggest threats to liberty, prosperity, equality, civility and security of citizens. Corruption is like a tumor to a body, the political body of nation decays or dies because of corruption. Wherever there are corruption, cronyism, and abuse of power – people lose confidence in the government. A dysfunctional government is no better than anarchy. Abuse of power threatens the liberty of the people. A good leader must cut back on central government expenditures and the bureaucracy. The bigger the government, the less liberty the people enjoy. 

2. A flawed legal system is the number one threat to liberty. 

As Jefferson said, law is often but the tyrant’s will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual. Not only that, a bad legal system threatens and blackmails the people. It becomes legal terrorism   used by officials, lawyers and immoral people to sue others without cause, and to bankrupt decent people by legal fees. The fraudulent, predatory and excessive healthcare charges by doctors and hospitals are the greatest financial threat to most Americans. For decades American doctors, dentists, surgeons, hospital owners, drug and insurance companies, medical suppliers, etc. work like an organized syndicate that sucks the blood of American people and bankrupts millions of American families with impunity. The U.S. government even knows these evildoers have defrauded trillions all these years through frauds committed in Medicare and Medicaid in an accelerating rate. 

Freedom of expression and political freedom and human rights become meaningless when you live in fear daily threatened by crooks, criminals and terrorists. For example, voting right is often meaningless to exercise. The only American president who deserved my vote so far was Richard Nixon. I campaigned and voted for Ronald Reagan because Jimmy Carter was so bad and useless. Then Reagan made an unconscionable statement that the homeless people lived on the streets by choice; I did not waste my vote on him in his second term.   You always have to vote for lesser evils – that makes voting almost meaningless and useless. In America you must choose between the Republican Party or Democratic Party and register. When you realize   both parties do not serve the interest of the American people,  voting becomes an exercise of futility. Independent is not a party or choice or entity, it is a misnomer. So the two-party system virtually works as one party of monopoly. 

The government is useless if it cannot protect you when crooks blackmail and defraud you (ID fraud, false accusation, false claim, false charge, false documentation, false presentation, etc.), and criminals rob and rape and mug you, and when terrorists can kill you (by bombs and guns) anytime and anywhere. What people want is the right to live; not to be harmed, blackmailed, discriminated, defrauded, exploited, oppressed, repressed, suppressed, threatened, or killed. 

For a terrorist who killed 77 persons and wounded more than 100, the maximum penalty will be 21 years of imprisonment would be a great travesty of justice. The criminal justice system in reality invites and encourages criminals to do evil.   Death penalty is the only appropriate punishment for all murderers and killers.  It is cruel and illogical that the life of a mass killer is worth more than the lives of 77 innocent persons. It is time for  Norway  to reinstate death penalty. The abolition of death penalty will inevitably invite more mass murders of this sort.  Any nation which is lenient to mass killers and murderers at the expense of innocent lives by definition cannot be a good society. 

3.  A proper government restrains itself from diminishing individual liberty. 

A proper government, for Jefferson, is one that not only prohibits individuals in society from infringing on the liberty of other individuals, but also restrains itself  from diminishing individual liberty. A good government should be a terror to the lawless, and protection to the law abiding. 

4.  Government exists by consent of the governed. 

The people must retain sovereignty over the government.  People sovereignty can only be exercised through general referendum. When the majority people cast a vote of no confidence in any branch of government, that branch of government is dismissed and a general election is called for. When the majority people cast a vote of no confidence in any official, elected or appointed, that official is automatically and immediately removed. A general election is called for to replace that official. Many people fool themselves, there is not one country under Heaven which has people sovereignty.

5. The structure of the American government, composed of the executive, legislative and judiciary branches is inherently and practically flawed. 

Impeachment is a useless and costly and ineffective process. An elected president can do any evil in his term because of partisan politics and he cannot be removed until the next election. The  executive branch runs amok with so many self-serving departments and agencies. The legislative branch composed of senate and the house of representatives created little kings and dictators serving themselves in extravagance. For example, congress can vote to raise their own salaries and benefits, make rules on gifts, ethics, etc. without people’s consent The Supreme Court is an ivory tower of old people whose opinions lose touch with reality. For example, freedom of expression is used to cover and defend unsavory and uncivilized acts such as pornography of children, burning flags, same-sex marriage, etc. Supreme Court justices must not be appointed for life.  The tenure of Supreme Court justices must be based on performance and approval of the people.  The house of representatives should be abolished and consolidated by unicameral legislative branch called senate. Each state is entitled to have one senator no matter how small is the population; with each five million population the state is awarded additional senator. By National Referendum, people can remove even the president. The ultimate power of the people in the form of national referendum checks and insures the government and officials perform their duties and responsibilities and they are held accountable and liable. 

Jefferson wrote: 

We hold these truths to be sacred & undeniable; that all men are created equal & independent, that from that equal creation they derive rights inherent & inalienable, among which are the preservation of life, & liberty, & the pursuit of happiness; that to secure these ends, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed; that whenever any form of government shall become destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, & to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles & organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety & happiness. 

6.  Whenever any form of government shall become destructive of people’s will and wishes, it is the right of the people to alter and abolish it and to institute new government to serve the interests of the greatest number of people. 

For a long time, America, has been serving the interest of the few at the expense of the greatest number of citizens.

The Bible says:  

Psa 34:14 , “Depart from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.” 

Note: This is what a good leader should do. 

II.   PROSPERITY 

1.  Prosperity is the freedom from poverty. 

The job of government is to insure a fair, reliable and workable economic and financial system that effects a decent living for all people. The current economic and financial crisis is indicative of a failed and corrupt capitalism where the few can defraud the public in trillions of dollars; where a few can make several billions a year while millions still earn $7-$10 an hour. When I started to work my way, I earned $1.25 an hour.  The American economic and financial system servers and enriches the 1 percent of population at the expense of the 99 percent. The people (employees) make so little because executives make so much. The executives make so much because the employees (people) make so little. The legal and health care systems suck the blood of the American people about  $6 trillion   dollars a year with impunity. The Bible says:  Pro 11:18, “The wicked earns deceptive wages, but he who sows righteousness gets a true reward.” Clearly, the executives who managed their firms into bankruptcy and still be paid with bonuses in billions of dollars are earning deceptive wages. The American corporate model is a corrupt and bad model of exploitation and oppression. Only by overhaul of the economic and financial system can the benefits of prosperity bring upon the greatest number of people. 

Note: Deceptive in Hebrew is sheqer which means false; wrongful; vain; deceitful; fraudulent; sham; dishonest; invalid or indecent; – which occurs 115 times in the Old Testament. Earn in Hebrew is `asah which means to make. The wicked does not earn wages, they make deceptive wages. When corrupt and crooked doctors and hospital owners defraud and overcharge patients, they make deceptive wages.

2.  The former and current malefactors of great wealth –the richest men in history are not honest and decent people. 

It is the duty of government to stamp out  monopolies, oligopolies and frauds  of all kinds. It is necessary to abolish non-profit status and tax foundations, charities, religions, and institutions. Inheritance of assets worth more than $10 million or more should be taxed. 

Individual income of $50,000 or less a year should be tax free. Business income of $250,000 a year is also tax free without deductions and exemptions. 

3. Fraud is a great threat to prosperity because the few defraud the means and resources of the majority. 

Complicated subprime, hedge funds, derivatives, credit default swap, toxic assets, etc. are instruments of fraud used by the smartest crooks and criminals in the world trained in most prestigious universities. Anyone who defrauds accumulatively $2 million or more should be executed and all assets seized to pay the victims or the Treasury. The worship of money is not conducive in building a good society. Norway is the only nation on earth which has achieved a status where poverty no longer exists. China by 2021 has also eliminated extreme poverty of 770 million peasants. Official corruption is probably the greatest fraud that robs the people and nation.  Chinese businesses are usually more honest. When I first went to China in 1985 the morality of Chinese people was so high that they would not even defraud or overcharge you ¥1. Since then American greedy capitalism has infected China severely and the morality of Chinese people has gone down rapidly. Today there maybe some Chinese crooks who would defraud you gladly for millions of dollars and laugh at it as an achievement. A small example for your information: 

On April 15, 2013 I went shopping at Shanghai Yuyuan Garden at the basement of a commercial building. The woman shop owner said, Panasonic Rechargeable Shaver (ES-RW30) is sold outside at   ¥400-500; she sold to me for  ¥350. To my shocking I discovered the same Panasonic Shaver is sold at   ¥299 at Carrefour Supermarket. Yuyuan shops do not give receipt and do not refund. I called the male store owner and he would not acknowledge it was a lie and would not give refund. Carrefour already makes a profit of the Panasonic Shaver at the price of   ¥299, the dishonest woman on top of it defrauded extra profit of ¥51.  Sadly, man would be willing to go to Hell for a lie of ¥51. The lesson learned: It is not wise to believe what Chinese merchants say. You should know the product and the price before you buy. Carrefour probably would be a good reference point of price comparison.  I bought a scale from the store of a woman. The battery needed to be replaced, the woman said 8 yuan a piece; I bargained for 5 yuan, she said no on account it was a good quality battery. Then I found out and bought a set of five of the same kind battery for only 5 yuan, which is 1 yuan a piece. I returned the 8 yuan battery intact (without use or open) ten minutes later for refund; the woman refused and claimed hers was superior, although it was the same kind. How China has changed!   The China I knew in 1985 is not the China I know today. Can a human go the Hell for lying for 8 yuan? Over the years I have discovered people in government and business regularly and habitually lie. Even people of small business lie. This is what 

Jesus says,  Mat 5:26 , “Truly I say to you, you will not come out of there until you have paid up the last cent.” 

Note: Cent in Greek is kodrantēs, which means in the New Testament a coin equal to one half the Attic chalcus worth about 3/8 of a cent. In business, a woman was willing to lie for 8 yuan. How sad it is! How cheap is the human value!  Wall Street in 2008 economic and financial crisis cheated $50 trillion. Corrupt doctors and hospital owners and other healthcare providers annually and routinely cheat billions or trillions of dollars. 

I have many white American friends who did not know and they were surprised and shook their heads when they learned Eisenhower, Kennedy and Johnson threatened China with atomic bombs. This one thing my white American friends will never know: I have known many persons of different races and nations who were honest and decent peoples in their countries. After coming to America, they were absorbed by American culture of greed, love of money, and obsessed with power and sex.  This is just one of many outrageous examples I want you to know. One Vietnamese woman who opened a travel agency in Orange County sold me a bogus airline round trip tickets to China. Luckily I checked with Air China first to see if my name was on their list for the flight to Beijing on a certain date. I was shocked to find out my name was not on the passenger list on the departure date. The Air China manager was so angry and requested that I faxed the tickets to her, and she threatened to take the business license away from that Vietnamese travel agency which issued bogus airline tickets. How many crimes and sins are committed for the love of money, power and sex everyday in the United States – the land of opportunity! 

Salute to Russians. 

I believe only a great people can make a great nation. There are many outstanding characteristic demonstrated by Chinese of this generation who will be able to restore the past glory and greatness of China in assisting the Chinese government on the noble task of rejuvenating and revitalizing China. However, China needs to provide better education for Chinese people on how since the infamous Opium Wars the American imperialist and Japan have oppressed and suppressed China; and also provide universal scientific and technical education for the masses. A thousand years ago, China had the most advanced and glorious civilization on earth. A thousand years later, China can achieve the most advanced and glorious civilization once more time. In parallel to this I salute the Russians for their outspoken values and courageous efforts in fighting official corruption. There are many positive points I wholeheartedly agree with the Russians.  

(A). Russians disapprove of bureaucrats’ wealth. 

A majority of Russians are increasingly intolerant of the wealth of government officials – riches which they see as connected to the embezzlement of public funds. Chinese people should demand the same from all Chinese officials – from the lower to the high ranking. In America, things are more complicated because there has been a symbiotic relation between Washington, D.C. and Wall Street from the start, an adulterous liaison between government and business and industry due to long practice of capitalism. The fastest way to become rich in America is to be elected the president. High ranking officials of all administrations have become multi-millionaires on account of influence peddling and lobbying. Even multitudes of bureaucrats make very good living for hardly doing anything. There is parasitic existence in American bureaucracy in addition to the insidious corruption. Russians serve as model citizens of all nations to disapprove bureaucrats’ wealth acquired by power and position. In many nations corrupt people seek positions and power in government solely for the purposes of self-enrichment and self-interest and self-advancement.  

(B). Russians call for lower salaries for government officials. 

I cannot say whether the demand is appropriate or not, because I do not have sufficient knowledge of Russian economy, cost of living, etc. in relation to salaries of Russian officials to make a judgment. But something is ominous because the perception of Russians and at least most Russians think their officials make too much money. I believe and know American officials not only make too much money, the whole American bureaucracy (federal, state, agency, county and city) is overpaid for their salaries, benefits and pensions – it is one of the many reasons for causing huge budget deficits and greatest national debt. People of executive, legislative and judicial branches of government enjoy almost free healthcare and medical benefits at public expense. They do not seem to know or care that the American healthcare system is monopolistic, predatory and fraudulent that robs ordinary Americans of their life savings and has bankrupted millions of families. Among other things, one bad thing is the practice that in the U.S. Congress, representatives and senators vote and approve their own salaries and increases, not the American public. There is another black hole in government is the travel expenses incurred by high and middle elected and appointed officials. They enjoy luxuries at people’s expenses.  The wages, benefits, and special rights and privileges of former American presidents and families should also be reduced accordingly. The U.S. government should fund no presidential libraries.

(C). Russians make a direct connection between high-paid government jobs and crime. 

It has been my belief that ministers and preachers who live a life of luxury are indecent because the Lord lived a poor simple life on earth.  

Mat 8:20, “Jesus said to him, “The foxes have holes and the birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.” I consider it a sin for a minister or preacher to eat a $1,000 dinner, or to wear a $10,000 suit, or to drive a Mercedes, or for a minister’s wife to wear a mink coat worth $30,000. Unless a government official (elected or appointed) is rich on his own money, it is indecent to live a life of luxury. No government officials, elected or appointed, should be able to live a life of luxury based on his salaries. Apparently, luxury must be connected to high-paid government job and corruption.  

(D). Russians disapprove distant and arrogant government officials. 

In America there is a product of universal propaganda called public servants. You must be stupid or naïve to believe all American officials (elected or appointed) are public servants. Many of them are lords and masters  of the people. Once I heard an executive reporting that he spent  $4,000 to have breakfast with a U.S. senator. This is not a boast: I would not have breakfast with that senator even if I were paid $4,000 dollars. Why? You should not associate with corrupt officials to share their sins. The problem of many nations is the fact it is very difficult to remove a bad and powerful official. The American impeachment process proves to be costly, ineffective and useless waste of public money. There is one measure to remove arrogant and abusive officials that is through general referendum. If 51% of citizens cast a vote of no confidence against an official, he or she should be removed and replaced at once. In many government agencies and departments, you often encounter crude and rude lower black personnel. The federal government in Washington, D.C. is well-known for being staffed with overwhelmingly majority of low level black incompetent personnel.  

(E). Russians demand or favor a cap on incomes for those who wish to work for the government. 

Capping the incomes of government officials is a sensible requirement in managing a government under any form or system. However, bad people will seek a loophole in any rule or regulation, system or law. They will seek the top bracket of incomes available. If every official is paid at the maximum income allowable, then the cap becomes obsolete and useless. It takes good people to make a government work. For instance, if the meals allowance for a government employee on travel is $100 a day, you can be sure everyone will claim the $100 a day allowance.  

(F). Russians want all property of government officials to be declared. 

I believe this is also required of American government employees regarding stock ownership. You are not allowed to investigate or prosecute or regulate a certain firm while owning a number of shares of that company. This is known as conflict of interest. However, not all government employees of high and middle level disclose their personal wealth or private assets. The top level officials of the three branches of American government should disclose all the wealth and private assets (including stocks, real estate, bank accounts, antiques, jewelries, etc.). For example, if a man is elected the president of the United States with total assets of $750,000; it is impossible before he finishes the four-year term to become a multi-millionaire worth $20 million. No official in whatever capacity be allowed to make decisions on a business or project or program that will financially and otherwise benefit himself. In a culture of special relation between Wall Street and Washington, there are many ways that a high ranking government official can get rich by many means corrupt or not, legal or not.  

(G). Vladimir Putin is the capable and smart Russian leader. 

This is an opportunity for Vladimir Putin to become a great Russian leader of all times because the time is right and the problem of Russian corruption is great. If Mr. Putin does a good and great job in getting rid of official corruption, he will earn himself a secure position in Russian history. By the same token the strategic cooperation between China and Russia will withstand aggression and domination attempted by any power. From the start I said the American Occupy Wall Street movement would fail because it did not have a leader, a goal and program action. Russia has an able leader, and I wish Putin and Russians well. The citizens of all nations should follow Russians in demanding a clean government free of corruption. 

4.  It is high-sounding but hollow to say: “Washington balks at surrendering real power over its economic life to international bodies it does not control.” 

Oh, my goodness, the financial and economical and political and military problems are all made in the U.S.A.  For too long, the United States has tried to control the whole world but failed to control itself. Who is responsible for American fiscal irresponsibility? Who is responsible for American budget and trade deficits? Who is responsible for American mountain high of national debt and massive borrowing? Who is responsible for printing money and dropping of dollar, etc.? Who lets    Wall Street crooks and criminals create the economic and financial crisis beginning in 2008 that looted the world more than $50 trillion? If America has done a good job in controlling itself, why would it be in such as mess today? It was American leaders and politicians and bureaucrats, Wall Street, bank, mortgage, insurance, and big firm executives, doctors and hospitals, lawyers, etc. who were bringing American economy to ruin in the pursuit of their own selfish interests and insatiable love for money and power.   American problems are all made in the U.S.A.    – to put the blame on others or other nations is immoral and dishonest and evil. The United States is facing its worst economic calamity of its own doing.   Every government is responsible for the condition of its nation.   The exception to the rule was when Japan attacked China. Even Chinese government then was also partly responsible, for a strong nation would have deterred aggression. 

The problem of the world today is not any country or any system is threatening the national security of America, the problem of the world is the fact for the last 500 years or more European imperialists, colonialists and capitalists had oppressed many countries and peoples in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. The United States after World War II became the sole superpower. America and its allies since the end of World War II have dominated and dictated the world, committed so much evil and injustice in the forms of unjust wars of aggression and bloody military interventions, exploited the whole world, and monopolized in economy, finance, trade, diplomacy, currency, military, industry, technology and every field. The United States and European allies and Japan attacked China in the infamous Opium Wars, killed Chinese and occupied some parts of China, robbed and looted China’s national treasures at the market value worth more than US$100,000 trillion dollars. These millions of Chinese treasures but stolen goods are now in display at American, European, Japanese, etc. public museums and private collections. The White Supremacists (Americans and Europeans) used to despise and look down at China and Chinese people. Now the peaceful and spectacular rise of China from abject poverty in the short period of 30 years under the leadership of great Deng Xiaoping has become the number 2 world economy. These White Supremacists are now jealous of China’s great achievement and with fear they spread the lie of China threat and Russia threat. American and Europeans leaders want to maintain the status quo of dominating and dictating the world. So the USA, NATO, EU, Canada, Australia, etc. are showing open hostilities toward China without reason and making false accusations such as calling the COVID-19 the Chinese virus and ludicrously and maliciously want to sue China for compensation… 

For a long time, America, has been serving the interest of the few at the expense of the greatest number of its citizens.

5.  The ultimate test of a nation is not leaving mountain of national debts to the generations to come to pay off. 

The success of a nation is to create national wealth and stability for future generations.  For this reason, the government must practice fiscal responsibility, reduce the national debt and budget deficit, eliminate pork and earmark legislation, reform welfare, change foreign policy of war to peace, make inmates earn their room and board, etc. To use America as an example, by reducing the size of federal government by 3/4,  closing all overseas military bases and disbanding NATO, reducing Medicare and Medicaid by 1/2, reducing the Pentagon and State department by 3/4 , etc. America can become prosperous again. Just as a good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, good leaders of a nation must create and leave wealth and order to the people, not leaving enormous deficits and debt and decay to the people and their children. (Pro 13:22 ) To spend trillions of dollars and support executives who caused the economic crisis with billions of dollars by borrowing and printing money is not the right path to prosperity. Further,  the American national debt has exceeded $31 trillion dollars.

Pro 18:5 , “To show partiality to the wicked is not good, nor to thrust aside the righteous in judgment.” 

6.  The single most important factor in measuring prosperity is income as compared to cost of living. 

For that reason, income per capita and average hourly earnings have very limited significance. Income per capita can be pulled up by a few Wall Street funds managers who earn several billion dollars a year; and the same applies to average hourly earnings. Income per capita is not as significant as income of most people, and most people must be explained in percentage of all workers combined. Just income alone without putting cost of living in perspective has little meaning. For example, won’t it be wonderful if most people (say 80% of worker population, excluding children who do not earn) have an annual gross income of  $100,000? 

However, if the model of cost of living breakdown as listed below is real, then it will tell you a meaningless and miserable story:

According to report, in February 2011, average hourly earnings rose by a single penny, to $22.87, from $22.86 in January. Average hourly earnings are the most meaningless income indicator. There are a few individuals who earn several billion a year in Wall Street. If you put these individual earnings into hourly earnings and then average them among millions of American workers, they pull up the average hourly earnings.  Purchasing power is a useful concept which has direct meaning to income.  Since dollar has been dropping continuously for quite a few years, those who have fixed income and live overseas are hit with substantial income reductions.   Purchasing power parity must also be taken into account to apply the value of a currency. For example, if cataract surgery will cost you $3,500 in China but it will cost you $20,000 in America, the comparison of relative price levels become very meaningful. 

Value is culturally determined; a different value comes from a different culture . How much value you put on something is greatly influenced by how much a culture values something. For example,  virginity is precious in many countries, but in Western countries girls try to get rid of their virginity as if it were something undesirable. Something becomes transparent and even comical when different people put a price tag on a human. The U.S. government puts the new  $33 million bounty on al Qaeda top leaders head. By the same token, the enemies of America in Somalia offer their own bounty for Obama and Hillary Clinton –   10 camels for Obama and 20 chickens for Clinton. It is clear, of course, that the offer is greatly influenced by a culture that oppresses girls and women and so devalues them.  What you value yourself may be very shockingly different from what your enemies value you. Perhaps the U.S. should offer $33 for the top leaders of al Qaeda not only to save taxpayer money, but to effectively slight them.  There are some things so valuable that money cannot buy; for example, truth, justice and wisdom. 

III． EQUALITY 

Equality is freedom from discrimination. 

Discrimination is a direct violation of equality principle.  Equality does not mean everybody has equal income. Discrimination is a way of life in America. Americans practice many types of  discrimination. Racial discrimination is basic, comprehensive, pervasive, rampant, and systematic. There are types of discrimination which are deep rooted and most destructive.  

Educational discrimination is one which cuts off your future development and career opportunity. For example, a Chinese student with 4.0 was not admitted to a medical school, while a black man with 2.0 told me he was admitted to UCLA Medical School. Educational discrimination puts a glass ceiling on your future; you can go only so far. Top universities in America do not admit students on account of GPA and achievements or merit alone. One nurse told me she knew one female medical student admitted because her father and brother were already doctors at the hospital although her GPA was not good enough. 

Employment discrimination restricts your potential at the present. Without a job, you do not have income. Without income, you do not have means of livelihood. Without means of livelihood, you are poor. Poverty keeps you down and miserable for the rest of your life. Employment discrimination is like cutting off your water and power. A most subtle form of job discrimination is the practice that good-paying job is not available for certain races; only hard and undesirable jobs are available. That discriminatory situation can make a professor a dishwasher or driver. Promotion and recognition can be forms of employment discrimination. For example, an educated, experienced and capable Chinese is not promoted to be the manager or executive, while his supervisor a white man is less qualified with no skills. I used to work for a big corporation; a white man who was a veteran was hired as the manager although he never developed a policy or procedure in his life. He made a statement there was no one in his department who knew how to develop policies and procedures except me, and so every morning he shook hands with me when he arrived at work. Or a black man is promoted because of Affirmative Action. You can verify how many blacks got into good government, business and industry positions on account of Affirmative Action. It is still true in America; there is a glass ceiling for Chinese and other minorities and women for top position. Promotion can also discriminate other white persons. I have known some more qualified and able white persons who did not get promoted on account they were not members of the in-group. Corporate power politics is so rampant in America where vice presidents grab power and budget and select only people they can trust as their lieutenants. No matter what color or race, you are day dreaming if you believe corporation is putting out red carpet in welcoming you all because you got the qualifications and abilities.  

Legal discrimination is using law to select some and reject others and treating some racial group with special rights and privileges. Once I applied for a state job, three persons were selected as top candidates for the open position. I scored the highest, a white man second, and a black man third. Due to Affirmative Action the least qualified black man got the job. Some black business gets government contract or business loan is a form of legal discrimination. Affirmative Action is unfair and should be ruled unconstitutional because it is discriminatory in nature.  When a racial group is favored, all other racial groups are discriminated.  There is neither honor nor justice in Affirmative Action. 

Economic discrimination deals with financial transactions. It used to be in America Chinese could not own land or buy property. Even you have money;  you are not allowed to buy houses in certain white-dominated upper class neighborhoods. Some banks discriminate people by rejecting loans of certain groups. Some banks reject credit application of certain racial groups even though they are creditworthy. Without loan and credit, you cannot do business or expand business – this is a vicious way of restricting your opportunity of success. Equal opportunity does not mean you give credit or loan to everyone. It means everyone can compete on an equal footing. If you fulfill the requirement, you get the opportunity. There were many Chinese who got to be millionaires and billionaires the crooked way. They conspired with corrupt officials to rob the land of peasants at low prices and got huge bank loans to make real estate development and sell villas and high-rise apartments at high prices. Monopoly is a financial and economic discrimination. Those who own vital industries commit predatory practices. For example, in America healthcare industry is a monopoly, and doctors and hospital owners, etc. can charge and defraud the public with impunity. American healthcare system works like an organized syndicate, for that reason it is the most costly in the world and has bankrupted millions of families. Lawyers also practice monopoly in legal fees. Bankers commit predatory practices in paying hardly any interest while charging all kinds of unreasonable fees. Car repairs industry is another form of monopoly which rips off consumers. Government is the biggest monopoly and for that reason politicians, lawmakers, and officials tend to abuse power and misuse public funds to enrich themselves.  

Social discrimination has great ramifications. Exclusive club is a social discrimination. Professional association is not a social  discrimination. Boy scouts for boys and girl scouts for girls are not social discrimination. Rest rooms for men and rest rooms for women are not social discrimination. However, due to different body structure, there may need more female restrooms than male restrooms. Just take a look at the long line of females waiting would help you understand justice is not social discrimination.  In the past, blacks could not ride the same bus with whites or stay at the same hotel was blatant social discriminations. Some blatant forms of social discrimination have been outlawed. A heavy and rough and tough job for man should not be construed as social discrimination. Boxing is an uncivilized sport; it should be banned for both male and female. Whatever job which a female can do as well should not be a social discrimination. You might not believe but most nurses prefer male doctors over female doctors. Most male patients prefer male doctors including me in particular when the female doctor wants to examine your private part. For that reason, it is not social discrimination to have female obstetricians and gynecologists. I honestly believe primary school should not be overwhelmingly dominated by female teachers. A form of social discrimination is insulting in the way department store clerks pay attention to white customers and ignore others, or a restaurant waitresses do the same. It does not bother me if white people do not want to be friends with me for friendship is a private matter. In fact I rejected many white people who want to make friends with me on account of my education, knowledge and abilities. For the same reason I also turned down many Chinese because life is short and I do not want to spend my precious time with people I do not like. It is not social discrimination when a restaurant rejects service to a barefooted, dirty and sloppy customer. It is social discrimination when a member of a professional group is treated differently. I do not like the practice of some corporations: When it is the birthday of an important member within the department, they celebrate his/her birthday with a party or luncheon. They simply do nothing when it is the birthday of lesser important members. In fact, I would not anyone in a corporation to know my birthday and do anything about it. I keep my birthday private and I may not want to attend the birthday luncheon of party of other employees because in a big corporation there are many employees. I think it is proper for a corporation to give an annual Thanksgiving dinner and Christmas party for all employees and forget about individual birthday party. It is not social discrimination when business and first class passengers enjoy club rights and privileges.  To prevent someone who is qualified from renting an apartment anywhere is a social discrimination. 

Political discrimination is based on party affiliation and ideological belief. The most glaring example of political discrimination is the way the United States treats China with arrogance, aggression, provocation and negative attitudes manifested in words and deeds because China has its own political and social system. It is a lie for Carter to say America has pure democracy. Democracy is supposed to serve the greatest interest of the greatest number of peoples. American democracy serves special interests and is ruled by the few. For a long time American democracy has been serving the interest of the few at the expense of the greatest number of citizens. America, EU, NATO, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, etc. practice racial and political discrimination. Guilt by association is also a form of political discrimination. American supremacists and militarists call Putin a Hitler is an example of political discrimination.  

1.    Equality means equal treatment under the law, equal opportunity and equal rights. 

Equality never means equal salary or equal wealth. Equality does not mean an unqualified black student will get into a medical school with GPA 2.0. Affirmative action directly violates equality and therefore is illegal and must be abolished.  When a race or group of people is given special treatment or favoritism or special rights, it means other people are made unequal, abused, mistreated and violated.    The legal system which provides justice to criminals at the expense of the law-abiding citizens is very bad criminal justice system. Under a good criminal justice system, if you are guilty a dream team of defense lawyers would not be able to get you acquitted. If you are innocent, a troop of prosecutors should not be able to find you guilty. All genuine evidence should be admissible. Fake evidence presented by defense or prosecution should suffer consequences. Jury system has been corrupted; it should be replaced by three independent judges. The decree of the majority of judges stands. Capital offense should have one appeal at the accused expense. All convicts should work for their room and board without luxuries of law library, gym, etc. All death penalty must be executed within three months. 

George F. Will   (December 1, 2011）wrote, “A brief submitted by UCLA law professor Richard Sander and legal analyst Stuart Taylor argues that voluminous research refutes the legal premise for such racial classifications: They benefit relatively powerless minorities. 

“Academic mismatch” causes many students who are admitted under a substantial preference based on race, but who possess weaker academic skills, to fall behind. The consequences include especially high attrition rates from the sciences, and self-segregation in less-demanding classes, thereby reducing classroom diversity. Blacks are significantly more integrated across the University of California system than they were before the state eliminated racial preferences in 1996, thereby discouraging enrollment of underprepared minorities in the more elite institutions. 

Sander and Taylor report : “Research suggests a similar pattern nationally; scholars have found that the use of large racial preferences by elite colleges has the effect of reducing diversity at second-tier schools.” Another study showed that even if eliminating racial preferences in law schools would mean 21 percent fewer black matriculants, there would still be no reduction in the number of blacks who graduate and pass the bar exam. 

A second brief , submitted by three members of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights (Gail Heriot, Peter Kirsanow and Todd Gaziano), argues that racial preferences in law school admissions mean fewer black lawyers than there would be without preferences that bring law students into elite academic settings where their credentials put them in the bottom of their classes. A similar dynamic is reducing the number of minority scientists and engineers than there would be under race-neutral admissions policies. 

There are fewer minorities entering high-prestige careers than there would be if preferences were not placing many talented minority students in inappropriate, and discouraging, academic situations: “Many would be honor students elsewhere. But they are subtly being made to feel as if they are less talented than they really are.” This is particularly so regarding science and engineering, which are, as Heriot, Kirsanow and Gaziano say, “ruthlessly cumulative”: Students who struggle in entry-level classes will find their difficulties cascading as the academic ascent becomes steeper. Hence the high attrition rates.” 

Racial preferences are wrong even if they produce intended results because it is unfair and unlawful to give preference to any group of people based on race. Therefore,   Affirmative Action violates justice and should be abolished without delay. 

I differ strongly with the American media and people who declare M. L. King Jr.’s dream is only half-realized. I hold opinion that M. L. King’s Jr’s dream is the most dangerous and detrimental dream to black Americans. King’s dream is a nightmare to blacks and other Americans. MLK’s dream is not the American dream. Rights without responsibilities and morality guarantee to ruin any people. True, MLK had got many rights and privileges for blacks including Affirmative Action. Under Affirmative Action, how many undeserving and unworthy blacks got into high positions in government, military, business and industry, education, banking, media, medicine, law, sports, entertainment, etc. at the expense of injustice to other more worthy individuals. Why? Facts can substantiate this thesis. After spending more than $6 trillion dollars by federal, state and local governments in helping black Americans since the Johnson’s Great Society, the situation of black Americans not only has not improved, it gets worse and worse. Truth is offensive; but I stand only for truth and justice. Facts to prove it: 

(1).    The black prison population has increased, not decreased, since M. L. King, Jr. preached his political and social gospel. 

(2).   The population of black single-parent families and children without fathers has increased, not decreased. 

(3).    The population of blacks receiving welfare, Medicaid, food stamps, and other public assistance has increased, not decreased. 

(4).    The population of blacks involving in drug trafficking and drug addiction and prostitution has increased, not decreased. 

(5).    The population of unemployed and unemployable blacks has increased, not decreased. 

(6).    The population of black gangs and delinquents has increased, not decreased. 

(7).    The population of black student dropouts has increased, not decreased. 

(8).    The population of black women and black teenagers getting pregnant out of wedlock has increased, not decreased. 

(9).    Cities managed by black mayors are no model cities of good management, but models of corrupt governments; among many include Washington, D.C. 

(10).    M. L. King, Jr. was reported and certified by FBI not a morally responsible person; it is doubly bad for black people to cover up the sins and shortcomings of their leaders, politicians and preachers as if they were justified or can be excused or exempt.  

I wish black Americans well. Here are some suggestions for black Americans, in fact for any racial groups, who sincerely want to improve themselves: 

(1).    Do not expect what your country can do for you, do something right for yourself. 

(2).    Do not expect any right or privilege or special treatment just because you are black or minority, do your duty and responsibility. 

(3).    Do not expect anything be given to you free; earn everything you get the old-fashioned way. 

(4).    Do not rely on Affirmative Action; believe in the merit of your own action. 

(5).    Do not make people fear of your presence; make yourself a civilized and positive influence in your community. 

(6).    Do not believe crime pays; believe hard work, thrift and morality will benefit you. 

(7).    Do not excuse or justify yourself when you commit a crime and do something wrong on account you were born underprivileged or socially disabled. 

(8).    Do not discriminate against other races just as you do not want to be discriminated. Affirmative Action is inherently unfair and unlawful.   When a racial group is given special rights and treatment, all others suffer injustice. 

Michael A. Fletcher (December 6, 2011) reported, “The average income of the richest tenth of the population in OECD countries is about nine times that of the poorest tenth, the report said. The United States, Turkey and Israel have among the largest ratios between the incomes of those at the top and the bottom, roughly 14 to 1. Germany, Denmark and Sweden have among the lowest — 6 to 1 — but the ratios are up from the 1980s. The gaps in Chile and Mexico have been declining but remain the highest among OECD members, at more than 25 to 1. Overall, inequality among working Americans has risen 25 percent since 1980, the report said. In 2008, the average annual income of the top 10 percent of Americans was $114,000, nearly 15 times higher than that of the bottom 10 percent… The share of income going to the nation’s richest 1 percent more than doubled between 1980 and 2008, rising from 8 percent to 18 percent, the report said. The richest 1 percent of Americans make an average of $1.3 million in after-tax income, compared with $17,700 for the bottom 20 percent.” 

OECD Secretary General Angel Gurria said, “The social contract is starting to unravel in many countries. This study dispels the assumptions that the benefits of economic growth will automatically trickle down to the disadvantaged and that the greater inequality fosters greater social mobility. Without a comprehensive strategy for inclusive growth, inequality will continue to rise.” 

Reaganomics was wrong. Reagan was the president for the rich.  Among inequality the greatest is income inequality.  Income inequality makes equal justice impossible. In most cases, higher income does not mean higher education, qualification and ability. Wall Street funds managers can earn billions just by gambling on investor money. Whether they gamble successfully or not, they always make big money. Income should tie to productivity. In America, the most unproductive people earn the largest income. The reason doctors, hospital owners, dentists and lawyers are filthy rich is because of their monopolistic and predatory and fraudulent    practices with impunity. With the realization of the 1 percent of population controlling 99 percent emerged in America the Occupy Wall Street movement in 2011 and spreads to many nations.   The mass movement has failed because it did not have a strong leader of character and courage and without programs to implement and goals to achieve. The 1,000 richest Americans have more money than the 1 billion poorest peoples in the world.  To give tax cuts to the rich and powerful makes income inequality worse, and makes social justice impossible. 

There are many corrupt and wicked practices in every nation on earth. These corrupt and wicked practices are not peculiar only to China; however, to realize the Chinese dream or China dream, they must be eliminated by the power of law. Doctors, officials, teachers, managers and other professionals earn wages and they are supposed to do their duties. After they have done their duties, they should not expect and do not deserve to receive any   gift or present from the public. Doctors must comply with medical ethics and after they have performed surgeries, patients or family of patients have no need to send expensive gifts to doctors. For doctors, officials, teachers, supervisors and others to receive extra gifts or presents in addition to their salaries are corrupt and wicked practices.  Any professional or official who receives gift or present in relation to their position and job function should be fired and penalized severely by law. It is immoral, unethical, uncivilized and wrong for doctors, teachers, officials, managers, etc. to expect or demand gifts or presents from their subordinates or the public. China dream is to facilitate in building a clean and good society with truth and justice for all. 

Discrimination is a violation of equality principle. Racism is a form of discrimination. 

Racism is a fact of life in America. Racial discrimination in American society is a universal practice of many forms, including employment, promotion, education, housing, contract, social treatment, medical treatment, financing, business and industry, facilities, etc. Discrimination is not only a dirty word, it is an ugly deed. I have experienced and encountered white professors and classmates, corporate executives and administrators, government officials and lawyers, doctors and nurses, engineers and technicians, professionals and non-professionals, old and young, males and females, believers and non-believers, ministers and church members; etc. all my life. Usually white people exhibit a superior air of arrogance, a repugnant sense of racial superiority; those who discriminate treat others as inferiors and other Americans as second class citizens. This is the perennial dilemma of Asian Americans: although you were born in America or having lived in America all your life, the whites who think of themselves as native sons and daughters treat you like foreigners (outsiders) or second-class citizens. Although most blacks are descendants of slaves also think of themselves as natives and consider other minorities as foreigners. When blacks are in position of power, they exhibit even more virulent, vicious, pernicious and malicious form of racism. Most blacks in America act and talk as if they were entitled to special treatment. Some Chinese Americans want to avoid disclosure of their identity by adopting names such as Locke, Lincoln, etc. On surface, Chinese who use such names deliberately seek to identify with Caucasians. However, when they appear in person they cannot cover up their Chinese features and accent. God has given me very sharp ears. I can tell on the phone whether a person is white, southern white, black, Asian, Latino, European, Indian or Pakistani, etc. without seeing. Racial divide is very deep and destructive in America. Racism is a timed bomb sooner or later will explode in America in a deadly manner. I had watched two most brutal and deadly racial riots in Los Angeles. If you are a female minority, you may fare even worse – double discrimination. I have a female colleague who holds a CPA degree; all her supervisors including the V.P. of finance do not have a CPA. I advised her to ignore American discrimination as a fact of life and focus her life on something more worthwhile. If she dwells on discrimination, she would not be able to live a happy life. One of my most satisfied side-line experiences was to lecture at some major Chinese universities during my vacation. In America well educated and able minorities usually work for white supervisors. I know a Chinese American who applied for a state position: There were selected three most qualified candidates. The Chinese was the most qualified and best educated, the white was above average, the black was the least educated and least qualified of the three, but the black got the job. Racism and racial discrimination among other things are characteristics of a bad society. I believe in Scandinavia gender discrimination is almost non-existent among whites; I cannot say the same about discrimination against other races. 

2.   Extremism is an indicator of inequality, for example extreme wealth and abject poverty. 

Income disparity also reflects the gap between the rich and the poor, for example some individuals earn several billions a year while millions earn minimum wages. American capitalism is inherently corrupt. It produced the most blatant and greedy moneyed interest that created the Savings & Loan scandal some years ago, the infamous corporate scandal by firms such as Enron, etc., and the current economic and financial crisis started by Wall Street, bank, mortgage, insurance and big firms. The Bible says:  

Pro 28:21 , “To show partiality is not good, because for a piece of bread a man will transgress.” Greedy capitalists and supremacists for billions of dollars will sell their souls to the devil. 

3.   Regarding gender equality in terms of education, employment, income, social standing, etc.,   Scandinavia would score highest or the best in the world. 

When a nation achieves a high standard of civilization, gender, race, class, etc. would not even be considered.   The Scripture says:  

Psa 106:3 , “How blessed are those who keep justice, who practice righteousness at all times!” 

Note: Justice in Hebrew is mishpat which means right cause; right judgment; right measure; just verdict; lawful order; that which is just and lawful; administration of what is just and impartial; – which occurs 426 times in the Old Testament.  Righteousness in Hebrew is tsĕdaqah which means justice; righteous acts; truthfulness; justification; moral rightness; rectitude; acts of justice; virtue; – which occurs 167 times in the Old Testament. God demands peoples and nations to keep justice and practice righteousness at all times. Do you really believe the United States of America, or any nation, keeps justice and practices righteousness at all times? Let you be the judge. Open your eyes and see and hear what America is doing to the world!

IV． CIVILITY 

Civility is freedom from barbarity. 

It takes a lifetime to make this discovery: There are infinite ways that human beings can make themselves uncivilized and unpleasant; just as crookedness is unlimited. A little story will illustrate the point. Two Chinese girls went to study in America. The college assigned them as roommates at a dormitory. One was a self-conceited woman who acted as if she were a “princess.” She was so arrogant and looked down at everybody. She exhibited negative attitudes toward others. She was abusive and told other girls to do her bidding. The other girl was harmless like a lamb. As the Chinese saying goes, “A good horse is ridden, and a good person is bullied.” The ugly duckling would abuse the little lamb to do things for her, such as taking her underwear from washing machine, washed her dishes, brought her key or books, etc. She would also shout and yell at her. She was shamelessly mean and selfish and wanted to take advantage of others. For example the innocent girl rented a student car for transportation; she refused to pay her share and wanted a free ride. She was doing things her way at the inconvenience of others. She turned the heater so hot that the other girl could not breathe. She was so domineering that the other girl had to avoid her and sleep on a sofa at the student center. When a Chinese man who recommended her to college rebuked her for her unruly behavior, she reported to her father and her father called and blamed and yelled at the innocent girl. Like father, like daughter. There is also a Chinese saying, “The wicked makes false accusation first.” This unpleasant woman told the college authority that her roommate ruined her reputation by telling about her behavior. A rotten egg blames others for its stinking smell. 

Uncivilized behavior produces conflicts between individuals and nations. 

Conflict between two individuals produces consequences between two persons. Conflicts between nations produce consequences between nations. The conflicts of the world are manifested as follows: 

(1). The United States has oppressed and suppressed China since the infamous Opium Wars, looted China’s national treasures, robbed China’s territories and killed Chinese people. The West including Japan had robbed and looted China’s national treasures since the Opium Wars amounts to at market value US$100,000 trillion dollars, not counting years of interest. The United States intensified its hostilities against China in 1949 by sending the 7th Fleet to protect the defeated Chiang Kai-shek’s regime and thus prevented Taiwan from reunification with Mainland China. American leaders passed the illegal so-called US-Taiwan Relations Act in 1979 signed by Carter who is a self-proclaimed born again Christian to colonize Taiwan and sell costly and deadly weapons so that Chinese may kill Chinese. American leaders are so arrogant and abusive and oppressive that they think, speak and act as if they are the dictators of the world. The 1979 Taiwan Relations Act does NOT provide a legal basis for the unofficial and unholy relationship between the United States and Taiwan; it is only demonstrative and indicative of American aggression and provocation. Taiwanese leaders are traitors and running dogs of American imperialism. American leaders in 1971 violated China’s sovereignty by illegally giving administrative control of China’s Diaoyu Islands to the unconditionally surrendered war crime nation of Japan. America, UK, Australia, Canada, etc. financed the terrorists in Hong Kong trying to topple the Hong Kong government. America, EU, UK, Australia, Canada tried to create unrest and terror in Xinjiang by falsely charging China committed genocide, forced labor, abuses of human rights in Xinjiang.

There is not one American leader, politician, lawmaker, official and American media who tells the truth about China’s Diaoyu Islands. Adding insult to injury, crime upon crime and sin upon sin and iniquity upon iniquity, Obama declared to defend Japan against China. American leaders have more than 800 overseas military bases to target and encircle China. The United States deploys more than 65 percent of its armed forced in Asia Pacific in terms of fleets, aircraft carriers, nuclear submarines, war planes, radars, missiles and anti-missiles, and more than  330,000 troops stationed at China’s doorsteps intended to launch surprised attacks against China’s nuclear capabilities. 

American leaders since the end of World War II have killed millions and millions of innocent peoples around the globe in hundreds of unjust wars and bloody military interventions instigated and conducted by the U.S. American leaders have proven themselves to be liars and killers as defined by Jesus Christ as sons of the devil. Jhn 8:44, “You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” American leaders can never fool God. Although they had fooled the world before, they can no longer fool the world in instant news. American leaders do evil in a most hypocritical way. When American leaders want to expand to Asia Pacific they call it re-balancing Asia. Although according to its Monroe Doctrine, America has no legal right or legitimate interest in Asia Pacific.  The South China Sea, the East China Sea, the Yellow Sea, etc. all belong to China long before America, Japan, Philippines, Vietnam and all other nations existed. Just as America is for Americans, Asia is for Asians. American leaders, blinded by unholy ambition of world domination, get lost in the world; they apparently do not know their place in the world is in North America. American leaders are deceivers and dividers of the world. The blackest lie promoted by American leaders (and their running dogs) is the China threat theory. In fact, America is the no. 1 threat to the peace and security of the world since the end of World War II. The evil deeds done by American leaders since the end of World War II speak volumes against American leaders. Only God knows all the secrets, abuses, atrocities, evil deeds, violations of law, lies and murders committed by American leaders. American leaders are most skillful in distortion of facts. American leaders and its running dogs are the aggressors. Action speaks louder than lies. China does not attack any nation or occupies one inch of foreign territory. China does not have one overseas military base or single troop to target and encircle America. 

Chinese leaders and Chinese people must not be fooled by American delusion or illusion or pretending good will. All so-called military exchanges and cooperation are camouflage of American aggression and intention for China’s destruction. From Eisenhower, Kennedy, and Johnson to Obama – American leaders want to destroy China and seek opportunity and pretext to carry out their evil scheme. Only President Richard Nixon assured Chairman Mao that he would not attack China because Nixon sought a just and lasting peace for the world. 

(2).    Japan. 

The current prime minister   and   Japanese officials deny their war crimes, genocide of killing 50 million peoples (35 million Chinese and 15 million Asians), sex slavery of hundreds of thousands of Chinese and Korean young women, and unprecedented atrocities and brutalities committed in history of mankind. The Japanese leader could not answer the two simple questions: 

A. If Diaoyu Islands really belong to Japan,  why Japanese government had to pretentiously buy it? 

B. If Diaoyu Islands really belong to Japan, why Japanese government had to nationalize it? 

No nation ever bought and nationalized its own territory.  The thief has a guilty conscience to cover up his evil deeds. 

American leaders are arming and aiding to re-militarize Japan. Japan is expert in distorting facts and trampling on truth. Japan is changing its peace constitution into war constitution, making and selling weapons of death. American leaders are responsible for repeating the history of Japanese aggression and imperial expansion. American leaders are responsible for not executing the Japanese emperor who was the number one war criminal. American leaders are responsible if war breaks out between China and Japan. American leaders are responsible for incurring a global nuclear war if the U.S. defends Japan against China. It is a shame that the U.S. is on the wrong side of history in supporting Japan the war crime nation that revised history to whitewash its inglorious past and Japanese leaders who glorify and worship their convicted and executed war criminals enshrined as national heroes and true gods. America does not condemn Japan who irresponsibly dumps toxic nuclear waste and contaminated water into the Pacific. If you would count all the atrocities, brutalities and cruelties committed by Japanese troops in 14 years of war against the Chinese one by one, there may be trillions of them, only God can count them. The day is coming when the Righteous God will settle account with the pagan Japan.

(3).   Imperialism and terrorism. 

American imperialism and Islamic terrorism account for 99 percent of all troubles, problems, distresses, difficulties, injustice and atrocity, death and destruction in the world. Let American leaders and people wake up to the unthinkable facts why America must not have war with China: 

(A). The numbers are against America. 

America is able to kill 1 billion Chinese, but there will still be 400  million  Chinese worldwide. China is able to kill 350 million Americans, and there will be not one American left in the world. 

(B). America cannot conduct proxy wars against China. 

The war will not be fought in China or lands of American allies. China alone can launch massive nuclear retaliations  against mainland America by land, sea, sky and space that no missiles or anti-missiles can protect or save America from total destruction. Not to say Russia, Pakistan and other nations will not sit idle when they realize what is at stake. 

(C). There will be like one million 9-11 incidents taking place in America and one million Sodom(s) burning all over the United States; and all American vital interests worldwide will be destroyed. 

(D). There will be no winner, only losers  and the end of the world. Should Americans die for Japs? It is up to American leaders and people to decide. 

(E). It will be peace and prosperity if America abandons empire and gives up world domination and ceases to target and treat  Russia and  China as enemies. China is no enemy of any nation except some nations want to make China their enemy.  Bad leaders and warmongers and terrorists are behind all the problems and troubles in the world today. 

American people and peace-loving peoples of the world, your action or inaction will determine the destiny of the world. Choose life and not death! Jesus Christ is coming again soon to judge the world and reign with the saints forever and ever. 

The major premise, the minor premise, and the conclusion of the following presentation are Biblical and correct. 

1.   All Christians tell the truth. 

2.   You tell lies. 

3.   Therefore you are not a Christian. 

Jesus Christ defines liars and killers as children of the devil.   Jhn 8:44 , “You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” 

There is not one American leader, politician, lawmaker, and official who tells the truth about China’s Diaoyu Islands.  What is the truth? 

In 1971 the United States violated China’s sovereignty by illegally giving administrative control of China’s Diaoyu Islands to the unconditionally surrendered war crime nation of Japan.  

Is it possible that all American leaders and politicians are liars? God cannot be mocked, and the Word of God cannot be broken. 

Furthermore, American leaders have told   the blackest and biggest lie of the century by repeatedly saying China is a threat to peace and security in Asia Pacific. If China is a threat, how come China does not occupy or attack any country under any pretense? On the contrary, the United States supports Japan, etc. (who are American allies) to make false claims to China’s territories in   the South China Sea and the East China Sea in order to loot China’s resources.  

If Diaoyu Islands really belong to Japan, why Japan had to    pretentiously buy and nationalize the islands. No nation ever bought and nationalized its own territory. Why the United States has to say it does not take a position on the sovereignty of the islands? The thief has a guilty conscience. 

However, American leader Obama at first said the U.S. took no position on the sovereignty of Diaoyu Island. And later he changed and said America will defend Japan against China. The truth becomes clear and self-evident, some outsiders are the real threat to China and to peace and security in Asia Pacific. 

Why does the United States which is located in North America implement “pivot to Asia” policy? 

(1). According to American Monroe Doctrine, the U.S. has no legal right or legitimate interest to be in Asia Pacific. Just as America belongs to the Americans and so Asia belongs to the Asians. 

(2). The United States has abused, attacked, oppressed and suppressed China since the infamous Opium Wars, intensified in 1949 to the present. 

(3). The United States has many overseas military bases to encircle and target China with 65 percent of its armed forces including fleets, aircraft carriers, nuclear submarines, war planes, radars, missiles and anti-missiles, and more than 330,000 troops  stationed at China’s doorsteps pending to launch surprised attacks to destroy China’s nuclear capabilities. 

(4). The U.S. cannot compete with China in economy and finance and trade (the U.S. has huge annual budget deficits and the largest national debt in history of mankind exceeding $28 trillion) and so the U.S. out of fear and envy wants to destroy China to maintain its sole superpower status, dictatorship and domination of the world. 

(5).   The U.S. is the greatest threat to China and to the peace-loving nations of the world today, as well as the aggressor, the warmonger, the law breaker, and the international bully.  This is not a secret.

Truth offends people, in particular, enemies of truth. 

There are ample facts and proofs and mountain of evidence for  what the United States has done since the end of World War II. 

All the lies and murders committed by the United States are for the pursuit of absolute military supremacy and world domination. The price is costly and eternal, everlasting punishment in Hell. 

An Immoral Economic Theory and Practice brings America to the dire situation: 

(1).   Huge budget deficits and national debt exceeding $28 trillion  because America is held hostage by special interests, ruled and run by and for special interests (such as the industrial-military-security complex, etc.) and the drain and waste of national resources on weaponry and foreign unjust wars and preparations for wars. 

(2). The shrinking of the middle class due to scarcity of decent-wage jobs because corporations become lean and mean and not hiring. 

(3). Virtually there is no wage growth in a few existent decent jobs due to the fact that   all corporate profits go to top executives. Executives make so much that most workers make so little. 

(4) The excessive, fraudulent and exorbitant health care costs    created by greedy, fraudulent and predatory practices of doctors, dentists, hospital owners, drug and insurance executives, lab and medical suppliers for decades without government control and with impunity. 

(5). The asinine and absurd tuition prices make an average American youth dream of a higher education impossible. Since education is the only path to a quality of life, most of the American population is getting poorer and poorer in a society full of discrimination and hardly any opportunity of getting ahead. 

(6). The decadence and destructiveness of the American way of life    driven by the love of money, power and sex sees the handwriting on the wall. 

(7). The perennial conflict, division and paralysis of the government  caused by the various factions and self-serving groups and compounded by lack of good leadership and wrong policy like “pivot to Asia”, “containment of China” and pursuit of absolute military supremacy and world domination cause the state ship to drift and head for the rocks. 

I do not believe Obama is a Christian judging by his owns words and deeds; but if he says he is a Muslim, I would believe it. I could not believe any American leader who lies and kills can be a Christian which is contrary to the teaching of Jesus Christ. 

What would a Christian American president do?  At least the following: 

(1). Apologize to China for the U.S. government in 1971 violated China’s sovereignty by illegally giving administrative control of China’s Diaoyu Islands to the war crime nation of Japan, and order Japan to return Diaoyu Islands to China immediately with apology and compensation. 

(2). Apologize to China for the U.S. sending 7th Fleet in 1949 to prevent Taiwan from reunification with Mainland China, and cancel the US-Taiwan Relations Act and return Taiwan to China. 

(3). Cease all subversive activities in Hong Kong, Xinjiang, Tibet and Taiwan. 

(4). Close all overseas military bases in Asia Pacific by withdrawing all American armed forces, stop encircling China and Russia and disband NATO. 

(5). Return all China’s national treasures looted and robbed from China since the infamous Opium Wars and now displaying in American public museums (like Smithsonian Institution) and many private museums across America. 

(6). Stop NSA spying activities and American interventions and interferences in other nations’ internal affairs and cease all military exercises. 

(7). Change the American empire back to a respectable Republic and copy President Nixon in seeking a just and lasting peace for the world. 

On April 23, 2014 Obama, the president of the United States, reiterated that America would defend Japan against China over  Diaoyu Islands. This is tantamount to an informal declaration of war  against China. This was a day of infamy in American history of aggression. Clearly,  Obama was the no. 1 Chinese enemy and the United States is the no. 1 enemy of China.  The U.S. by raw force robbed China’s Diaoyu Islands and illegally gave administrative control to the enemy of China and war crime nation of Japan defines American aggressor, warmonger, trouble-maker, oppressor and the international bully. Obama declared China’s Diaoyu Islands fall into the perimeter of US-Japan defense treaty.   Let 1.45 billion strong Chinese world-wide rise up to back the Chinese government and defend the motherland. Obama’s “pivot to Asia” policy is American naked expansion and aggression and pursuit of world domination because the U.S. is located in North America. 

American unilateralism means whatever illegal acts done by America and its allies are considered legal; and whatever legal acts done by other nations which are not American running dogs are considered illegal. By its own Monroe Doctrine the U.S. has no legal right or legitimate interest to dominate Asia Pacific. American leaders seem get lost in the world and do not know where their place is in the world. Is there any leader more wicked or any nation more evil than the United States? First the U.S. in 1971 violated China’s sovereignty by unlawfully giving administrative control of China’s   Diaoyu Islands to the unconditionally surrendered war crime nation of Japan. Diaoyu Islands belong to China long before the U.S., Japan and other rat and rogue nations existed. The war crime nation of Japan and its co-conspirator the U.S. and its running dogs all demonstrate their wickedness, shamelessness, immorality and iniquity in making false claims to China’s territories. The Axis of Evil led by America is the no. 1 threat to peace and security in the world.  The American secretary of defense was in China recently and said America and China are friends. The distortion and deception of American leaders is compounded by hypocrisy and moral degradation. China would be better off without such kind of “friend” that encircles China with 60 percent of American weaponry and more than 33,000 troops stationed at China’s doorsteps. If Japan is a bad demon, Philippines is a dirty demon, the U.S. is the devil behind of all China’s troubles.  Since 1949 American leaders have continuously executed “containment of China” policy with a brief break during the Nixon’s administration. The leaders of the anti-China party (DPP) organized student riots under false pretenses but indeed intended to seek Taiwan independence and separation from China. China is forced to liberate Taiwan without further delay. Indeed China can do many things: 

( 1 ). Declare to use nuclear weapons on any aggressor or violator of China’s sovereignty or territorial integrity. 

( 2 ). There are many other tit for tat measures such as … which Chinese leaders know and can do. 

The American leaders, Eisenhower, Kennedy and Johnson, had been contemplating to use atomic bombs in China, and from then to the present seemingly to launch surprised attacks on China’s nuclear capabilities. 

Jesus Christ says,  

Mat 26:52 ,“Then Jesus said to him: Put your sword back into its place; for all those who take up the sword shall perish by the sword.” 

American leaders have been practicing all wars in foreign lands and fighting proxy wars. They can use the dumb allies to die for Americans. American leaders miscalculate the war against China will not be fought in China. China is able to launch massive nuclear retaliations targeting the whole Unite States mainland from California to New York by land, sea, sky, and space. This will not be the war to end all wars; this will be the war to end America, China, and the world.  

Rev 11:15 , “Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdoms of this world have become the Kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!” In the end of the world, Jesus Christ will come and reign with the saints forever and ever.

The state of the world is not good, very bad and very dangerous in 2021  all because there are two evil forces running amok and at work to dominate and destroy the world. Ninety-nine percent of all the problems and troubles and miseries in the world are caused and created by imperialism, militarism and terrorism. 

(1). The leaders of the United States have been proven liars and killers since the end of World War II who have killed millions and millions of innocent peoples around the world in hundreds of unjust wars and bloody military interventions aimed to dominate and dictate the world.  In 1949 America protected the defeated regime of Chiang Kai-shek by sending the 7th Fleet and thus prevented Taiwan from reunification with Mainland China. Adding insult to injury and iniquity, American leaders passed the illegal US-Taiwan Relations Act signed by Carter (a self-proclaimed born-again Christian) to justify selling costly and deadly weapons to Taiwan so that the Chinese may kill Chinese. Since 1949 the leaders of Taiwanese regime have been running dogs of America. 

(2).  In 1959 America backed Dalai Lama in an armed rebellion to separate Tibet from China, he failed and fled, and ever since Dalai has been the highest paid foreign agent to divide and destabilize China. In 1971 America violated China’s sovereignty by illegally and unlawfully giving administrative control of China’s Diaoyu Islands to the unconditionally surrendered war crime nation of Japan. Not one American leader, lawmaker or American media has moral character and courage to tell the truth about Diaoyu Islands. If Diaoyu Islands really belong to Japan, why would Japanese government pretentiously buy and nationalize its territory? Japanese leaders deny their war crimes and genocide of killing 50 million peoples (35 million Chinese and 15 million Asians), making sex slaves of hundreds of thousands of Chinese and Korean young women, and unprecedented atrocities and brutalities in the history of mankind. Japanese leaders claim to be the victims of World War II, not aggressors, and they want to build atomic bombs to pay back the United States. Japan is making and selling weapons of mass destruction to re-militarize a “great Nippon” in order to dominate Asia. Yet the American leaders back and declare to defend Japan over Diaoyu Islands against China.   The United States in on the wrong side of history since the end of World War II.  American war against China will trigger a global nuclear war that will end the world for sure. 

(3).  American dirty tricks and dirty hands are seen everywhere in inciting riots and rebellions in Hong Kong, Tibet, Xinjiang and Taiwan. America is behind all the conflicts and troubles in Iraq, Syria, Libya and many parts of the world, and now in Ukraine. America is the divider of the world, the trouble maker and oppressor, the international bully, the distorter of facts, the violator of sovereignty of many nations, the violator of international law, the manipulator economic and financial matters, the no. 1 maker and seller of weapons of mass destruction, the no. 1 deficits and debtor nation in the world, the great deceiver. Japanese leaders are pagans and idol worshipers, by nature they are liars and killers. The irony is almost all American leaders (civil and military) claim to be Christians, this is pure evil compounded by hypocrisy. It is not known whether American people are aware America is committing suicide and their leaders are leading them to Hell and leading the world to destruction.  You better believe what the Bible says,  

Rev 21:8, “But for the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the Lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” The second death means eternal death with torture. 

American leaders are deep-seated liars and masters of practicing distortion and deception. Whenever they want to do evil in order to dominate the world, they always lift up the high the banner of security and stability, democracy, freedom, rule of law, justice, etc. Chinese people must not just listen to their seductive words but watch out their clear acts. They say American “pivot to Asia” policy is to promote security and stability in the region. Oh, the devil is in disguise of the angel of light. Why does not the U.S. promote stability and security in North America and Latin America? The countries of Latin America hate American domination and hegemonism. According to the American Monroe Doctrine, the U.S. has no legal right or legitimate interest in Asia Pacific. The United States is located in North America, not in Asia Pacific. American leaders seem to get lost in the world and do not know their place. Why does not the U.S. admit their violation of China’s sovereignty in 1971 by unlawfully and illegally giving the administrative control of  China’s Diaoyu Islands to the unconditionally surrendered war crime nation of Japan? Why do American leaders say they will defend Japan against China because China’s Diaoyu Islands fall within the perimeter of US-Japan defense treaty? Abnormally strange! If the U.S. is not the greatest enemy of China, how do you explain since the Opium Wars, intensified in 1949 and the US-Taiwan Relations Act to arm Taiwan so that Chinese may kill Chinese, American leaders support of Dalai Lama to separate Tibet from China, attack of the Chinese embassy in Belgrade, execution all sorts of sanctions, provocations and threatening warnings, encircling China through American Asian allies, with most of American military forces, fleets, aircraft carriers, nuclear submarines, war planes, radars, missile- destroying warships, missiles and anti-missiles, and more than 330,000 troops stationed at China’s doorsteps and arming Japan and Australia in preparation to have war against China? This is what American leaders call re-balancing in Asia by overwhelming forces on American side!   The words of American leaders are belied and betrayed by their own deeds. Action speaks louder of American aggression, arrogance, provocation and ill will towards China. Since the end of World War II, American leaders had killed millions and millions of innocent peoples around the globe through the unjust wars and blood military interventions. Jesus Christ defines liars and killers as children of the devil.  

Jhn 8:44,“You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” Just as you cannot trust the devil, the same you cannot trust the sons of the devil. 

Chinese leaders are not blind. The 1.45 billion strong Chinese worldwide are not blind. China needs to declare its “mutual destruction” policy to deter American aggression, and Japanese and Philippines aggression supported by America. Only the following  three things  if American leaders have done then will deserve Chinese trust:  

(1).    Order Japan to return Diaoyu Islands to China with apology and compensation and without further delay.  

(2).    Cancel the illegal US-Taiwan Relations Act, stop selling weapons to Taiwan and withdraw any relation with Taiwan except trade.  

(3).   Stop interfering or intervening in China’s internal affairs. 

China needs to make clear its “mutual destruction” policy because that is the only effective deterrence available. The United States wants to have a dragged out and prolonged war with China using its allies and fight the war in Mainland China. Once the U.S. attacks China, China will be forced to execute “mutual destruction” policy with massive nuclear retaliations targeting the whole mainland America which will be worse than 1 million 9-11 incidents  and America will be burning worse than 1 million Sodom(s) and Gomorrah(s) and vital American interests worldwide will be destroyed completely. 

Jer 13:23, “Can the Ethiopian change his skin  Or the leopard his spots?  Then you also can do good  Who are accustomed to doing evil.” 

Just as a leopard does not change its black spots, there is not one single slightest evidence that American leaders will change their negative attitudes, arrogance and aggression in pursuit of absolute military supremacy and bent on world domination and dictatorship. Since the end of World War II, American leaders have been proven liars and killers. Obama’s “pivot to Asia” policy is pivot to Hell  because the  Axis of evil led by the United States is the no. 1 threat to world  security today; the second threat is Islamic terrorism. It is the blackest lie to say China is a threat to the region. China in its peaceful rise is no threat to any nation. China does not covet one inch of any country, but some nations encouraged by American imperialist are making false claims to China’s territories long before those nations existed. To say North Korea is a threat to America 10,000 miles away is not only a joke of morons, but a vicious lie. How can a poor and starving nation be a threat to the sole superpower ten thousand miles away? The missiles of North Korea can not go that far. If unchanged, American leaders are leading the world to death and destruction. 

Consequently,  I have to readjust my statistical conclusion: out of millions of peoples I have met and observed in various parts of the world (I did not go to undesirables parts), there are less than  0.1 percent of them are interesting and pleasant peoples. For that reason the world is such a bad and miserable place. Good news, Jesus Christ has prepared a place for you and me; and I am on my pilgrimage to the Celestial City, the Holy City, the New Jerusalem.  Jesus Christ is coming again soon to receive all believers to the place – the Paradise of God. 

Most of the problems in this world are caused by human beings. Human beings are the biggest problems of the world. Bad people makes bad society. Bad leaders make bad countries.  Laws are necessary for bad people. In many nations lawmakers are the corrupt people. Laws are necessary for bad leaders; but in many countries bad leaders are the laws. In some countries it is a costly exercise of futility to impeach the president; Clinton is a proof.  Bad leaders cause the ruin of the world. Bad leaders are the agents of the devil who create wars, destruction, injustice, famine, and abject poverty. 

1.  Civility is freedom from barbarity and vulgarity; it is observable and verifiable. 

To appreciate and measure civility, the understanding of culture is paramount. There are   two types of culture:  the superior and the inferior. Inferior cultures are characterized by violence, greed, deceit, corruption, incivility, laziness, uncleanliness, waste, dissipation, immorality, and short view of life.  Superior cultures    are characterized by wisdom, compassion, honesty, integrity, industry, civility, cleanliness, discipline, thrift, virtue, and long view of life. Superior culture is synonymous with the Protestant ethic.  As superior people create superior culture, so inferior people create inferior culture. 

Some uncivilized behavior is tied to an inferior culture. Once I caught a boy began to urinate on a subway train, approved by his shameless grandmother and relatives. Another time I witnessed a boy urinating near an elevator, approved by his grandmother. Some uncivilized conduct of the young is tied to their uneducated and foolish elders. Once I saw a grandmother pushing a shopping cart with her grandson on it on an escalator in a supermarket, the old woman played the feat jovially of lifting the front part of the shopping cart high up while climbing; this dumb behavior can easily cause an accident. Another time I saw a young couple from countryside, their daughter was vomiting on the subway train, and the vomits had a foul and sour smell. They just let the unsightly vomitus on the floor of the train, having no intention or sense of duty to do the cleanup. Uncultured parents and stupid elderly relatives are the promoters of the uncivilized conduct of members of their younger generation. 

Pardon me for making an analogy which may sound offensive, but it is true if you think deeply about it:  Incivility is like a dirty toilet, civility is a beautiful garden. A nation or an individual has a choice what to be. 

Who said children are too young to be assessed whether they are civilized or not? As I have told you about the most civilized children of Denmark in The Theory of Good Society . On September 26, 2013 on my visit to Hangzhou again, I observed something most attractive and remarkable. I met an about 3-year old Chinese girl belonging to the genre of Shirley Temple. As I was sitting under a big tree by the West Lake and I saw a pretty little Chinese girl taking a walk along the West Lake pedestrian street. She put her two hands on her lower back and taking a stroll by herself. She did not yell or say anything. She simply walked and looked and beamed. But her way of walking was royal and gracious and the way she moved her head and feet commanded admiration. I recalled when I was in America (Orange County); I met a young woman at a department store who walked not only graciously but most beautifully that I have never met anyone like that before and ever since. The look of this little Chinese princess was noble and enchanting as if she is conducting a personal tour in her kingdom. I did not see her parents or relatives around her. She was completely by herself, full of self confidence, calm, composed, natural and gifted. She did not bother any one; she just did her own thing with dignity and beauty, completely oblivious to what others were saying or doing.  

There is a clear difference and distinction between incivility and criminality; and also difference between a stupidly uncivilized and wickedly uncivilized behavior and in relation to a criminal behavior. Examples are given to illustrate this principle. Japan is wickedly uncivilized because  its leader said Diaoyu Islands belong to Japan even though historically Diaoyu Islands belonged to China when   Japan had not existed. Japanese officials claim they are the only victimized nation of nuclear bombs. They deliberately refuse to admit and in fact continuously denied they had killed  50 million of Asians mostly Chinese, made hundreds of thousands of Chinese and Korean women  sex slaves which they conveniently called them voluntary “comfort women”, made millions of Chinese slave workers, and committed unprecedented brutalities, etc. and refused to pay war reparations and compensations; shamelessly whitewashed their inglorious past by revising history textbooks;  glorify and worship the Japanese convicted and executed war criminals enshrined as Japanese national heroes. 

Examples of some stupidly and wickedly uncivilized behavior are given as follows: 

   If you run in a crowded public place like airport, train station, subway station, supermarket, shopping mall, etc., you are stupidly uncivilized; and if you bump or hit someone, you are wickedly uncivilized. 

   If you rush to enter a subway train before people have a chance to exit, you are wickedly uncivilized. 

If you smoke in restroom hiding behind a toilet door, you are wickedly uncivilized and a criminal. 

   If you ignorantly cross your legs sitting on a subway train that causes a passenger to trip, you are stupidly uncivilized. If you do it on purpose, you are wickedly uncivilized. 

You are wickedly uncivilized and a criminal when you see pedestrians crossing the street, you accelerate your car to bypass them without considering doing so would endanger human lives and property. 

   If you are making or selling contaminated and toxic food, drug, drink     (water, milk, baby formula, oil, etc.), etc. that may harm or kill people, you are wickedly uncivilized criminal, and should be executed and all assets seized. 

l            If you put trash into drainage ditch, you are stupidly and wickedly uncivilized and you are a criminal. 

l            If you drive in a traffic jam and honk ceaselessly and continuously and loudly to manufacture noise to disturb the social environment, you are stupidly and wickedly uncivilized and all nations should have a law to condemn you as a criminal. 

l            If you drive at night using high beam to blind the eyes of other drivers and pedestrians, you are stupidly and wickedly uncivilized; all nations should have a law to condemn you as a criminal. 

l            If you sell expired food or drink, you are wickedly uncivilized and you are a criminal. 

l            If you dump and drain chemical and toxic liquids into waterways, you are stupidly and wickedly uncivilized and you are a criminal should be severely punished or even executed with all assets seized. 

l            If you park or stop your car or vehicle in a wrong or illegal place to block passageway or to create hazard and accident, you are stupidly and wickedly uncivilized and you are a criminal. 

l            If your pit bull or other dangerous animal attacks and kills a human being, you are stupidly and wickedly uncivilized; and you are a criminal to be executed along with your deadly animal. 

l            If you sleep on your job as a pilot, bus or train driver, boat captain, etc. and cause fatal accidents, you are wickedly uncivilized and a criminal to be punished or executed depending on the magnitude of your crime. 

l            If you make or sell drug or food and make false claims that it can cure certain deadly disease or benefit health but it actually harms and kills people, you are not only wickedly uncivilized, you are a crook and criminal should be executed and all your assets seized. 

l            If you are untidy, you are stupidly uncivilized; if you are lewd, you are wickedly uncivilized. 

l            If you walk in public places exposing your ugly big belly, you are stupidly uncivilized. 

l            If you do not flush toilet after bowel movement, you are stupidly and wickedly uncivilized. 

l            If you are a cashier of a company and give out counterfeit money, when the recipient reports to your supervisor and you get angry; not only you are wickedly uncivilized, you are a criminal. 

l            If you are a bureaucrat that citizens come to you for a certain document such as passport or marriage certificate; you do not provide complete information in writing; you just verbally demand a certain supporting document. Then when the citizen comes back to you and you add more requirements one after another that forces the citizen coming to you several times for one service; you are wickedly uncivilized and a public enemy and you should be fired and punished and never be given a government job again. 

l            If you put your boxes on a subway train seat and at the same time you occupy another seat, you are stupidly and wickedly uncivilized because you pay for one seat and occupy two seats and your boxes are not worth a dime. 

l            Riding on an escalator whether going up or down, you may choose to stand on the right or on the left side; you are stupidly uncivilized if you stand in the middle; and if you do it on purpose, you are wickedly uncivilized. 

l            If you are a professor and you do not give assignment with clear instructions and due date, you are stupidly and wickedly uncivilized and you are unfit for teaching. 

l            If you cough, exhale, and sneeze at others, you are stupidly and wickedly uncivilized. 

l            If you drive a car, or ride a motorcycle or electric bike or bike and go through red light, you are stupidly and wickedly uncivilized and commit a serious crime. If you kill some one, you should be executed. 

l            If you drink and drive and kill people, you are stupidly and wickedly uncivilized and should be executed for your crime as murder. 

l            If you a doctor or healthcare provider who frightens people with TV commercials in over stressing symptoms of all kinds of diseases and compel hypochondriacs into taking unnecessary tests and treatments, you are wickedly uncivilized, a crook and a criminal who needs to be punished severely. 

l            If you walk your dog or cat to urinate or defecate in public places to pollute the environment, you are stupidly and wickedly uncivilized and should be punished, fined and forced to clean up. 

l            If you do graffiti on public or private property, you are stupidly and wickedly uncivilized and should be punished for your crime. 

l            If you play your music so loudly, you are stupidly and wickedly uncivilized. Stupidly uncivilized because you do not know people might not like your music; wickedly uncivilized because you make public disturbance. 

l            Bullying at school has become phenomenal in America. If you bully anyone anywhere, you are stupidly and wickedly uncivilized. If someone is killed consequently, you should be executed as a murderer. 

l            If you make unwanted commercial calls to disturb people, you are stupidly and wickedly uncivilized, the government should bust you. 

l            If you are a parent or grand parent, you feed a child by you eat with a spoon and let the child eat from the same spoon, you drink from a cup and let the child drink from the same cup, you are stupidly and wickedly uncivilized because by doing so you communicate disease or bad gene to the child. 

l           If you monopolize a public facility, be it seats at the airport, or train station, or a bench on subway train, you are stupidly and wicked uncivilized because public facility belongs to the public, not you. 

There are   twelve elements    which characterize most uncivilized behavior which are observable and verifiable. 

The first element which characterizes most uncivilized behavior is violence. 

Violence is both personal and national characteristics.  Violent society is made of violent people. Violent people create violent society. Violence not only is incivility, it is criminality. Historically speaking, the most violent and uncivilized peoples have been Western imperialists and colonialists (the vicious white man’s burden) and evil empire of Japanese militarists because they have been warmongers, even today their evil deeds remain and are evident all over the world. An outstanding case in point was the infamous Opium Wars conducted by Western powers and Japan against China. Recently the Islamic terrorists fall into the same category. 

The greatest crimes against humanity are genocide (such as committed by Japanese militarists against the Chinese and Nazis against the Jews), warmongering and murder, terrorist bombing, etc. I only mention crime in passing because it does not fall into the subject of our concern here. On October 18, 2011 in Everett, Wash., Police say a woman is accused of cutting her sleeping husband’s neck and shoulder with a power saw.   All violent people are uncivilized people.

Thanks to a new wave of feminism and its call for equality, it isn’t just toxic men who can kill, torture and surveil in the name of US militarism and empire, women can now do it too!

This past weekend was the third annual Women’s March, which is a protest originally triggered by Donald Trump’s defeat of Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election that encourages women across America to rise up against misogyny and patriarchy.

As sincere as these women are in their outrage, in their quest for power they are inadvertently reinforcing the immoral and unethical system that they claim to detest. This is most glaringly apparent when this new feminism boldly embraces the worst traits of the patriarchy in the form of militarism and empire .

It is good to know that feminist Brie Larson is cashing in by   partnering   with the Air Force to make a movie that indoctrinates millions of US kids, specifically girls, with the dream of being able to bomb innocent people across the globe from miles up in the sky and look really  “badass”  while doing it. 

I’m sure Ms. Larson, a public and outspoken   advocate   for abuse victims here in America, has meticulously weighed the pros and cons of being a recruitment tool for the US military, which in recent years has aided and abetted, or been directly responsible for, the murder of women and children in Yemen, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Libya and elsewhere.” 

In the last days as the world is coming to the end, as the Bible says, 

2Ti 3:1-5   ,“But know this, that in the last days   perilous times   will come: For men will be   lovers of themselves,   lovers of money,   boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control,   brutal,   despisers of good, traitors,  headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!” 

Note: The characteristics of peoples in the last days are frightening and horrible, barbaric and uncivilized; just naming a few: unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving,   brutal   … I have a perspective of China from 1985 to present; I must say the Western capitalism has produced quite a few dangerous people who are lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, headstrong, haughty, without self-control… The China I used to know was much more polite, honest, moral, kind and civilized. One prominent example is barbaric drivers that honk incessantly as if broadcasting to the world: I am the emperor or empress, get out my way even in a traffic jam. Drivers deliberately violate traffic rules and regulations in a headstrong and haughty way: driving through red light, cutting in front of people, driving at high beam to blind others, driving at unsafe speed, plowing into pedestrians who walk on green light, without respect or regard for life and property. One young man on a subway train fell on me and I shoved back by automatic reflex, not only he did not apologize but looked at me with an evil eye. Assault and battery committed by barbaric men and women against women and children. Public quarrels and squabbles and physical fight become commonplace. Thank God China prohibits owning or possessing of guns. Unless China takes strong measures to punish wicked drivers, drunk drivers, violent men and women severely, etc. the trend of social change is foreboding and threatening. With respect to   traitors,    that reminds me of Taiwanese traitors and Dalai Lama, etc. I believe China should ban all violent movies from entering China and showing on TV and theaters. 

Only in a good society can people be happy. In a bad society no one can be happy. No one can be happy in an uncivilized nation. The most miserable people live in an oppressive, greedy, corrupt, unjust, unfair and violent society. 

The second element of incivility is  dirtiness. 

Dirtiness is both personal and national characteristics. Dirty society is made of dirty people. Dirty people create dirty society. The worst kind of dirtiness is toilet dirtiness. Toilets do not dirty themselves; dirty people make dirty toilets such as not flushing toilet after having bowel movement, urinating on the floor, creating foul smell, etc. The condition of toilet actually has direct correlation with civilization. The higher the civilization, the cleaner the toilets; the lower the civilization, the dirtier the toilets. One of the foulest dirty practices is that uncivilized parents have their children urinate and defecate in public places or on the streets. It is the duty of cities to build sufficient public toilets with easy access to prevent such unclean and unsightly and uncivilized practices from taking place anywhere. It is a national disgrace if you see it happen in any country. All dirty people are uncivilized people, the dirtier the people, the more uncivilized they are. Life is full of regrets; however, to be civilized is much better than to be uncivilized. 

On the way back from Hangzhou in a high-speed train I found the toilet in disarray. Some one or some ones threw tissue roll on the wet floor and waste papers everywhere. There are messy people who exist just to make the world messy. If a person is messy and makes himself/herself filthy, he/she is messy and filthy to himself/herself. If that same person makes the surrounding or environment messy and filthy, that person is not only uncivilized, he/she is a criminal in terms of practical justice. No one has the right to dirty the environment be it a toilet or a street or the sky. So the act of littering or making the surrounding dirty or filthy should be treated as a crime. Smoking pollutes the air and environment and harms the health of others; it should be treated as a crime and punished as a crime. People who do not flush toilet after use should be treated as committing a misdemeanor. 

The third element of uncivilized behavior is vulgarity. 

I believe American sports and movies are most responsible for creating America a society of vulgarity. Vulgarity can be called verbal incivility. America has become not only a violent culture, but also a vulgar culture. Hollywood produced too many movies and TV programs with extreme vulgarity, full of F word. The F word is prevalently used by police, law enforcement, the military, government employees, politicians and officials, college students, blue-collar workers, people on the street, convicts, drug addicts, common crooks and criminals, and almost everywhere. It is worse and wanton when girls and young women use dirty words profusely and shamelessly. 

The corrupt and decadent culture of America is infecting the whole world. This is just one of million examples. On March 31, 2014 I was riding on a subway train, a 6-year old girl and her mother were sitting across. All of a sudden the 6-year old girl turned herself around and performed shaky and sexual movements of her buttock facing me. The mother did not say a word. Like mother, like daughter. In America you often hear young girls shamelessly say F word, mouth full of obscenity and profanity that can chill your bone. 

The fourth element of incivility is disrespect for human lives. 

In 2020 an incredible event took place on TV, a white policeman was asphyxiating a black suspect with his two legs on the black man’s neck while the whole world was watching. It was incredible that no one in authority in America gave an order to tell the white policeman to stop killing.

There is a dangerous group of people in any nation; they are the uncivilized and barbaric drivers. If you walk in the streets of Washington, D.C. you will know what I mean. There are many uncivilized and barbaric drivers also in China. How can you know? These uncivilized and barbaric drivers do not have respect for human life. All murderers, warmongers and terrorists do not have respect for human life. They honk unnecessarily and incessantly because the traffic is congested. They drive at high beam at night to blind the drivers and pedestrians from the opposite direction. They drive through red light. They speed up when they see pedestrians crossing the street. They drive at unsafe speed and cut in front of other drivers. They drive on side walks and stop in the middle of the street. When pedestrians are walking on the green light, they plow into them without care. They drink and drive. They intentionally violate major traffic rules. The only way to stop uncivilized and barbaric drivers is to impose stiff fine and severe penalty. 

Liars, killers, and robbers are uncivilized people.

The fifth element of incivility is ignorance or stupidity. 

Often an uncivilized behavior is a product of ignorance or stupidity. Stupidity breeds uncivilized conduct; for example, there are stupid people who drive at night using high beam, not knowing their uncivilized behavior of blinding other people may cause accident and casualty. There are stupid people riding on an escalator, they do not move forward when arriving on the ground floor causing the people coming up from behind having no place to stand. 

There is another combination of uncivilized behavior which I coin DND (dirty-noisy-disorderly). China and many nations are suffering DND syndrome. DND can be observed and verified. The streets of any nation reveal a lot about the cleanliness or dirtiness of its people. A student of mine who visited Holland told me the streets in Amsterdam were very dirty. It is reported that New York City Chinatown is dirty. During the Shanghai Expo 2010, the Expo area was very large and very clean. The West Lake area of Hangzhou is maintained and kept clean at all times. Another place to look at is public toilet. The toilet of Yosemite National Park was disastrously dirty during my visit some years ago. When I was working at the Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, D.C., many barbarian staff members did not flush the toilet after having bowel movement. It was disgusting. The streets of Washington, D.C. were disgracefully dirty. I saw many houses surrounded by garbage and trash on all sides. In my opinion, Scandinavian countries are the cleanest in the world. Once after a long flight to Hong Kong I was tired and looking forward to enjoy a good lunch. The restaurant was so noisy, it was impossible to have peace and quiet. You witness Chinese subway trains are so noisy and people shout in talking that you cannot hear official announcement. The barbaric drivers in big cities honk incessantly during traffic congestion. Their attitude is that I am the emperor; you are in my way so I honk you to get out of my way! You often see people lining up (queue) for something, there are always people who break the line to get ahead. During the Shanghai Expo 2010, there were many uncivilized people (men, women, young and old) who pushed and pressed to get in. I even witnessed a person was pushed down, without the police the man might have been trampled to death. The people who break line or push to get ahead are by nature very selfish and senseless people. 

The sixth element of incivility is destructiveness.

To dirty, break, damage or destroy public or private facility or property is an uncivilized act. Parents have responsibility to forbid their children in putting their dirty shoes on public seating whether on a subway train, bus, or public park. You can observe almost anywhere that some mischievous boys and young men and even girls who would pull down, shake down, pull off, shake off, pull out, etc. some public device or tool to make it dysfunctional. These destructive people enjoy breaking door and window, tearing up public notice or no-smoking sign, etc. Have you noticed some sick people would even unscrew and take off hooks in the rest room? Uncivilized people do not rest until they break things up, break beautiful and useful things. 

Racial divide in America is fundamental, deep, ugly and troubling to the point like a timed bomb which can explode anytime. After experiencing, watching and studying two Los Angeles riots, I am keenly aware of its danger and destructiveness. For a harmonious society, racial groups need to make themselves respectable and respectful of others. A great Chinese philosophy said, “Before others humiliate you, you must have humiliated yourself first.” Any ethnocentric or egomaniac attitude and behavior, provocative word and deed can only incite prejudice and fan hatred. America is already a polarized society; racism only adds fuel to the fire. It is true that many misunderstand what racism is. Most people believe only whites practice racism and discrimination. When blacks are in power such as when they rule city hall, city counsel, county government and government agencies such as Post Office, the racism that black people practice is even more arrogant, blatant, brazen, crude, offensive and disgusting. A corrupt Washington, D.C. politician of many decades is a sore and sour case in point. The reality is this racial group received more than $6 trillion in aid for nothing since Johnson’s Great Society, demanded preferential treatment in job and education and housing and medical care in terms of Affirmative Action, large percentage on welfare, large population in prisons, high crime rate, large number of gang affiliations, large population of single-parent families, etc. exude the most virulent and violent form of racism without any redeeming feature. 

This ignoramus talked like he owns Washington, D.C. by making outrageous statement, “We’ve got to do something about these Asians coming in, opening up businesses, those dirty shops. They ought to go. I’ll just say that right now, you know. But we need African American business people to be able to take their places, too.” Who is stopping African American business people who receive federal preferential treatment in business loan and contract? Perhaps it would be a good idea for Asian businesses to move out of D.C. to a more civilized and safe area that they do not need placing thick bulletproof plexiglass between customers and employees… Tired of being kept at arms length distance? Look at the mirror and ask yourself why would anyone keep near a violent and uncivilized people? Poor ignoramus, respect is not something you can command, it must be earned. This racial group is America’s number one social, political, economic and cultural liability, a timed bomb many American politicians try to ignore. For the same reason a black journalist some months ago from D.C. went to China just to write about the poor area of Shanghai, he did not even mention Lujiazui Shanghai the most modern city in the world — tells how deep rooted and poisonous is black racism. The same black journalist would not mention how the blacks live in Washington, D.C. just a few blocks from the White House — tells you about the blinding bias and pernicious nature of black racism. 

The seventh element of incivility is disrespect for other’s rights.  

When an individual does something that harms or hurts others, it is defined as an uncivilized act and may be a crime. When a nation does something that harms and hurts its neighboring countries, the same principle applies only in a magnified dimension. Based on the same principle, smoking is not allowed in public places. You have no right to smoke because second hand smoke harms others. Presumably you have a right to smoke in your own home; it is questionable whether you have the right to harm your children. For the same reason,  burning incense should be outlawed. Religious freedom does not mean you are free to practice your religion in a harmful way. Indonesian farmers used a primitive method of farming by burning forest to clear the land and thus create haze and smog    for peoples of Malaysia and Singapore is an uncivilized act. No nation or individual has the right to burn forest and create air pollutions that cause health hazards and risks for others. 

In June 2013 the peasants of Sumatra, Indonesia still used the primitive methods of farming by setting fires on the forest, clearing land for palm plantations. Consequently, the forest fires created the worst air pollution in Singapore and Malaysia and spiked to hazardous levels with thick smog and haze. The deep distress forced the Malaysian government to declare a state of emergency. Singaporean officials made public critical comments about the Indonesian man-made disaster. A high ranking Indonesian official responded with the most shocking statement by saying, “Singapore should not act like children, making all that noise.” However, reason finally won and the Indonesian president apologized to Singapore and Malaysia for the record-breaking pollution caused by forest fires in his country. This was not the first incident. The 1997 Southeast Asian haze which the Singapore government estimated cost of $6 billion  in health care costs and disrupted air travel and business. In this incident Indonesia was the uncivilized country. When you do wrong, do not ask understanding from your victims but be responsible and respectable  to pay all the damages. The nations of the world must learn and ban the use of fires to clear land or burn rubbish out in the open. 

An uncivilized person is a self-centered person thinking he/she has more rights than anybody else. Uncivilized persons demand or seek special treatment or privilege. I recall a white young woman in America who had a baby without husband and she paid for grocery with food stamps; she was pushing her baby cart and furiously yelled at people with profanity to get out of her way. There are so many bad and wicked drivers in China who have the same mentality. They honk and honk incessantly seemingly to declare: I am the emperor or empress of China, even in traffic congestion, get out of my way. The same drivers when they see pedestrians crossing or walking, instead of slowing down they would accelerate in order to bypass them. These stupid drivers drive with high beam at night to blind the eyes of other drivers and pedestrians. People who break the line (queue), who do not hold the swing door, who speak loudly on subway train or in public places, who block traffic, etc. suffer this uncivilized behavior syndrome. 

A professor who skipped classes because he was going abroad and got full pay was not only uncivilized, but irresponsible and fraudulent. Besides he violated the contract and the right of students. A teacher who does not fulfill his teaching responsibilities and fails the students is immoral. 

There should be a “pooper scooper law” everywhere, not only the dog walker or owner must clean up the mess but pay a stiff fine too. The human destruction of the environment is already too much; do not add animal waste on top of it. It is observable that too many dog walkers or owners have no respect or regard for anyone else much less the society at large. It is annoying to observe these uncivilized people who let their animals make a mess on other’s or public property. Why don’t they let their dogs and cats have bowel movement and urination at their homes before they take a walk?  The root cause of incivility is to give to others what you do not want for yourselves. There should be annual pollution tax levied on every dog or cat anywhere. The money wasted on a pet would be more desirable and meaningful to spend on an orphan. 

Once I bought a gadget that can be hung on kitchen wall, etc. without nail; and you can hook your wok and other things on it. The merchant demonstrated how strong and firm that the hook could hold two bricks. However, when I installed it at home, the wok fell down. I thought the gadget was useless. When I met the merchant again I told him publicly that the gadget was no good. In fact, it was my fault because I did not install the hook properly. The whole incident bothered me, and I sought a few times to repair the damage I caused for saying the product was no good while it is very good. Finally, I had a chance to correct my false statement and told other consumers that the product was really good that I had bought it and used it satisfactorily. After I have corrected my false statement I felt relieved. This little anecdote illustrates what I mean a civilized conscience. To be civilized you need to cultivate a civilized conscience. By the way after use for sometime, the gadget was not dependable, it dropped. 

There are many corrupt and wicked practices in every nation on earth. These corrupt and wicked practices are not peculiar only to China; however, to realize the Chinese dream or China dream, they must be eliminated by the power of law. Doctors, officials, teachers, managers and other professionals earn wages and they are supposed to do their duties. After they have done their duties, they should not expect and do not deserve to receive any gift or present   from the public. Doctors must comply with medical ethics and after they have performed surgeries, patients or family of patients have no need to send expensive gifts to doctors. For doctors, officials, teachers, supervisors and others to receive extra gifts or presents in addition to their salaries are corrupt and wicked practices.  Any professional or official who receives gift or present in relation to their position and job function should be fired and penalized severely by law. It is immoral, unethical, uncivilized and wrong for doctors, teachers, officials, managers, etc. to expect or demand gifts or presents from their subordinates or the public. China dream is to facilitate in building a clean and good society with truth and justice for all. 

Discrimination is a violation of equality principle. Discrimination is disrespect of other’s rights. Racism is a form of discrimination. 

Racism is a fact of life in America. Racial discrimination in American society is a universal practice of many forms, including employment, promotion, education, housing, contract, social treatment, medical treatment, financing, business and industry, facilities, etc. Discrimination is not only a dirty word, it is an ugly deed. I have experienced and encountered white professors and classmates, corporate executives and administrators, government officials and lawyers, doctors and nurses, engineers and technicians, professionals and non-professionals, old and young, males and females, believers and non-believers, ministers and church members; etc. all my life. Usually white people exhibit a superior air of arrogance, a repugnant sense of racial superiority; those who discriminate treat others as inferiors and other Americans as second class citizens. This is the perennial dilemma of Asian Americans: although you were born in America or having lived in America all your life, the whites who think of themselves as native sons and daughters treat you like foreigners (outsiders) or second-class citizens. Although most blacks are descendants of slaves also think of themselves as natives and consider other minorities as foreigners. When blacks are in position of power, they exhibit even more virulent, vicious, pernicious and malicious form of racism. Most blacks in America act and talk as if they were entitled to special treatment. Some Chinese Americans want to avoid disclosure of their identity by adopting names such as Locke, Lincoln, etc. On surface, Chinese who use such names deliberately seek to identify with Caucasians. However, when they appear in person they cannot cover up their Chinese features and accent. God has given me very sharp ears. I can tell on the phone whether a person is white, southern white, black, Asian, Latino, European, Indian or Pakistani, etc. without seeing. Racial divide is very deep and destructive in America. Racism is a timed bomb sooner or later will explode in America in a deadly manner. I had watched two most brutal and deadly racial riots in Los Angeles. If you are a female minority, you may fare even worse – double discrimination. I have a female colleague who holds a CPA degree; all her supervisors including the V.P. of finance do not have a CPA. I advised her to ignore American discrimination as a fact of life and focus her life on something more worthwhile. If she dwells on discrimination, she would not be able to live a happy life. One of my most satisfied side-line experiences was to lecture at some major Chinese universities during my vacation. In America well educated and able minorities usually work for white supervisors. I know a Chinese American who applied for a state position: There were selected three most qualified candidates. The Chinese was the most qualified and best educated, the white was above average, the black was the least educated and least qualified of the three, but the black got the job. Racism and racial discrimination among other things are characteristics of a bad society. I believe in Scandinavia gender discrimination is almost non-existent among whites; I cannot say the same about discrimination against other races. 

The eighth element of incivility is indifference to the suffering, dying or life-threatening situation of strangers around you.  

Years ago it was reported that a woman was screaming for help in New York City when she was attacked and killed, no one called 911 for help. Recently a little girl was run over by a reckless driver near Guangzhou, 18 persons passed by indifferently without taking any action until a woman garbage collector came to rescue the little one. This is the lowest manifestation of humanity or rather inhumanity. Inhumanity is a thousand times worse than incivility. When you see some one is drowning, or critically injured, or being brutally attacked, or being run over by a reckless driver, or a house is on fire, or in an emergency situation, etc. and you do nothing, that is beyond incivility and it becomes immorality. 

The ninth element of uncivilized behavior is  disregard for rules and regulations. 

An unruly child is the product of an undisciplined home.    An undisciplined home is created by irresponsible parents. A child who is unruly at home will be unruly at school. Children unruly at home and at school with grow up to be unruly at work and in the society. People who are unruly disregard rules and regulations. The most common violation is the disregard for traffic rules. Traffic rules and regulations are necessary not only to facilitate the orderly and timely flow of traffic; it is also intended to protect life and property. At the intersection of East Nanjiing Road and Central Sichuan Road are the most dangerous pedestrians crossing in Shanghai. I met a police there and asked him why drivers and motorcyclists and bikers who go through red light are not given citation. He told me the violation will cost the violator only ¥5, plus the hassle to deal with those violators. So right before the eyes of the police and before my eyes, I called his attention to the cars and motorcycles and electric bikes and bicycles that go through red light while pedestrians crossing on green light – this practice will cause accident and kill people. The police said it is up to the National People’s Congress (NPC) to change the traffic rules and impose higher fine for violation. I do not know how to send an email to Chairman Wu Bangguo or his successor. I hope this message will somehow reach Chairman Wu (if any reader knows how, please get in touch with Chairman Wu), unless the fine for driving or riding through red light is changed, people will die for ¥5. May I suggest the fine for pedestrian who walks through red light is ¥50, for bicycle is ¥100, for motorcycle or electric bike is ¥300, for car or vehicle is ¥500. If they refuse to pay, their vehicles can be seized and sold. The second offense will double the fine. The third offense will triple the fine. The fourth offense will take their license away. Uncivilized people not only violate traffic rules, they will also violate no-smoking rule, no-parking rule, no-spitting rule, no littering rule, etc. I am glad China has changed, the driving through red light is now a major offense with penalty. There are still many motorcyclists, electric bikers, and bicyclists who violate the red light offense. 

The  tenth element of uncivilized behavior is the  physical abuse or mistreatment of prisoners, strangers, aliens, people you don’t like, etc.  

In a prisoner swap took place on October 18, 2011, 1,027 Palestinian prisoners were freed and one captured Israeli soldier was returned home. The stark contrast was the fact while agents of Hamas looked healthy and strong returning from Israel, the Israeli solder returning from Gaza Strip looked malnourished, terribly pale, sickly thin and frail. The look of the captured Israeli soldier caused a few sympathetic tears in my eyes. I feel pain whenever pain is inflicted upon the weak and helpless. Years ago in America ABC presented a program on the plight of Romanian orphans. When my friends and I were watching on TV how the Romanian orphans were abused and mistreated, we could not stop tears running down like a river. A human being who has no compassion is not a normal human being. 

Torture is prohibited by the  United Nations Convention Against Torture , which has been ratified by 147 states. Our subject here is not about war crime, it is about uncivilized behavior. Torture is ten thousand times worse than incivility. The more I learn about Hamas and Islamic terrorists the more I am convinced Palestinians are unworthy to have a state on Jewish land. 

1.  No man is an island. You do not live by yourself in the world. 
Therefore, to live in a civilized world you have certain responsibilities. Responsibility is the first step toward morality. An irresponsible person cannot be a moral person. To be a responsible and respectable person, you need to conduct yourself according to the norm of society. A society exists governed by law and order. The law of nations may vary, but morality is universal. A nation may pass law or by religious edict to make polygamy legal, that does not make polygamy moral. All men are created equal, for this reason any law or practice that treats men more favorable than women is immoral and should be banned from the civilized world. Morality is derived from natural law and the law of God. For example, for man to have sex with man and woman with woman is unnatural. In the sight of God, homosexuality is abomination, and sex with animal is perversion. 

Civility is closely tied to sense of responsibility.    The higher the sense of responsibility one has the better is one’s conduct of civility. Sense of responsibility is measurable; it can be divided into four categories:  

(A). No (zero) sense of responsibility, example those who litter, spit and smoke.  

(B). Low (1) sense of responsibility. Example, those who stop smoking only when they are told not to smoke in forbidden area.  

(C). Medium (2) sense of responsibility. Example, those who avoid smoking in prohibitive area.  

(D). High (3) sense of responsibility. Example, those who do not smoke at all and prevent their family members and friends from smoking. 

2.  The issues of civility and incivility are complex because they involve various legal systems, mores and cultures and religions of different peoples and countries.  

What is civilized in one country may not be civilized in other countries. What is uncivilized in one country may not be uncivilized in other countries. There are shades of gray areas. An uncivilized behavior may not be a criminal act; a criminal act must be uncivilized. For example, sneezing is an uncivilized act only if you do not cover up your nose and mouth; however, sneezing itself cannot be a criminal act because it is not voluntary. Spitting is an uncivilized act and should be a crime because it is voluntary. Spitting pollutes the environment and spreads diseases; therefore it should be a criminal act. Smoking in forbidden areas should be a crime universally because smoking not only harms smokers; it harms others and pollutes the air and environment. Once I was riding on a subway train, a young woman sat on my left. Her pony tail swept over my face twice like a broom; even she was informed she didn’t express any apology. The woman can be uncivilized in many other things not known. A civilized person should feel sorry whenever or wherever his/her behavior unknowingly affects others unpleasantly. A person’s behavior that knowingly affects others harmfully constitutes a criminal act. An immoral act may not be a crime because there are so many flawed and defective legal systems in the world. The Bible not only provides the basis of all laws and sets high standard of morality. Uncivilized behavior can be defined as any conduct that violates the right of others or that harms the body and interest of another person. To harm the body or interest of another person is usually against the law and considered a crime, for example murder, rape, robbery, terrorism, fraud, assault, arson, kidnapping, drug or sex trafficking, etc. There are uncivilized acts which may or may not be violations of the law. In most civilized nations, smoking, spitting, littering, etc. are violations of the law. Some actions may be considered uncivilized because they create health hazards or environmental pollutions. The violators are usually punished by fine; the more violations the higher the penalty. Thus, there is a distinction between a criminal behavior and an uncivilized behavior because of its consequences. Usually a criminal behavior is a worse offense than an uncivilized behavior. A criminal behavior is immoral and illegal, while an uncivilized behavior is unrespectable and unacceptable. Broadly speaking, all crimes are uncivilized; and all criminals are uncivilized people. 

Some uncivilized behavior is tied to an inferior culture. Once I caught a boy began to urinate on a subway train, approved by his shameless grandmother and relatives. Another time I witnessed a boy urinating near an elevator, approved by his grandmother. Some uncivilized conduct of the young is tied to their uneducated and foolish elders. Once I saw a grandmother pushing a shopping cart with her grandson on it on an escalator in a supermarket, the old woman played the feat jovially of lifting the front part of the shopping cart high up while climbing; this dumb behavior can easily cause an accident. Another time I saw a young couple from countryside, their daughter was vomiting on the subway train, and the vomits had a foul and sour smell. They just let the unsightly vomitus on the floor of the train, having no intention or sense of duty to do the cleanup. Uncultured parents and stupid elderly relatives are the promoters of the uncivilized conduct of members of their younger generation. 

The parental influence on their children, for better or worse, is tremendous. Once I observed in Washington, D.C., some black women brought their children into a supermarket. The black children ran wild and took small spice bottles and emptied their contents on the floor, while their mothers watched and didn’t say a word. China has one child-policy in order to control poverty and starvation. As an unintended result, probably 95 percent of children are spoiled by their useless parents. These spoiled brats act as if they were little emperors and empresses, unruly and uncivilized and wild. In comparison to the lovely Danish children mentioned in my article    The Theory of Good Society     and cited above, these uneducated children are most unpleasant and undesirable. Unless these undisciplined children are reined in by their parents in time, they would grow up to become big liabilities to Chinese society. You see the man in a child. It would be wise for the government to recognize the problem and take corrective measures before the problem becomes out of control. This is for sure, uncivilized children will grow to be juvenile delinquents and then uncivilized adults. 

Whether it is an impoverished or affluent school, the fact that bullies exist in school indicates the uncivilized culture and failure of the district management. No poverty can justify bullying school. No affluence can justify bullying school. Some fancy educators know how to create flowery words such as positive behavioral intervention and support, proactive strategies, etc. but have no ability to solve real problems. Tons of acronyms are not as good as one ounce of achievement. American elementary and high schools are immersed with false premises of useless psychology and social sciences that only enrich the administrators and professionals at public expense and the ruined lives of the juvenile delinquents. What is wrong is wrong, not just inappropriate, no need to be sugarcoated. What is bad is bad, no need to be decorated with flowers. You cannot use fancy words to cover up bad conduct. No perfume can sanitize the stinking behavior of violence and unethical conduct of any kind. Jostling in the hall, using a mean (but not crude) nickname that a kid hates, pressuring a kid to share homework answers, or a borderline sexual innuendo, taking another student’s property, coercing a student to hand over property, repeatedly and aggressively borrow lunch money or school supplies from a weaker student without ever intending to pay it back, verbal abuse, harassment of any kind, vandalism, predatory behavior, etc. all indicate an inferior culture on the borderline of criminality. The climate of a school which is like a war zone cannot be tolerated. It is important to make parents responsible and liable for the unruly behavior of their children. Discipline must spell out consequences such as suspension, dismissal, expulsion, etc. If law and order cannot be maintained at a school, no actual learning is possible. You wonder why the scores of American elementary and high school students are much lower than many other nations. 

3.   An important factor in considering what is uncivilized or civilized behavior is whether an act is done in private or in public.  

For example, for you to be nude at home is not uncivilized, but it is uncivilized to be nude in public. There is nothing immoral or indecent for a husband and wife to have sex in their own home, but it is definitely uncivilized and criminal in some nations, to have sex in public. Although you can smoke in your own home, but it is bad for your children. Presumably you have a right to let your pet urinate and defecate in your own home, however, if the foul air and bad smell affects the neighborhood, you become a public liability and nuisance. For the same reason you are not allowed to let weeds grow tall around your house, first it may cause fire hazard, second it lowers the value of the houses around your house. 

You may wear athletic shirt at home; in fact you may wear nothing at home. It is proper to wear athletic shirt when and where you engage in sport activities. It is uncivilized to wear athletic shirt in the public, people have no obligation to see you display your flesh. It is uncivilized to walk in the public displaying your potbelly. 

4.    Based on the principle that an uncivilized behavior consists of any conduct that violates the right of others or that harms the body or interest of another person. 

It is acceptable and rational to consider the following behavior as uncivilized: 

(A). smoking 

(B). spitting 

(C). shouting (in public without cause) 

(D). sneezing (without cover) 

(E). sitting with leg crossing on subway train or bus to block passage 

(F). unyielding to the elderly on subway train or bus 

(G). littering 

(H). playing loud music or driving noisy motorcycle 

(I). dog barking to disturb neighbors 

(J). walking dog to defecate or urinate in public 

(K). walking through red light (traffic violation) 

(L). drive honking excessively (traffic violation) 

(M). driving or riding on sidewalk (traffic violation) 

(N). driving through red light (major traffic violation) 

(O). reckless driving (major traffic violation) 

(P). drink and drive (major traffic violation) 

(Q). driving under influence (major traffic violation) 

(R). cursing 

(S). pushing 

(T). breaking lineup 

(U). demanding begging 

(V). forced selling 

(W). smelling bad (due to uncleanliness) 

(X). giving out misinformation or misdirection 

(Y). staring at people 

(Z). graffiti (public offense) – vandalism 

The examples of uncivilized behavior cited above are neither comprehensive nor exhaustive. Civility is a relative construct, only truth is absolute. There are many attitudes, degrees and shades of civility; from the most positive to the negative attitudes, form the highest to the lowest degrees, from clearest to the grayest areas. This little story may illustrate the point. At a subway station I met a 7-year old little girl. There are steps for pedestrians to walk up or down. There are also bicycle slides on both sides for people to slide down or move up their bikes. The little girl ran up on the slippery bike path, I noticed her feet sliding back and told her she might slip and fall down. The little girl rudely and strongly replied when she reached the level floor: “You see I did not slip or fall!”  When a person was concerned about her safety and well-being, not only she was not polite and grateful, she treated it as an insult. This speaks a lot about the culture of her family. The self-willed and strong-willed and sour seven-year old may have her personality and character fixed already. It is very unlikely she will grow up to be a pleasant and civilized person. Parents, how you bring up your children influences the personality and character of your children more than anything else. 

Here are a few examples to illustrate the difference between an uncivilized person, normal person and civilized person. When you see someone who smokes in a prohibitive area like an elevator, rest room, subway train, restaurant, store, etc., a normal person will cooperate and apologize and put out his cigarette right away. However, an uncivilized person instead will fight with you and declare it is none of your business and continue his smoking defiantly. A civilized person does not do whatever is forbidden. Now the line between a normal person and uncivilized person becomes gray. It is almost universal knowledge that smoking is prohibitive in many public places. An uncivilized person will stop his car in places which he must not stop for it may endanger others and cause traffic obstruction. Uncivilized persons will park their cars illegally and deliberately. If you challenge them, they will engage in a fight or squabble with you. The same is applicable to persons who litter. I met a young woman on a subway train who insisted she had the right to throw away used drinking bottle on the train, she would not take it out when she existed the train. 

There are differences between an uncivilized person and a bad person. An uncivilized person usually knowingly or unknowingly violates the right of others or harms public interest or does something improper in public. A bad person harms others or public interest on purpose. For example, a man walks through a swing door but he does not hold the door and the door swings back and hits the other person. The man is basically bad. A man smokes in an elevator or rest room, when reminded, not only he does not apologize, he hostilely responds and wants to engage in a fight. The man is both uncivilized and bad. All who drive at high beam on city streets or two-way high ways at night to blind drivers from opposite direction are basically bad persons, not only uncivilized. A driver sees pedestrians crossing the street, not only he does not slow down, he speeds up intending to bypass pedestrians. The driver is an evil man because his conduct may injure or kill others. There are infinite examples of uncivilized and bad behavior. 

Incivility is related to a defective culture, but it is not about culture. Incivility is related to crime, but it is not about a flawed legal system. Incivility is related to problem personality, but it is not about personality. Incivility is a product of a bad society, but it is not about society. Incivility is related to immorality, but it is not about morality. In summary, I find that the root cause of incivility is a complex composite of personal irresponsibility, bad upbringing, negative attitude, inferior culture, poor taste, character flaw, selfish ego, and bad habit. This may offend many, but I have to tell the truth: bull fight is an uncivilized sport, so is boxing. 

While all crimes are uncivilized behavior, an uncivilized behavior may not be a crime. For example, hatred in the heart of man. The laws of nations do not deal with the evil heart of man. Based on the principle that an uncivilized behavior consists of any conduct that violates the right of others or that harms the body or interest of another person; it is acceptable and rational to consider the following sample of behavior as uncivilized: 

The Bible says:  

Ecc 3:12 , “I know that there is nothing better for them than to rejoice and to do good in one’s lifetime.” The best kind of civility is to rejoice and to do good. 

The examples of uncivilized behavior cited above are neither comprehensive nor exhaustive. Civility is a relative construct, only truth is absolute. There are many attitudes, degrees and shades of civility; from the most positive to the negative attitudes, form the highest to the lowest degrees, from clearest to the grayest areas. This little story may illustrate the point. At a subway station I met a 7-year old little girl. There are steps for pedestrians to walk up or down. There are also bicycle slides on both sides for people to slide down or move up their bikes. The little girl ran up on the slippery bike path, I noticed her feet sliding back and told her she might slip and fall down. The little girl rudely and strongly replied when she reached the level floor: “You see I did not slip or fall!”  When a person was concerned about her safety and wellbeing, not only she was not polite and grateful, she treated it as an insult. This speaks a lot about the culture of her family. The self-willed and strong-willed and sour seven-year old may have her personality and character fixed already. It is very unlikely she will grow up to be a pleasant and civilized person. Parents, how you bring up your children influences the personality and character of your children more than anything else. 

There are differences between an uncivilized person and a bad person. An uncivilized person usually knowingly or unknowingly violates the right of others or harms public interest or does something improper in public. A bad person harms others or public interest on purpose. For example, a man walks through a swing door but he does not hold the door and the door swings back and hits the other person. The man is basically bad. A man smokes in an elevator or rest room, when reminded, not only he does not apologize, he hostilely responds and wants to engage in a fight. The man is both uncivilized and bad. All who drive at high beam on city streets or two-way high ways at night to blind drivers from opposite direction are basically bad persons, not only uncivilized. Among the most uncivilized behavior, the following violations rank the highest: 

(A).   Smoking.    Smoking harms people, especially the young and the old who have asthma or respiratory ailments. I am not here to debate whether you have a right to harm yourself or not; you certainly do not have a right to harm others, it may turn from incivility to criminality. It is a crime to smoke in elevator, restroom, restaurant, office, and all public places and public transportation (including taxi) and even when you line up with others for something. Smoking violates the breathing space and living space of others. Smokers are among the most obnoxious people in the world, the cigarette buds everywhere testify against them. Smokers pollute the air, the land, the environment, food, water, etc. through their smoke and cigarette buds and packages thrown on the ground. 

(B).   Spitting. Spitting is one of the most disgusting habits because it violates public sanitation and makes the environment unsightly. In addition, spitting spreads diseases. It is not only uncivilized, it should be a crime. 

(C).   Littering.    Littering is a habit of defective culture. Littering pollutes the environment and it creates trash. The mindset of a litterbug is to give what he does not want to others. A litterbug relinquishes his responsibility and dumps his trash on others. Littering should be made a misdemeanor punishable by a fine. 

(D).   Honking driving.    A driver who honks incessantly is an arrogant little fellow by honking he tells people to get out of his way. Even in a traffic jam, you hear uncivilized drivers honk loudly and constantly. Honking creates noise pollution and a disturbed environment. Unnecessary honking should be made a crime punishable by a fine. 

(E).   Dog walking.    It is most distasteful and disgusting to watch uncivilized and irresponsible people to walk their dogs in order to defecate in public places. Animal waste is a threat to public health, harmful to public sanitation and pollution to the environment. In some civilized countries it is already a crime punishable by a fine and required clean up. It is suggested a pollution tax be levied on pet owners plus their annual licensing. It is also a crime to abandon your dogs and cats and let them run wild on the streets. 

(F).   Not flushing toilet after use. Some despicable people hide themselves behind toilet door and smoke, intentionally violating the rule of no smoking. After dropping their dirty bombs into the fixture, these shameless and worthless people deliberately not to flush the toilets. 

People are uncivilized simply because they do not obey or respect rules and regulations. For example, those who smoke, spit, litter, drive through red light, walking dog to defecate on other’s or public property, not flushing toilet after use, etc. they do so deliberately in violation of rules and regulations they do not want to conform or observe. Although there are some uncivilized people who act ignorantly, most uncivilized acts are deliberate acts. Uncivilized people tend to disrespect law and order. For that reason, uncivilized people are more likely to become crooks and criminals. Civilized people have a sense of responsibility which uncivilized people do not. 

All uncivilized acts burden and threaten a civilized person. Singapore used to be a bad place; by law the culture was transformed to a more genteel society. The small city state is a good model of law and order for many big and bad countries. The most wearisome excuse is civil right and freedom. There is no civil right for uncivilized behavior. There is no freedom to do harm and hurt. The right we need is the right not to be killed, not to be raped, not to be harmed, not to be robbed, not to be discriminated, not to be defrauded, not to be blackmailed, and not to be violated, etc. I am convinced all uncivilized behavior can be controlled or eventually eliminated if good laws are enacted and enforced with severe penalties. 

5.    Public toilet is a key indicator of civility. 

In my assessment of the six most advanced European societies in 1976 in contrast with the United States, I discovered a simple but universal truth: There is a correlation between the public toilet and the level of civilization of any nation. The higher the civilization, the cleaner the toilet; the lower the civilization, the dirtier the toilet. This can be verified anytime anyplace. It is pretty difficult to assess private toilet because you do not have access to many homes. Public toilet you encounter everywhere such as airport, restaurant, government building, school, museum, stadium, hospital, hotel, shopping mall, railway station, bus station, supermarket, public park, theatre, department store, a thousand and one places. 

Four Ss  can be used to inspect or survey a public toilet: They stand for   Sight, Smell, Scene, Supply.  Sight means the general view of a toilet condition, dirty or clean, orderly or disorderly, bright or dark. Scene is to check whether feces in the toilet bowl or urine on the floor, obscene drawing and graffiti on the wall or both sides of the toilet, etc. Smell is the offensive odor; a smelly toilet must be a dirty toilet. Once I was at the De Gaulle Airport in Paris, when I walked into a toilet to my dismay, there was no toilet tissue paper. In poor nations, they cannot afford to Supply free toilet paper. In some nations, people steal toilet paper. In an advanced civilized society, supply of toilet tissue is not a problem. An uncivilized person usually does not flush the toilet after use. I encountered this uncivilized habit of not flushing the toilet after use even in a most prestigious government agency in Washington, D.C. and in some affluent communities.  It was a feeling of dismay when I arrived at Paris and found the De Gaulle Airport did not have toilet paper!

Civility is no refuge for scoundrels because scoundrels do not practice civility. Civility exposes the dark side and disgraced behavior of scoundrels. Something is wrong with a society if it provides last refuge for scoundrels. Civility is a refuge for decent and law-abiding people to feel at ease in a world of disorder. 

In a certain city there are full of nasty women, from twenty somethings to sixty somethings they are tigresses. On a subway train, once I saw a young mother with a 3-year old girl standing on the train; since on a bench can sit six adults, if they are not fat people, it is no problem to squeeze a little girl in. But the woman in her thirty on my right showed her temper and said it was ridiculous. In fact she was the ridiculous and uncivilized woman; the subway rule is to yield seat to the elderly and the very young. This nasty tigress in human form was not willing to make a little room for a little girl. The world is getting worse and worse everyday; the wicked, the evil and the uncivilized and the undesirable multiply like weeds. I have to reassess all the millions of people I have met in the world and conclude with the following findings: 

75    percent of people are uninteresting and boring. 

20    percent of people cover a wide range from uncivilized, undesirable to the wicked and evildoers. 

5    percent of people vary from decent people, nice, cultured to most desirable and respectable. 

The more bad people (uncivilized, uncultured, crude, rude, rough, raw, impolite, uncouth, harsh, mean, etc.) there are in the world, the worse the world becomes. 

6. Civility and crime. 

Crime is the number one indicator of incivility.  The nation that has the highest crime rate and highest prison population is the most uncivilized nation on earth. The race which commits the most crimes is the most uncivilized race. The people who commit the most crimes are the most uncivilized people. The so-called link of low IQ and conservative beliefs to prejudice research finding is flawed. People who give in to racism and prejudice is not simply dumb, it is culturally-and-value-determined. Imperialists, colonialists, hegemonists, militarists and warmongers are not people of low IQ and they are most conservative and want to maintain status quo. According to the     2010 census      of the     US Census Bureau      blacks (including Hispanic blacks) comprised 12.6% of the US population. The data is complicated by dividing blacks into Hispanic blacks and non-Hispanic blacks; not knowing whether the definition is valid and applicable or not. According to the     US Bureau of Justice Statistics      (BJS) non-Hispanic blacks accounted for 39.4% of the total prison and jail population in 2009.     Midyear 2009 incarceration rates for inmates held in custody in prisons or jails differed by race and gender. Black males, with an incarceration rate of 4,749 inmates per 100,000 U.S. residents, were incarcerated at a rate more than six times higher than white males (708 inmates per 100,000 U.S. residents) and 2.6 times higher than Hispanic males (1,822 inmates per 100,000 U.S. residents). Black females (with an incarceration rate of 333 per 100,000) were more than two times as likely as Hispanic females (142 per 100,000) and over 3.6 times more likely than white females (91 per 100,000) to have been in prison or jail on June 30, 2009. If you put the black population of state, county and municipal jails together with the federal black jail population, the total picture is very clear and convincing. It is true that people of low IQ commit most of the violent crimes such as murder, rape, and robbery. The crooks and criminals of Wall Street, Washington and Hollywood are not people of low IQ; they are graduates of American most prestigious universities and they are conservative and ego-centric and biased; and yet they commit most of the financial and war crimes in the world. The link of crime to liberal or conservative as a variable is unsettled. For example, liberals tend to support homosexuality or same-sex marriage and oppose death penalty. Low IQ people tend to commit low IQ crime (such as homicide) while high IQ people tend to commit high IQ crime (such as fraud). Low IQ people are crude while high IQ people are sophisticated. High IQ people such as Wall Street, Washington and Hollywood executives, doctors and hospital owners and lawyers use monopolistic and predatory practices to commit the greatest robberies in the world. World domination is certainly not a socially conservative ideology. Aggressive people want to change the world in their favor because they want to be masters of the universe. Supremacists and hegemonists and militarists are the most arrogant and prejudicial people on earth and yet they have high IQ. 

The eleventh element that characterizes an uncivilized person is the fear he puts to people. 

This is a test question which can reveal who you really are:   Are strangers afraid of you even you do not threaten them?    If yes, you are not only an uncivilized person, you are dangerous. In America, you are afraid not only of strangers, you are not sure of people you know and you cannot trust anyone. What does it matter even if you have money, power and sex if you live in fear? 

To tell the truth is not racism. There is no secret that in America black people by their behavior, look, body gesture, speech, attitude, etc. frighten people. It was a black preacher who confessed that he did not feel safe among black youths. If a black preacher could not feel save around black youths, how would other races feel?

In my research and studies I have discovered the most prominent element that characterizes an uncivilized person is that he puts fear into people the same way you would automatically react to a ferocious animal like tiger or cobra in front you. I recall years ago a black political preacher made a statement that he was afraid of being around with young black males. Some years ago when I unknowingly drove into a black area in Los Angeles looking for a cheap dentist, and when hundreds of pairs of black eyes focused and zoomed on me, the first time and immediately I sensed danger that made me afraid. Whether by the evil eye, body language, words or behavior a man/woman who can put people in fear earns  the highest order of incivility. It is always a pleasant feeling when you are around with civilized and genteel people. The opposite is also true. When Jesus Christ was on the earth, children flocked to Him and He blessed them. If children are afraid of you, obviously there is something wrong with you. It appears children can intuitively sense good or bad people. 

Once I was walking in London near Piccadilly during the day, a white youth followed and tried to sell me drug. I pretended deaf and dumb and kept walking; and he started to curse me. Another occasion I was walking in New Orleans near French Quarter in day time, a black youth followed me from behind, and that really put fear in my heart. In Washington, D.C. a white man told me and showed me the scar on his head because he was hit by a black youth from behind. 

Some years ago I bought a new and most popular car in America, taking all my family members from Southern California, we were going to Carmel  and the 17-Mile Drive, Pebble Beach. On the way we stopped by  San Luis Obispo at a fast food restaurant.  As I entered the restaurant I saw a fine middle-age white man with his beautiful teenage (probably 16) daughter nodding and smiling at me although we were total strangers. In comparison to the some minorities in America that put fear in you, I will never forget the friendly and genuine smiles of the father and daughter among the most civilized peoples I have ever met in the world. 

There are many things in America that will scare you; all because of guns and violent way of life, and countless of crooks and criminals. Black gangs, Latino gangs, White gangs and Asian gangs scare you. One day I was driving in an alley, it happened the time when Jr. and Sr. high schools letting their pupils out and they were going home. Suddenly a bunch of black female students blocked my car and shouted and screamed at me for no reason at all, I didn’t even honk them. The way strangers show their overt hostility to you even you have done nothing wrong would scare anyone. Once I was doing management consulting that I had to go to airport flying around often. I had to drive to airport from home and from airport going home often at night. The way to airport had to go through a black neighborhood. My colleagues would say: pray that your car would not go wrong in that neighborhood or the black people would eat you alive! In fact the son of a well-known black actor was killed at night while he was changing the tire of his Mercedes on a freeway. The American way of life is the scary way of life. American people live in fear everyday!

In 1975-76 I had conducted critical analysis and assessment of the six most advanced civilizations on earth including Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. See      The Theory of Good Society  . The United States of America despite of all the boasting and bragging of supremacists is not among the list. That is no surprise. How can Americans be happy when 1 percent of population owns most of the wealth and power and rule over the 99 percent. The nation with the largest deficits and big national debt of over $29 trillion is sinking deeper and deeper, faster and faster. The sole superpower is either preparing or making wars, doing nothing productive or positive in the world. Americans live in fear daily, fear of crooks and criminals and corrupt officials and terrorists. Although I am not a psychiatrist, I believe if you live in a violent and corrupt society, hear and watch bad news on TV day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year – for many years, that will negatively affect your mind and may cause mental illness of various kinds. If you are serious about the American problems, please read America Is Committing Suicide.  To be frank, I thought Norway was the best nation on earth if the climate is not considered. I would not survive in a cold country like Norway. The recent event of massacre in Norway and the government policy of accepting Islamic immigrants would make me very unhappy if I were a Norwegian citizen. Yesterday I met a beautiful young Norwegian girl and man. I explained to them, the Norwegian government is wrong in abolishing death penalty and accepting Islamic immigrants. For Islam is completely not compatible with Christianity. See    A Response to the Norwegian Nobel Committee .    Happiness is a relative concept, no one can be fully happy in this world. You may be surprised but it is true, China is improving and getting better every day and I have witnessed the tremendous changes in China since 1985. Some nations are much better than other nations. Many nations are the worst in the world. It would be offensive to mention those rat and rogue nations. 

Only in a good society can people be happy. In a bad society no one can be happy. No one can be happy in an uncivilized nation. The most miserable people live in an oppressive, greedy, corrupt, unjust, unfair and violent society. 

If you have carefully read this article, you will realize the complexity and difficulty in defining an uncivilized behavior. To describe and define an uncivilized behavior, you have to define an uncivilized person.   An uncivilized person does whatever he/she wants without considering the harmful or negative impact on others.    For example, an uncivilized driver in a traffic jam keeps honking. The ignorant driver does not seem to know in a traffic jam other cars cannot get out of your way, and continuous and useless honking is disturbing public peace. The same principle applies to those ignorant or wicked drivers who use high beams when driving at night which blind other drivers and pedestrians. 

There is a conflict of behavior produced by incompatible cultural difference or indifference which maybe viewed by one side as uncivilized behavior while on the other side as perfectly normal. For example, table manner. Some people eat with their hands and lick their fingers as primitive people do. Some eat with sucking and ugly sound as a standard norm of behavior. Some use their personal chopsticks to take food from a common plate and put right into their mouth. The passing of one’s saliva into the common plate which serves others is offensive to another cultural norm. Some people eat by spitting fish and meat bones right on the floor. A person of a subjectively more refined culture would feel being tortured in a noisy and disorderly environment and dinning with such crude individuals. The other side may view your displeasure and disapproval as snobbish and arrogant. Although I am not arrogant or snobbish, I must confess I cannot bear the taste of most food prepared by people in remote undeveloped area or countryside. It is a matter of taste. What is civilized in one culture may be uncivilized in other. This may be an illustration of the old town vs. country conflict. This may be a subtle class and cultural phenomenon of incompatibility which is difficult to define civility or incivility. Another example, my ears reject all dialects and some languages as ugly and unpleasant sound. It will be a torture if I had to listen to those unpleasant noises just as I reject the senseless and noisy bang and bang of rock and roll. I have no pleasure in African American rap music; it is no music to me.  Sound of Music ,  Phantom of the Opera,  and  My Fair Lady , etc. represent good music to me. Handel’s Messiah, composed in 1741, probably is the most majestic kind of music.

The twelfth element that characterizes incivility is the lack of refinement. 

Once I had a most uncomfortable and embarrassing experience at a town in Mississippi where the best establishment had a most primitive toilet facility. Men went into a small square rest room where they urinated to ditches by the wall and in the middle was a toilet seat for defecation like a central stage of public spectacle. I was brought up to urinate or defecate in private without anyone around or looking. I was not able to do anything in such an environment. I would rather to go to the woods. 

Refinement or cultured environment may be a key characteristic that differentiates a civilized person from a beast of the jungle. Refinement does not have to be an opulence, extravagance or luxury. 

On the matter of refinement, it is a concept that can become visible if you have a trained eye to see. If you have not done it, I suggest from now on when you walk out of your door; sharpen your observations wherever you go. Have you not noticed that people from countryside appear different from people in the big city? By appearance I do not mean just the way people dress, expensive or cheap, formal or informal; but including how people talk, walk, laugh, smile, eat, sit, stand, drink, run, etc. Have you not noticed that foreigners behave differently? Once at a Beijing high class department store a clerk told me that she knew I was not Chinese although I looked like Chinese. She said I had an air or style that Chinese people do not have. Do you notice people in a poor area appear differently from people in a rich area? The people in a high class area appear differently from people in a low class area. Educated people appear differently from uncultured people. Awkwardness, rudeness, boisterousness, impoliteness, impulsiveness, coarseness, vindictiveness, ungodliness, unkindliness, sloppiness, and shamelessness, etc. are the opposites of refinement. Refined people exude or radiate an attractive quality of pleasantness, kindness, gentleness, naturalness, agreeableness, meekness, goodness, desirableness, nonabrasiveness, unaggresivenss, unpretentiousness and nonthreatenness that represent less than 1 percent of the world population – they are rarer and more precious than the rich and powerful people in the world.  

Do you want to be a civilized person? In a nutshell, realize you are only a co-inhabitant with billions of peoples in the world. The earth does not belong to you. Therefore, act and speak respectfully and responsibly.  If you do so, you are a civilized person. For a  respectable and responsible person is a civilized person. 

Only in a good society can people be happy.  In a bad society no one can be happy. No one can be happy in an uncivilized nation because there are too many things to trouble and disturb and upset you without cause. You do not trouble the barbarians but the barbarians will trouble you. You do not go to evildoers and evildoers will come to you. The most miserable people live in an abusive, exploitative, oppressive, greedy, corrupt, discriminatory, fraudulent, unjust, unfair, uncivilized and violent society. 

This may offend people. I feel at home only in Orange County, California (the best part of Orange County, some parts are invaded by the undesirables). I also feel at home in Scandinavia – the Scandinavia I used to know in 1975-1976. Based on all I know, the world is getting worse and worse. My kingdom is not of this world.  I am a citizen of Heaven, the Kingdom of Heaven.

V． SECURITY 

1.  Security is  freedom from fear or harm.  

Bad people can harm you in many ways, physically, financially, legally, socially, etc. Security can be divided into national security and personal security. National security problems can become personal security problems. Terrorists who threatened America also killed American people as 9-11 in New York City demonstrated. Security problems may also be safety problems, safety problems may also become security problems. 

It was reported on May 30, 2011 a 85-year-old woman in New York upper East Side was sexually assaulted and robbed by a muscular Hispanic thug in his 20s, the fiend, brute, pervert and psycho. Apparently the American criminal justice system does not deter crooks and criminals and the sole superpower was not able to protect her. This was one of countless examples of victims in America. To the poor old woman, human right, freedom, democracy no matter how great are meaningless and useless. What she and every human being needs is the right not to be assaulted, defrauded, discriminated, raped, robbed or killed. Apparently America is a very dangerous and unsafe society, therefore undesirable. 

It was reported by Kansas City, Missouri Reuters (June 10, 2011), a 5-year-old girl could face murder charges in drowning of a toddler in a bathtub. She held the toddler under water until he stopped crying. Could it be that 5-year-old girl has been watching too many violent movies? Violence in America is so exceptionally frightening. 

The reason efforts employed in fighting terrorism have not been effective or successful is simply because it has been fighting terrorism the wrong way. You cannot successfully fight against malaria until you eradicate malaria mosquitoes. You cannot fight against organized crimes until you eliminate organized gangs of crooks and criminals. To fight against terrorism is abstract like hitting the air without target, but endeavor to eliminate terrorists can be effective with concrete results. Governments cannot apply laws and due process pertaining to common crooks and criminals to deal with terrorists. Terrorists are extraordinary enemies of humanity, not only they have lost human rights because they inhuman, they have no right to exist. Governments of all nations must fight terrorists the way they fight real enemies in a war of survival: Eliminate and liquidate them for good. If the enemies live, you die. If you live, the enemies must die. Once the terrorists have no place to hide and have no means to exist, terrorism will cease. To the extent that a nation has wiped out terrorists, that nation enjoys safety and security. 

If you live in a bad society where there are more frauds committed than the stars in the sky, discrimination is a way of life, doctors and hospitals can bankrupt you any moment, crooks and criminals threaten you in all aspects of life, the flawed system does not protect you, the government serves the interest of the few, you feel the nation is on the wrong track but you are helpless and hopeless, you are unemployed, you live in fear every day – – the days are evil. It was also reported that the rich and powerful founder of Apple Company was so afraid that his daughter could be kidnapped. What is the use of money and power, if you live in fear daily? What is the use of the sole superpower that can destroy the world but cannot protect its citizens from harm by crooks and criminals and terrorists? 

2.   Product safety problems like food and drug are very critical because contaminated food and unsafe drug can kill people. 

For example, years ago poisoned milk killed babies in China. Safety problems such as products in America that claim to be gentle and pure are contaminated with carcinogens. 

If you watch all the TV news and reports on how companies and individuals manufacture drugs, food and drink with high content of toxic and harmful and deadly materials and additives, you would not dare to eat or drink anything! This appears to be a national emergency more dangerous and deadly than SARS because it is intentionally caused and created by wicked people infected by incurable capitalistic greed. Just as China has demonstrated its abilities in dealing with natural disasters, I am sure China is fully capable in dealing with such man-made disaster. It is hoped Chinese government will prosecute and execute any responsible people or groups of people who manufacture and sell toxic and harmful products in the form of drug, food, drink, etc. It is high time to eliminate those mass murderers who violate the law boldly for the sake of high profits. Perhaps mass execution is necessary to stop and eliminate this evil deed infected by capitalistic greed. If corrective action is not taken promptly and effectively to stop those mass killers, the consequences would be disastrous of unimaginable magnitude and unthinkable calamity and catastrophe. It would be like committing suicide. When you have internal enemies like those deliberate killers, you do not need external enemies who are at work to destroy China. 

3.   The culture of violence threatens the life and property of individuals. 

It was reported that the people of Samson, Alabama, a former textile hub long down on its luck, remain deeply shaken after a gunman’s killing spree. This kind of report was not the first nor the last of what is happening in America – the land of guns and violence. The conclusion is plain: you can be shot anywhere, even in your own home. 

Security problem is not a case when someone in your house or your neighbor was gunned down. This little story may illustrate and give you some sense of security or insecurity. When I lived in Orange County, California (the best part of America); one day while we were lining up at the most upscale department store in America to make special purchases, I didn’t know how our friendly chat got into security subject matter. Anyhow I urged an old lady standing beside me not to open her door carelessly. The rich old lady surprisingly whispered to me that she had 8 doors in her house. It must be a grand mansion. This incident took place in the golden era of America  when Richard Nixon was the president, and California was the GOLDEN STATE. Then I thought I certainly would not want to live in a mansion with 8 doors. It would be a hard time to know which key is for which door to get in and get out. The rich old lady lived in Newport Beach although I never saw her mansion. One day a black man knocked at my door although there were no black people living in my area. My home had a hidden way (not a peephole) of looking at the whole person who was knocking at the door while the visitor could not see me. Of course I did not open the door. Do you see how terrible it is to live in a mansion with 8 doors and you worry who is knocking at your door? That was years ago. Today America is the most dangerous place to live among developed nations even in the best place of America. It is a terrible way to live in fear daily.  When you have fear, you do not have security. Yes, you have freedom in America. You are free to be raped, robbed, defrauded (by doctors and hospitals and others), blackmailed, discriminated, discharged without cause, extorted, and even killed. What most Americans want is the freedom NOT to be raped, robbed, defrauded, discriminated, ABUSED, spied, threatened, or killed.  

A very old and gray-headed British couple told to me that they have three locks for their door. They do not open their door at night to anyone. The more locks you need, the more insecure is your society. Your society is so insecure that you need many locks. A rich lady in the best county of America told me that she had 8 layers of doors in her mansion. Your society is insecure because there are so many evildoers and the government cannot protect you. There are so many evildoers in your country because your legal system does not deter and effectively punish crooks and criminals and your government is incompetent and dysfunctional. Democracy is phony and human rights are useless if you live in fear. I applaud and appreciate the way the Chinese government is fighting and stamping out organized criminals. In fact, China would be better off to execute more corrupt officials who defraud accumulatively one million yuan or more because 95 percent of Chinese do not earn one million yuan in their lifetime; and execute makers and sellers of fake and toxic food and drug and drink that harm and kill people. China needs not pay attention to Western opinion and propaganda about death penalty because citizens of Western powers (in particularly the United States of America) live in fear. It is better to have capital punishment so that people may live in peace and enjoy freedom. 

4.    Environmental pollution is both a security and safety problem. 

Private cars are the biggest polluters of environment. America the land of private cars is held hostage by OPEC and high cost of oil and gasoline. It is a wise national policy to make mass transit of subways, light rails and electric buses the major public transportation for big cities. Nuclear waste poses a national security threat. Industrial waste poses as community and individual safety risk. Global warming poses as a threat to humanity. 

5.    Fraud and corruption in government  pose the greatest threat to the security of the nation as well as the people because it involves livelihood and survival. 

Official fraud means robbing and looting public resources as illustrated by the American economic and financial crisis created by crooks and criminals in Wall Street, bank, mortgage, insurance, and big firm executives with support by government officials. Through corruption by government officials the national resources and funds are misappropriated and depleted by politicians and bureaucrats and special interests. Anyone who misappropriates, misuses or misspends public funds is the public enemy no. 1. A government that makes possible big crooks and criminals is a bad government indeed. A bad government has no reason to exist. According to Thomas Jefferson, when a government fails to function properly, the people have a right to overthrow it. That is called Jeffersonian revolution. Patriotism does not mean supporting corrupt government officials. American democracy and capitalism offer too many temptations and opportunities to corruption. Everything that the capitalist and supremacist touched turns into abuse, excess, fraud, exploitation and oppression. Jefferson was proven right, “I sincerely believe, with you, that banking establishments are more dangerous than standing armies; and that the principle of spending money to be paid by posterity, under the name of funding, is but swindling futurity on a large scale.” That banking establishments include the current form of investment banks, mortgage, insurance, and big firms that take and abuse government bailout, they are indeed more dangerous than the standing armies. They drag the government and the nation into a quagmire, the sinking sand. The most stupid thing is to invest in weapons of mass destruction and start wars of aggression in order to dominate the world. Ecc 9:18 , “Wisdom is better than weapons of war, but one sinner destroys much good.” 

6.   America has the scariest society because corrupt politicians, self-serving bureaucrats, crooks and criminals and terrorists may threaten the helpless people. 

American people live daily in fear of becoming victims of myriad varieties, from blackmail of lawsuit, identity theft, stolen credit cards, fraudulent and excessive medical expenses, layoff, drive by shooting, murder, rape, kidnapping, arson to home invasion, etc., etc. There are too many things and too many people that make Americans afraid. America is also the most alienated society where neighbors do not know each other and you do not talk to strangers. America is the most insecure society where the unemployed have resources could last only a few months. The uncertainty about many things in American shrinking economy and bleak future puts American people under great pressure and creates constant anxiety and neurosis. Guns are easily available in America. Compounded by the fact that America has more guns than the population. Shooting can take place anywhere. Everyday and everywhere a person may be shot, there is no safe place. This insecurity is caused by the powerful gun lobbyists who bought off the legislators and the byproduct of the flawed U.S. constitution. Deaths and destructions by guns will continue until the law is changed. The perils of American capitalism and democracy are plain and clear to the whole world except the supremacists and hegemonists. 

Failed states of the world should not be our fear, worry or nightmare; the failing United States of America should be the biggest concern, fear, worry and nightmare of every American. Please read my article      America Is Committing Suicide.   

American culture is a powerful decadent culture, driven mad by the love of money, power and sex. American society is a very bad society (all you need to do is to live in America to experience and discover for yourself) produced by a bad culture. My disclaimer is: you are at your own risk to live in a violent society. The United States has negative, bad, and immoral influence on the whole world through its pop culture, mass media, movies and music, pornography, greed, commercials, etc. Poor South Korea is an ally of the United States, today South Korea is reaping the benefits of American culture. South Korea is facing a severe sex crisis; TV is the effective vehicle of spreading sex violence, sex exploitation, sex deviation, immorality, lust, lewdness, adultery, divorce, sex crimes, and etc. in South Korean society. I have personally observed and experienced China from 1985 to the present time. It is not difficult to see the deadly American virus also has infected China. In 1985 China was a morally upright nation and Chinese people were honest and decent. Today corruption, crime, violence, fraud, selfishness, indulgence, etc. have become prevalent. The world must not follow the United States to go to Hell. 

7. Government corruption is the single greatest internal threat to the security, liberty, prosperity and equality of any society. 

The New York Times’ Editorial (April 15, 2011) said, “New Yorkers, unfortunately, are all too accustomed to seeing state legislators sent off to jail for their misdeeds. When a court officer slipped handcuffs on Alan Hevesi, the former state comptroller, on Friday morning, however, Mr. Hevesi became the highest-ranking elected official in New York’s modern history to go to prison for corruption. The former sole trustee of the state’s nearly $141 billion pension fund pleaded guilty to accepting more than $1 million in travel expenses, sham consulting fees and campaign contributions from people wanting to invest some of those billions. He was sentenced to one to four years in prison. His conviction should be an urgent reminder to Gov. Andrew Cuomo and the Legislature of how much they need to do to clean up Albany. Pay-to-play isn’t just a problem in the comptroller’s office, it is a problem throughout the entire political system. The state needs ethics reform, campaign finance reform and redistricting reform. It must restructure the state comptroller’s office.” As a case in point the economic and financial crisis created by Wall Street in 2008 threatened not only the United States but the whole world. 

8.  Bad leaders are the greatest threat to peace and security in the world. 

America has nothing to fear of Russia; all America has to do is to mind its own business, do not provoke or intimidate, do not interfere or intervene, do not be aggressive, do not be self-righteous or self-conceited, do not make or seek enemies, do not try to dominate the world, stop violating the sovereignty of other nations, and do not bad mouth or insult Russia. For the same reason to defend Japan against China would certainly bring about assured mutual destruction and the destruction of the world. When will American leaders learn and change its foreign policy? The most terrifying thing is the fact American leaders and people do not seem to recognize millions and millions of innocent peoples around the world they have killed since the end of World War II in hundreds of unjust wars and bloody military interventions they have conducted and instigated, or realize American hegemony and seeking world domination is the path to Hell. In fact Americans live in fear daily is a result of American democracy, capitalism and imperialism and American way of life and it has nothing to do with Russia or China. 

The most spectacular successes of China’s reform and revitalization and renovation and restoration are characterized by scale, skill, and speed which no other nation had ever achieved before in the shortest period of 40 years under the great leadership of the paramount leader of China Deng Xiaoping. It is the result of the most unprecedented, unambiguous, uncommon, indisputable, unmatchable, and unusual innovation, ingenuity, and relentless industry of Chinese people and capable leaders. I have the honor and pleasure to personally observe and witness the most remarkable transformation of China with a perspective of timeframe from  1985 to the present . The great achievements of China prompt the irrational envy and jealousy and hatred of American, European and Japanese and other leaders. The leaders of White House, Pentagon and State Department persistently and endlessly manufacture lies and rumors and false accusations and issue false and malicious reports against China in order to target and destroy China by all means. The biggest and blackest lie they manufacture and propagate is China threat in order to justify their aggression, provocation, expansion through military actions of sheer hostility in massive and intrusive spying and surveying into China’s territories and placing most advanced weaponry and more than 330,000    troops at China’s doorsteps. The evil intention of America, Japan and others against China are clear and certain – their brinkmanship may trigger a global nuclear war that may destroy and end the world. 

Here are the fundamental problems what is wrong with America: since the end of World War II American leaders have lied and killed millions and millions of innocent peoples around the globe in hundreds of unjust wars and bloody military interventions    instigated and conducted by American military under false pretenses but actually intended to expand American influence in seeking absolute military supremacy and world domination. American leaders act like world dictators, they claim authority to approve or disapprove, accept or reject, recognize or not what sovereign states do in their own territories and countries. A blatant example was the fact in 1949 the U.S. violated China’s sovereignty by sending the 7^th  Fleet to protect the defeated Chiang Kai-shek regime and made Taiwan an American colony and running dog. In 1971   American government outrageously violated China’s sovereignty again by illegally and unlawfully giving administrative control of  China’s Diaoyu Islands to the unconditional surrendered war crime nation of Japan. Not only American leaders do not right the wrong and apologize, they declare to defend Japan against China. Again and again the U.S. interfered and intervened in the internal affairs of many nations. Now  Crimea. Ukraine was a part of the Soviet Union, the American and foreign forces try to seduce Ukraine into the American and NATO bloc and use Crimea to block Russia navigation freedom and cripple Russian defense. Crimea has the right of self-determination. It is good and right for Crimea to join Russia whether America, EU or NATO likes it or not. For Crimea to join Russia is not only good for Crimea and also good for world peace. For Ukraine to join American bloc of NATO and EU is stupid and dangerous to world peace. You can say the same: American colonization of Taiwan “would never be recognized” by China. American giving administrative control of Diaoyu Islands to Japan   “would never be recognized” by China. Although the U.S. is located in North America, American “pivot to Asia” as a display of hegemonism, expansionism and world domination “ would never be recognized” by the oppressed and peace-loving nations of the world. It is not surprising that the evil prime minister of Japan and his gang do not fear God because they are pagans, idol worshippers, and people without morals or conscience like animals who deny their war crimes and distort history. American leaders who have lied and killed since World War II do not seem to fear God either, even though they claim and pretend to be Christians. If China and Russia stand together, America and NATO would not dare to attack Russia. If Russia and China stand together, America and Japan and NATO would not dare to attack China. This is the most effective deterrence of “mutual destruction” and global holocaust that will end the world. There is not the slightest evidence that the U.S., NATO and Japan will change their aggression and provocation. The world is marching toward destruction and the final end. Jesus Christ is coming again soon! 

The American defense treaties and military alliances in Asia are not for defense or peace purposes; they are indeed intended to target China and launch war of aggression against China in order to rob China’s territories and loot China’s resources in the East China Sea and the South China Sea and for the U.S. to become the supreme power in Asia Pacific. The American defense treaties and military alliances in Europe with EU and NATO are not for defense and peace purposes; they are indeed intended to target and suppress Russia. What American leaders are doing in Asia Pacific (pivot to Asia policy) and Europe with hundreds of overseas military bases around the globe to encircle China and Russia is for the pursuit of absolute military supremacy and world domination and dictatorship. To seek world dictatorship American leaders have lied and killed millions and millions of innocent peoples around the world through hundreds of unjust wars and blood military interventions since the end of World War II and deliberately divided the world into two camps, for or anti America. Among the most outrageous lies spoken by American, European and Japanese is China threat and that China’s Diaoyu Islands belong to Japan. American leaders have no moral character and courage to admit in 1971 the United States government violated China’s sovereignty by illegally and unlawfully giving administrative control of China’s Diaoyu Islands to the unconditional surrendered war crime nation of Japan. The evil empire of Japan recently and pretentiously bought and nationalized Diaoyu Islands. 

Never a nation in the history would buy and nationalize its own territory.  The lie is self-evident. The evil Japanese leaders even lied to their own people regarding the deadly facts about radiation and contamination of March 2011 Fukushima nuclear meltdowns, who would be so foolish to trust Japanese leaders about the fact exactly how many hundreds of tons of  highly enriched uranium  they have already accumulated enough to make for more than 1,000 nuclear weapons or bombs? Who in the right mind would trust Japanese leaders who publicly and shamelessly denied their war crimes, genocide, sex slavery and atrocities committed during World War II? The evil Japanese leaders have boasted they can build nuclear bombs in half a year. American leaders are responsible for the Japanese aggressive and dangerous situation. It appears American leaders and people have forgotten Pearl Harbor event. Those who have not learned from historical tragedy are doomed to repeat it. The evil prime minister and his gang are making every preparation to have war with China.  This is the clear and present danger to the world created intentionally by the United States, EU, and Japan. 

The United States has been on the wrong side of history since the end of World War II and responsible for killing millions and millions of innocent peoples around the world.  Of hundreds of unjust wars and bloody American interventions, not one was popular, not one was right, not one was good; however, American leaders and media distorted the facts and perverted justice as if they were noble and right; as if they were for human rights, democracy, rule of law, peace and security and justice. Now America and its gang can no longer fool the world, in this days of instant news American lies have been revealed, evil empire exposed, unlawful deeds of aggression and provocation and arbitration disclosed, secrets of torture and tyranny and terror leaked out, deeds of darkness including spying on leaders of nations and violations of the privacy of billions for the whole world to know.   The clear and present danger is the fact the United States has hundreds of overseas military bases to encircle and target China and Russia  with fleets, aircraft careers, nuclear submarines, war planes, radars and hundreds of thousands of troops stationed at China’s doorsteps, conspired with Japan and  rat and rogue nations and others to make false claims to China’s territories in the  South China Sea and the East China Sea  and poised to launch surprised attacks on China. American leaders have miscalculated that American  plan of aggression against China would cost total destruction of America and the world. In the first place what American leaders and militarists   do not seem to fear God or fear of going to hell   all in the pursuit of power, absolute military supremacy, world domination, money and pleasure. The United States, EU, NATO, Japan, etc. must cease their hostilities and aggression, provocation and military actions or the   destruction of the world is inevitable and imminent. 

Since the end of World War II, the United States of America has incited hundreds of unjust wars and bloody military interventions in many nations which had killed millions and millions of innocent peoples around the world… In the past to name a few of nations violated by America including China, Korea, Vietnam, Gulf, etc., and recently Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria, and now Ukraine. American leaders have practiced violations of the sovereignty of many nations as a right and breakings of international laws  as a privilege for phony reasons of human rights, rule of law, security, justice, etc. For example, America violated the human rights and privacy of many leaders of nations and spying billions of decent peoples in the world under the pretext of fighting terrorism. In fact,  American terrorism and Islamic terrorism are the two greatest threats to peace and security in the world today.  The U.S. in 1971 violated China’s sovereignty by illegally and unlawfully giving administrative control of   China’s Diaoyu Islands   to the unconditional surrendered war crime nation of Japan, not only American leaders do not apologize and right the wrong, American leaders vow to defend Japan against China. This aggression and provocation may trigger a global nuclear war which will end the world. Obama warned  Russia of ‘costs’ for any military intervention in Ukraine. In fact Ukraine was a part of the Soviet Union, NATO and America have no right to interfere and meddle in Ukraine.  

Jesus Christ warns Obama and all warmongers and militarists,  Jhn 8:23-24 ,  “And He was saying to them: You are from   below   , I am from above; you are of this world, I am not of this world. Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.” All warmongers, supremacists, militarists, oppressors and aggressors will die in their sins.No nuclear weapons or missiles can save them! 

MEASUREMENT  

Measurement of a society must be focused on positive variables and negative variables. The higher a society scores on positive variables such as equality under the law, clean government, responsive bureaucrats, opportunities for advancement, social harmony, justice, educational achievement, full employment, pay scale, savings, innovation, infrastructure, etc. the better the society. The lower the society scores on negative variables such as violence, crime rate, corruption, abuse of power, bankruptcy, fraud, foreclosure, drug addiction, AIDS, STDs, epidemics, car accident, vandalism, inflation, partisan politics, national debt, budget deficit, etc. the better the society. 

1.    Measurement of a Good Society consists of many variables. For Liberty, the variables entail freedom of speech, religious freedom, freedom of movement, human rights, civil rights, etc. If a nation has freedom of speech, but after a citizen criticizing the government or the leader, he disappears or dies by accident, car crash, drive by shooting, etc. conveniently arranged by the government or loses his job, etc. – then the freedom of speech is phony because the cost is too high. 

2.     The measurement of Prosperity consists of living standard, cost of living index, GNP and GDP, unemployment, income per capita, home ownership, national debt, corporate debt, individual debt, leisure, recreation, travel, etc. 

3.    For Equality, variables to be measured are discrimination in education, employment, lending, etc. Opportunities in advancement include social mobility, higher education, career, home ownership, etc. 

4.     The measurement of Civility includes the variables of uncivilized behavior on the negative side; public sanitation, personal hygiene, infant mortality rate, environmental protection, good will, charity (not tax-deductible), etc. on the positive side. In my study, I discovered public toilet was an important indicator of the level of civilization. Public toilet has definite correlation with civilization. This is a verifiable fact: The higher the civilization, the cleaner the public toilet. The lower the civilization, the dirtier the public toilet. A formula of 4-S can be used to measure the cleanliness of public toilet. The 4-S stands for SIGHT, SMELL, SCENE and SUPPLY  as described above. 

If you want to be a civilized person, the following principles are to be followed and observed. It does not matter you do a thousand and one good things, doing just one bad thing can ruin you. 

(1).    Do not violate the rights of others. 

Just give you an illustration how to apply this principle. When you smoke, you violate the right of others. When you walk your dog to defecate on public or other people property, you violate the right of others. When you pollute the environment, you violate the rights of others. Breaking the line or queue is a violation of the rights of others. There are a thousand and one ways you can violate the rights of others. If you do not flush toilet after use, not only you violate the rights of others, you disgrace yourself. Remember whatever you do, do not violate the rights of others. 

(2).    Do not hurt or harm others. 

(3).    Do not insult others. 

(4).    Do not create problems or cause troubles. 

(5).    Do not speak arrogantly before people. 

(6).    Do not take advantage of others. 

(7).    Do not defraud or deceive people. 

(8).    Do not show violence or aggression. 

(9).    Do not disturb others. 

(10).  Do not display disgraceful or shameful behavior. 

(11).   Do not interrupt others. 

(12).   Do not shout or sing in public. 

(13).   Do not touch the opposite sex. 

(14).   Do not damage property of others. 

These 14 principles presented above will help anyone to become a civilized person. 

Civility is closely tied to sense of responsibility. The higher the sense of responsibility one has the better is one’s conduct of civility. Sense of responsibility is measurable; it can be divided into four categories:  

(A). No (zero) sense of responsibility, example those who litter, spit and smoke.  

(B). Low (1) sense of responsibility. Example, those who stop smoking only when they are told not to smoke in forbidden area.  

(C). Medium (2) sense of responsibility. Example, those who avoid smoking in prohibitive area.  

(D). High (3) sense of responsibility. Example, those who do not smoke at all and prevent their family members and friends from smoking. 

5.   For Security, the variables to be measured include safe neighborhood, safe food and drug, clean air and water, employment index, average life span, retirement with pension, terrorism, war and peace, fair legal system, affordable health care, etc. 

The Good Society that I envision is not an Utopia. The Good Society is not the Kingdom of God. The Good Society is not a perfect society. The Good Society is not the Paradise of God. Christianity demands that you love God and your neighbor.

Jesus Christ demands His followers to love their enemies. The Good Society only requires that you “do no harm” to others, you do not need to love them; but you must be nice.

Humanly speaking if you want to help build a Good Society, you need to contribute by not doing many bad things and being of a number of good things. You can become a member of Good Society if you DO NOT DO the followings and TO BE the following things.

In conclusion, 

There is no hope for Scandinavia because it has joined the Axis of Evil. You cannot find a good society anywhere in the world today.

The society of a nation is good or bad to the extent how it scores based on the measurement of the five imperatives of Liberty, Prosperity, Equality, Civility and Security. It is impossible to have a perfect society. Perfection is a noble goal that demands continuous efforts. A good society is a dynamic concept; a society can continuously improve. The higher the scores on all counts the better the society. The imperatives are fixed, but the variables are not. By improving the variables under each imperative, the society can be improved. Therefore, a society can improve or worsen itself depends on how the leaders act and how people conduct themselves. What should the leader of a nation do?  Pro 8:20 , “I walk in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of justice.” Abraham Lincoln practiced a government of the people, by the people and for the people. President Richard Nixon sought a world of just and lasting peace. Whether a society is good or bad, culture plays an important role. Take America, the cultural values of money, power and sex have plagued the society with all sorts of problems. No nation which is driven mad by love of money, power and sex can last long. Although America claims to be a Christian nation, its values of money, power and sex are contrary to the Christian values of faith, hope, and love. 

There are two types of cultures: inferior and superior. Inferior cultures are characterized by violence, greed, deceit, corruption, incivility, laziness, uncleanliness, waste, dissipation, immorality, arrogance and short view of life. Superior cultures are characterized by wisdom, compassion, honesty, integrity, industry, civility, cleanliness, discipline, thrift, virtue, humility and long view of life. In brief, virtue or vice can define and determine the character of a culture. The more virtues a culture has, the better the culture. The more vices a culture has, the worse off the culture. Inferior cultures produce inferior peoples; inferior peoples make an inferior society. Superior cultures produce superior peoples and superior peoples build a superior society. A nation possessed and driven by the values of money, power and sex is bound to fail and lose. A society characterized by the values of money, power and sex is doomed to failure. 

A good society is not possible without a good government. Government, any government, any form of government, is inherently corrupt, dangerous, mischievous, abusive and wasteful. The only tool to check on government is people’s sovereignty. People’s sovereignty is the principle that the people (citizens) hold the supreme authority over government and officials. People’s sovereignty is expressed or implemented through a general referendum. Referendum is the tool to dismiss a government or remove an official (elected or appointed). Impeachment has been proven many times to be useless, wasteful, ineffective, unjust and partisan, at best an exercise of futility. People’s sovereignty means people (citizens) have the supreme authority over the government and officials. When 51% of citizens cast a vote of no confidence in any branch of government, that branch of government is automatically dismissed; an election is called for to reorganize the government. When 51% of citizens cast a vote of no confidence in any elected or appointed official, that official is automatically removed; and an election is called for to fill the office. This system of government keeps all officials (no matter what position) straight and toes the lines. General referendum authorized by people’s sovereignty is the most effective tool to maintain and make government clean and just, and officials free from corruption. The American system of government is devoid of this corrective tool. A Constitutional Clause is required to implement this noble and practical principle of government and politics. 

A good society can be good only so far; but a bad society can be bad in infinite ways. The extent, scope, level and nature of corruption, fraud, violence, injustice, irresponsibility, immorality, criminality, greed, abuse of power, extortion, oppression, exploitation, etc. are very difficult to describe and measure. The responsible person of Taiwan hospital which gave HIV blood to patients said it was a system fault. How convenient! You cannot punish or send the system to jail. A culture where people practice loud and fierce squabbling and quarreling in public is a very poor and undesirable culture. An irresponsible and unaccountable system of government is the worst; it is worse than a dictatorship because you can blame a dictator for all the problems of the country. You cannot blame anyone in an unaccountable and irresponsible system of government. In a nation or society where no one is responsible and accountable for anything, it is doomed to destruction is a matter of time. 

In October 2012 one afternoon I was resting by the West Lake, enjoying the weather and scenery. It happened two Chinese women (Hangzhou natives) were also sitting there. We started the conversation and I told them I was here in 1985 and had lectured at Zhejiang University twice. I said Hangzhou has undergone tremendous changes and I asked them: Is Hangzhou getting better or worse in everything? They gave affirmative answer and said positively that every aspect of life in Hangzhou is getting better, except transportation and of course there were not that many cars then in 1985. I have lived almost all my life in California, I have watched California getting worse and worse because of illegal aliens, black and Latino gangs, etc. When Nixon was president, it was American golden era. I just met an Englishman on the subway train; he told me his wife is making more money in Shanghai than they could do in London. 

The trend of a nation is of great importance. A poor nation getting richer and richer is better than a rich nation getting poorer and poorer. Europeans know they are getting poorer and worse. The 99 percent of Americans know they are getting poorer and worse. It is much easier for a nation to get worse and worse than to get better and better. For a nation to get better or worse has a lot to do with the kind of system, the kind of government, the kind of culture, the kind of leaders, and the kind of people. In the last 30 years under the great leadership of  Deng Xiaoping, China has achieved spectacular successes that no nation had ever done before in such a short period of time. However, after opening up the greed of American capitalism has infected China critically. The material aspects of China are getting better and better, the moral aspects of China are getting worse and worse.  

HOW TO CONDUCT A SURVEY OF A SOCIETY  

This is how to conduct a simple and quick survey of a society. If you want to survey your own country or visit a foreign nation, make sure tour the big cities for small towns and villages do not represent a nation no matter how good or bad. For example, you will find French people in Paris in general unfriendly and in fact obnoxious if you speak English, and taxi drivers dishonest. French people told me people in countryside are more polite. When you tour a city, look for the following: 

I. LIBERTY 

Check the following: 

1. How police treat the public; 

2. How often you see police or military; 

3. Attitude and behavior of government officials and workers; 

4. Quality of Government services; 

5. TV news and publications and propaganda; 

6. Freedom of expression and religious freedom; 

7. Freedom of movement and public transportation system. 

II. PROSPERITY 

Look at the following: 

1. The general appearance of population whether decent or sloppy; 

2. The condition of streets and shops and shopping malls; 

3. The merchandise sold at shopping malls and food at supermarkets; 

4. The general appearance of office buildings and houses and public facilities; 

5. How crowded are banks and hospitals and waiting time; 

6.  How many beggars you see in various places in one day; 

7.  What is the unemployment rate. 

III. EQUALITY 

Examine the following: 

1.  How many women and minorities are among high ranking officials; 

2.  What percentage of women and minorities are in executive positions of big corporations; 

3. What percentage of women and minorities are attending major universities; 

4. What percentage of population own their homes; 

5. What percentage of women and minorities own businesses; 

6. What is the composition of prison population; 

7. Is the legal system fair and effective. 

IV. CIVILITY 

Observe the following: 

1.  How prevalent are people who smoke and spit and litter; 

2.  How clean or dirty are public toilets;

3.  How people drive and ride and walk in the streets; 

4.  How people treat the elderly, women and children; 

5.  How people treat strangers and foreigners; 

6.  How people communicate with each other; 

7.  How people respect the rights of others. 

V. SECURITY 

Investigate the following: 

1.  How safe are the homes and streets at night; 

2.  How many murders, rapes and robberies, and frauds committed in a month; 

3. How prevalent are petty thefts and street violence; 

4.  Do you feel safe wherever you are; 

5.  Are there gangs and organized criminals around; 

6.  How is the general environment (social, physical and moral); 

7.  How safe is food, drink and drugs. 

Note: To the extent of your knowledge and skill, you will obtain some useful knowledge and reach a conclusion of how the society is. 

There is no reason why good people cannot build a good society. It is far, far better for the world to compete in building a good society than in building nuclear stockpiles. Nations should use their resources in building a good society instead wasting so much on wars and weapons of mass destruction.  

Pro 14:34 , “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people.” Do what is right is righteousness, and righteousness exalts a nation – not nuclear power or money. Aggression is a sin, and sin is a disgrace to any people. Imperialism is not an honor, aggression is a disgrace. But a good society is pleasant;  

Psa 133:1,   “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity!” How good and pleasant it is for the peoples of the world to live in peace and harmony! 

A white supremacist suggests the world is in need of a  superpower. Absolutely not. The superpower is an imperial and hegemonic power, perpetually working to expand its sphere of influence and interest worldwide at the expense of other nations and violating their sovereignty. The superpower divides the world into for-and-anti superpower blocs. The superpower is constantly making preparations for wars of conquest.  The superpower is the threat of security and instability, the cause of death and destruction. The superpower interferes and intervenes in the internal matters of other nations.  The superpower wants to dominate and dictate the world.  What the world needs is a  supernation  which exerts moral leadership without aggression. The supernation sets an example of a model nation in every aspect, from development to serving the interest of its people. The supernation builds a good society which all nations admire and emulate. The supernation seeks peace and prosperity, harmony and mutual benefit for all nations. 

In recent years a significant trend is taking place in China: not only many foreign students from Western nations are studying in China, and substantial number of peoples from most advanced Western nations are also living and working in China. I do not know their exact population. I have personally met many Westerners from America, Canada, Germany, France, Switzerland, Scandinavia (Denmark, Sweden and Norway), etc. who with their families live and work in Shanghai. Ask yourself why would citizens of advanced Western nations live and work in China? Especially people from Scandinavia, Germany and others who have highest standards of living with social benefits; an English man told me personally that his wife is making more money in Shanghai than in London. If China is so bad and poor as the Western media claims to be, do these foreigners are deprived of personal freedom, human rights, religious freedom, rule law, etc.? Some Americans even told me that they did not understand why the American government targets and tarnishes China all the time. 

London-based economic consultancy, the Centre for Economics and Business Research (CEBR), says on 27 Dec 2013 China won’t eclipse the U.S. economy until  2028, much later than some analysts have suggested. That is the collective opinion of Western experts. In view of the forward-looking and wise policy of Chinese leaders in rapidly modernizing rural areas, mechanizing farming, increasing productivity of 700 million peasants, and accumulative effect of the great achievements and successes of China’s reform in the last 40 years areas, I for one differ with the West and predict that  China will surpass the U.S. economy in 2026. Let the world take notice and see which prediction will come true. I do not have any doubt that China can achieve the China dream, and no nation can stop it. It is   silly and self-destructive for the American leaders to launch a war of aggression against China. It is stupid and suicidal to be on the wrong side of history with the evil empire of Japan. For China does not want to be the world dictator as America seeks, and China does not seek absolute military supremacy as America does. China only wants to rejuvenate and revive China to its past glory and preeminence, and seek peace, prosperity and harmony in the world.  Let American leaders learn from President Richard Nixon in seeking a just and lasting peace. 

On  December 26, 2013 the prime minister of Japan formally in an official capacity glorified and worshiped convicted and executed Japanese war criminals as Japanese national heroes and thus once and for all declared to the world that  Japan denies its war crime  nation status and refuses its war crime liabilities and responsibilities; and sets himself up as the public enemy of Chinese and Korean peoples who suffered immense inhumane treatment and loss of countless lives under the brutalities of the Japanese aggressors and militarists. China needs to take appropriate action, tit for tat to counter Japanese hostility and animosity. 

A Chinese traitor and an American running dog under the guise of an obscure professor and paid by Japanese media made a false statement that the Chinese leader is emerging a dictator. This ignoramus obscurantist who is a shame to his ancestor does not know the definition of a dictator. The leader who works for the greatest good of the greatest number of people is a true democratic leader. The Japanese prime minister is a virtual dictator who deceives his people and works against the good of his country and the world.  The words of the prime minister of Japan are intended to propagandize democracy, law and peace to fool the world; indeed his deeds are for dictatorship, lawlessness and war. It is time for  1.45 billion strong Chinese worldwide to be united as one man.   American leaders are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.  A hypocrite is a person who pretends to be what he is not. It was the U.S. leaders who violated China’s sovereignty and international law by illegally giving administrative control of China’s Diaoyu Islands in 1971 to the unconditional surrendered war crime nation of Japan, now American leaders not only unwilling to admit their crime and right the wrong, they condescendingly and cunningly said the dispute must be solved by international law. Lawless people and international bully talk about rule of law is like the prostitutes talk about chastity, virginity, and virtue.  America is behind almost all of China’s and world’s problems. 

China has never faced a greater danger or threat than it is now    because the United States has persistently viewed, spoken and acted and treated China as an adversary and America has lined up its allies in Asia Pacific with many military bases equipped with the most advanced weaponry and weapon systems, fleets, aircraft carriers, nuclear submarines, radars, warplanes, and thousands and thousands of troops stationed at China’s doorsteps poised to strike at   China’s nuclear capabilities and facilities.  The United States under its “prompt global strike” program is capable of striking targets anywhere in the world in as little as an hour with deadly precision. American running dogs are making every military move in words and deeds to repeatedly provoke China. Just as the Axis of Evil led by America in Asia targets China, so does NATO led by America targets Russia. Sad and tragic are those nations that exist for the reason of warmongering and making wars of conquest. 

On December 11, 2013   Russia announced that it may retaliate with nukes if it comes under conventional attack. China has no option but do the same. China must retaliate with nukes when it comes under conventional attack. This is the right strategy and policy    that can deter aggression. President Putin is the smartest strategist of modern Russia. The American supremacists and militarists and hegemonists plan to use protracted conventional war to engage China in Mainland China, or limited nuclear war launched from its Asian military bases to destroy China’s nuclear capabilities and facilities. Chinese leaders must not fall into American dirty trick or trap of having a conventional war or a limited nuclear war in China. China needs to declare if  being attacked with conventional weapons, China will not hesitate to execute with nuclear weapons.    If America defends Japan against China, China will be forced to execute “mutual destruction” policy through massive nuclear retaliations targeting the whole American mainland via land, sea, air and space with speed and accuracy that no American missiles or anti-missiles can stop them. No American weapons can save America. The stars of Heaven are against America. In addition, there will be coordinated massive attacks inside America like one million 9-11 incidents, the whole America will be burning like one million Sodom(s) and Gomorrah(s).  Furthermore, American overseas interests (including all embassies and consulates and military bases and big firms) will be wiped out simultaneously and then some… 

According the American Monroe Doctrine, the United States has no legal right or legitimate interest in Asia Pacific because America is located in North America.  The South China Sea, the East China Sea and China Sea (Yellow Sea) all belong to China legally by birth right and geography for thousands of years. Recently American warship almost collided with China warship in the South China Sea is warning to the United States not to cause miscalculated war. The United States fleets should return to America, because they have no business in China’s territorial waters except for aggression.   In a global nuclear war there will be no winner.  A global nuclear holocaust will destroy and end the world. Americans must not be stupid to die for Japs. American leaders should learn from the great American President Richard Nixon in seeking a just and lasting peace. In self-interest, American people must rise up to demand the U.S. leaders and militarists to stop encircling, oppressing and targeting China and Russia. For peace is a million times better than war, let each nation seek  peace and harmony and prosperity in order to build its own good society. 

A good society based on the theory described above is not a Utopia; but it is possible and practical. A good society is not the Kingdom of God.  To love your neighbor is a characteristic of the Kingdom of God. What a good society requires is simply do no harm to your neighbor and be a good neighbor. 

At the present, Scandinavia is closest to have a Good Society; but Scandinavian governments have made terrible mistakes, if not corrected, they will destroy what they have achieved so far. China is the only nation which is clearly marching towards the goal;  China is getting better and better in everything, but getting worse in  corruption, pollution and crime. China has achieved so much in the short period of  40 years which no nation had ever done before; although China needs to take decisive actions to correct some deviations along the way. I  Hope Chinese leaders and people can do.

Since I founded the Theory of Good Society (1975-2021) some 45 years have past; why I am pessimistic whether any national soil is suitable to build a Good Society? In the first place human nature as it is is the first and greatest obstacle. To build a Good Society requires good citizens. There are too many bad people in any country.  

Can you imagine amid the CORONAVIRUS pandemic 2021, there are groups of people in America who vehemently and irrationally oppose wearing a mask which is in their self-interest to do so? Those who do not care about themselves, will they care about others? In building a Good Society, there are things citizens must do and there are things that citizens must not do. If I were the philosopher king of this kingdom, won’t I be forced to execute the wicked and exile the undesirable? How do you expect warmongers, imperialists, capitalists, monopolists, militarists, supremacists, racists and terrorists to change their defective culture and evil practice? 

Jer 13:23:

“Can the Ethiopian change his skin
Or the leopard his spots?
Then you also can do good
Who are accustomed to doing evil.”

Note: Ethiopian in Hebrew is Kuwshiy  which means Cushi, “their 

blackness”, a Cushite, the black man; – which occurs 23 times in the 

Old Testament. The Ethiopian is a black man. There is nothing wrong for a man to be born black, it is only wrong if he has a black character. The leopard has spots is a fact. It is impossible for a black man to change his skin unless by white skin transplant. It is impossible for those who are accustomed to doing evil and change to doing good. In fact, a Good Society does not require citizens of spiritual nature; but it at least requires citizens of moral character. Children who have not seen a leopard can visit a zoo. Spot in Hebrew is 

chabarburah which means stripes, marks, 

streaks; – which occurs 1 time in the Old 

Testament. Accustomed in Hebrew is 

limmuwd which means learned; taught; 

discipled; used; – which occurs 6 times 

in the Old Testament.

Immanuel Kant rings a bell when he said, “The 

greatest problem for the human race, to the solution of which Nature drives man, is the achievement of a universal civic society which administers law among men.”

The Good Society is impossible without first “the achievement of a universal civic society which administers law among men.”

Whether America is a good society or not, what American leaders and politicians say do not count. Whether America is a good society or not, what the peoples of the world say matter. Above all, whether America is good society or not, what American citizens say do matter.

It looks like no nation can even achieve a good society, much less a perfect society.  The root cause of the problem is that the natural man is not good. In 1976 Scandinavia was close to achieving a good society, now sadly there is not a bright spot in the whole wide world. I have given up Scandinavia, there is not one good country in the world.

I am not optimistic about the world. The world is getting worse and worse as predicted in the Bible until the Lord Jesus Christ returns to establish the Kingdom of Heaven.

Do you look for a better country? If you cannot find below, look above. Jesus Christ is coming again to establish the Kingdom of God on a new Earth, the New Jerusalem, the Holy City.

You can become a citizen of Heaven by accepting the Lord Jesus as your Lord and Savior. You can do it now without the help of a lawyer and it is free.  The eternal life is a gift of God by grace through faith in Jesus Christ and the saved also inherit the Kingdom of Heaven.
