There are some silly peoples who live in silly countries who call themselves Jesus. There is only one Jesus, and there is no other. Jesus is not a name that any parents can name their sons after. The same no one can call himself God.
This article is written to let you know who and what Jesus Christ really is. Jesus Christ is what His names and titles declare He is. His names and titles cannot be claimed or used by anyone. Christ has many names and titles. The names and titles of Christ reflect His divine nature and attributes, power and glory. The name Jesus signifies His humanity, born of a virgin. Christ signifies His divinity, anointed by God, the Son of God. The name of Jesus Christ is high above all other names. Just as the names of Jesus Christ are, so is He. Jesus Christ is our Savior and the True God.
1. The Christ of God
Luk 9:20 , “He said to them: But whom do you say that I AM? Peter answering said: The Christ of God.”
Note: Jesus Christ was sent by God to be the Messiah, the Savior of the world.
2. The Son of the Living God
Jhn 6:69 , “And we believe and are sure that You are that Christ, the Son of the living God.”
Note: Unlike all prophets, Jesus Christ is the Son of the living God. Jesus Christ was God who became Man, born of a virgin Mary, conceived by the Holy Spirit, sinless and holy.
3. The Son of God
1 Jo 3:8 , “He who commits sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God appeared so that He might destroy the works of the devil.”
Rom 1:4 , “Who was declared to be the Son of God with power by the resurrection from the dead, according to the Spirit of holiness.”
Jhn 20:31, “But these have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life through His name.”
1 Jo 4:15 , “Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in him, and he in God.”
Note: There are many proofs that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit given birth by a virgin. Jesus Christ was sinless, full of grace and truth. Jesus Christ was God who became Man. Jesus Christ raised the dead and performed mighty miracles and wonders and signs. Jesus Christ was declared to be the Son of God with power by the resurrection from the dead. Jesus Christ came from the Father and returned to the Father in the highest Heavens. Above all, the Son of God is coming again to judge the world and reign with the saints for eternity.
Jesus Christ is the Son of God, not the same Christians are the sons of God. Jesus Christ is the only Begotten Son of God, before time and space. In the begging was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. Jesus Christ is the Word. God became Man in the Person of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ did not become God. Jesus Christ was God from the beginning, from everlasting to everlasting, the Eternal God, the Everlasting Father. Christians are adopted sons of God, no comparison with the Son of God. All the children of God form the Church of God, and Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church, the Body of Christ.
4. The Word of God
Rev 19:1 3, “He (Christ) was clothed with a robe dipped in blood; and His name is called The Word of God.”
Note: Word in Greek is logos which means the Divine reason or expression; – it occurs 334 times in the New Testament; used by the Apostle John to denote the essential Word of God, Jesus Christ, the personal Wisdom and Power in union with God, His ministry in creation and government of the universe, the cause and upholder of all the world’s life both physical and moral, which for the procurement of man’s salvation put on human nature in the person of Jesus the Messiah, the second person in the Godhead, and enlightened the world conspicuously from His words and deeds.
5. The Word of Life
1 Jo 1:1 , “That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of Life.”
6. The Word became flesh
Jhn 1:14 , “And the Word became flesh, and lived among us; and we saw His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”
Note: The Word became flesh means God became Man – the Incarnation.
7. The Word
1 Jo 5:7 , “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these Three are One.”
The Word is another title of Jesus Christ.
Cf. Jhn1:1
8. Immanuel
Isa 7:14 , “Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will conceive and bear a Son, and will call His name Immanuel.”
Note: Immanuel in Hebrew is `Immanuw’el which means “God with us”; symbolic and prophetic name of the Messiah, the Christ, prophesying that He would be born of a virgin and would be ‘God with us’ (Strong’s Concordance); – which occurs 2 times in the Old Testament.
9. Wonderful
Isa 9:6 , “For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder. His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace..”
Note: Wonderful in Hebrew is pele’ which means marvelous; admirable; miraculous; distinguished; amazing; sublime; – which occurs 13 times in the Old Testament. You will never know how Wonderful is Jesus Christ if you are not a Christian and do not have the Spirit of Christ living in you.
I have lived to be an old age and having met millions of peoples in the world, I cannot honestly say one is wonderful. I can assure you that Jesus Christ is Wonderful.
10. Counselor
Isa 9:6 , “For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder. His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace.”
11. The Mighty God
Isa 9:6 , “For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder. His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace.”
Note: Mighty in Hebrew is gibbowr which means strongest; valiant; powerful; upright; chief; impetuous; extraordinary; characterized by might; greatest; – which occurs 158 times in the Old Testament. It is not only Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior, He is the Mighty God.
Many people know that Jesus Christ was a good man and a great man. Do you know Jesus Christ is the Mighty God, our Savior?
12. The Everlasting Father
Isa 9:6 , “For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder. His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace.”
Note: Everlasting in Hebrew is `ad which means eternal; perpetual; evermore; for ever; continuing future; world without end; – which occurs 49 times in the Old Testament. How the Son of God is also the Everlasting Father is beyond human comprehension. But believe what Jesus says about Himself, Jhn 10:27-30 ,“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are ONE.”
13. The Prince of Peace
Isa 9:6 , “For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder. His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace.”
Warmongers and terrorists are children of the devil. The don’t know the way of peace.
14. The Prince of princes
Dan 8:25 , “And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.”
15. Jesus of Nazareth
Act 10:38 , “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.”
Note: Jesus of Nazareth is the historical Jesus as it is written in the New Testament. Nazareth is a real geographical place where Jesus used to live while He was on earth.
16. The Only Begotten of the Father
Jhn1:14 , “And the Word became flesh, and lived among us; and we saw His glory, the glory as of the Only Begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”
Note: Unbelieving theologians and secularists teach that ‘we are all sons of God.’ Not so, unbelievers are children of the devil. Jesus Christ is not a son, but the Only Begotten Son of the Father.
17. The Savior of the world
Jhn 4:42 , “And said to the woman: Now we believe, not because of your saying; for we have heard Him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world.”
1 Jo 4:14 , “And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Savior of the world.”
Note: Savior in Greek is sōtēr which means deliverer; preserver; God or Christ; One who brings salvation; – which occurs 24 times in the New Testament. There are many religious teachers right or wrong, but there is only one Savior who is the Savior of the world, and He is Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Lord of the Universe. The world has many false religious leaders, but the world can only be saved by Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world.
18. The Lamb
Rev 17:14 , “These will wage war against the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, because He is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those who are with Him are called and chosen and faithful.”
19. The Lamb of God
Jhn 1:29 , “The next day John saw Jesus coming to him and said, Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!”
Note: Jesus Christ died for sinners on the cross as the Lamb of God sacrificed to redeem mankind and save them from their sins and penalty of sins. For the love of God prepared the Lamb of God to be a sacrifice for sins, so that sinners may be saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
20. The True God
1Jo 5:20 , “And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.”
Note: There are many false gods of false religions that cannot save. Jesus Christ is the true God, to believe in Him is to have eternal life. How primitive are Japanese prime minister and his gang and Japanese people who glorify and worship their convicted and executed war criminals enshrined as national heroes and living gods! The superstitious peoples of the world believe in many false gods who cannot see, hear, speak, walk or save.
To know Jesus Christ is to know the true God.
21. The Great God and our Savior
Tts 2:13 , “Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the Great God and our Savior Jesus Christ.”
Note: Jesus Christ is our Great God and Savior.

Note: Jesus Christ is the Good Shepherd, and Christians are His sheep.
23. That Great Shepherd
Hbr 13:20 , “Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that Great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant.”
24. The Chief Shepherd
1 Pe 5:4 , “And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.”
Note: Jesus Christ is the Chief Shepherd means Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church, not the pope or anyone else. The Bible does not recognize a pope or any other chief of the church.
Jesus is the Good Shepherd, the Great Shepherd, and the Chief Shepherd of all believers in Christ.
25. The Shepherd and Guardian of our souls
1 Pe 2:25 , “For you were continually straying like sheep, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Guardian of your souls.”
Note: Since Jesus Christ is the Guardian of our souls, we have eternal security, the devil and no one is not able to harm us.
26. The Image of God
2 Cr 4:4 , “In whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of those who do not believe, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the Image of God, should shine on them.”
Note: God is Spirit, invisible, unlike man. Jesus Christ is the Image of God, full of grace and truth. To know Jesus is to know God. To see Jesus Christ is to see God. Jesus and God are ONE.
27. The Image of the Invisible God
Col 1:15 , “Who is the Image of the Invisible God, the Firstborn of every creature.”
God is Spirit cannot be seen. Jesus Christ is the Image of the Invisible God. To see Jesus Christ in His glory is to see God.

30. The Express Image of His Person
Hbr 1:3 , “Who being the Brightness of His Glory, and the Express Image of His Person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down an the right hand of the Majesty on high.”

31. The Sun of Righteousness
Mal 4:2 , “But for you who fear My name, the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in its wings; and you will go forth and skip about like calves from the stall.”

32. The Root and the Offspring of David
Rev 22:16 , “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright Morning Star.”
33. The Bright Morning Star
Rev 22:16 , “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright Morning Star.”
34. The Hope of Israel
Act 28:20 , “For this reason, therefore, I requested to see you and to speak with you, for I am wearing this chain for the sake of the Hope of Israel.”
Note: Israel is surrounded by enemies. The sooner Israel realizes and repents and recognizes that Jesus Christ is their Messiah the better, for Jesus is the Hope of Israel.
35. The Rose of Sharon
Sgs 2:1 , “I am the Rose of Sharon, and the Lily of the Valleys.”
Note: I have seen several hundred species of rose, there is nothing to compare with Jesus Christ the Rose of Sharon.
36. The Lily of the Valleys
Sgs 2:1 , “I am the Rose of Sharon, and the Lily of the Valleys.”
The lily of the valleys can wither; but the glory of Jesus Christ will last forever and ever.
37. Mediator between God and men
1 Ti 2:5 , “For there is one God, and one Mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.”
Note: Mary is not the mediator between God and men, Jesus Christ is the Mediator. Come to Jesus and be saved.

Mat 16:20 , “Then He commanded His disciples that they should tell no one that He was Jesus the Christ.”
39. Jesus Christ

41. Jesus Christ the Righteous
1Jo 2:1 , “My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the Righteous.”
Men are unrighteous and unjust. God is righteous and just. Jesus Christ is the Righteous who can justify sinners.
42. Jesus Christ the Same Yesterday, and Today, and Forever
Hbr 13:8 , “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.”
Note: The Jehovah of the Old Testament is the Jesus of the New Testament. God was, God is, and God is eternal. Only God can be the same yesterday, and today, and forever. Everything else will pass away. Jesus Christ is the same forever and ever.
43. Christ Jesus
Rom 3:24 , “Being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus.”
Note: The Bible more frequently uses the name “Jesus Christ” than “Christ Jesus.” Since the Bible does not explain why, we should not speculate.
44. Christ Jesus the Lord
2Cr 4:5 , “For we do not preach ourselves but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your bondservants for Jesus’ sake.”
The Lord means more than master. The Lord is mighty and powerful and the Lord rules the universe.
45. Christ the King of Israel
Mar 15:32 , “Let Christ the King of Israel, now come down from the cross, so that we may see and believe! Those who were crucified with Him also reviled Him.”
Note: Let Palestinians and Arabs beware that Christ is the King of Israel. Palestinians, Arabs, Hamas and other races have no claim to the Promised Land God gave to Abraham and his descendants some 4,000 years ago. The United NATIONS or any country or organization has no authority to give the Jewish land away.
46. Christ the Lord
Luk 2:11 , “For today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”
Note: Jesus Christ is the One Lord, the Lord of the Universe.

53. King of kings
Rev 17:14 , “These will wage war against the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, because He is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those who are with Him are the called and chosen and faithful.”

Note: All human teachers are fallible, only Jesus Christ is the absolute and supreme Teacher.

67. The Messenger of the Covenant
Mal 3:1 , “Behold, I will to send My messenger, and he will prepare the way before Me. And the Lord, whom you seek, will suddenly come to His temple; and the Messenger of the Covenant, in whom you delight, behold, He is coming, says the Lord of hosts.”
68. The Messiah
Jhn 1:41 , “He found first his own brother Simon and said to him: We have found the Messiah (which translated means Christ).”
A journalist (January 2, 2012) blasphemously and stupidly asks: Can a messiah win twice? Obama is no Messiah and does not deserve to win again. Not only Obama is no messiah, anyone who supports and congratulates gay marriage is against the Word of God and cannot be a Christian. Jesus Christ is the Messiah of the Jews. It is too bad and too sad that the Jews have not recognized their Messiah.
69. The Prophet of Nazareth
Mat 21:11 , “And the multitude said: This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee.”
Note: Nazareth was a real place in the Holy Land, the Land of the Jews.
70. That Spiritual Rock
1Cr 10:4 , “And all drank the same spiritual drink, for they were drinking from that Spiritual Rock which followed them; and the rock was Christ.”
Note: Peter is not the rock as taught by the Roman Catholic Church, Jesus Christ is the Rock, the Rock of Ages, the Spiritual Rock upon which Christ builds His Church.
71. Master
Mat 23:10 , “Do not be called masters; for One is your Master, that is Christ.”
Note: The word “Master” here in Greek is kathēgētēs which means teacher, spiritual guide.
Luk 7:40 , “And Jesus answered and said to him: Simon, I have something to say to you. So he said: Master, say it.”

Luk 8:24 , “And they came to Him and awoke Him, saying: Master, Master, we are perishing! Then He arose and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water. And they ceased, and there was a calm.”
Note: The word “Master” here in Greek is epistatēs which means superintendent or overseer; when addressed to Christ not simply from the fact that He was a teacher, but because of His authority.
Mar 9:5 , “Then Peter answered and said to Jesus: Master, it is good for us to be here; and let us make three tabernacles: one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah”
Note: The word “Master” here in Greek is rhabbi which means my honorable sir, my great one or a title for the honorable Jewish teacher.
Eph 6:9 , “And you, masters, do the same things to them, giving up threatening, knowing that your own Master also is in heaven, and there is no respect of persons with Him.”
Note: The word “Master” here in Greek is kyrios which means the owner to whom a person belongs to or lord, a title of honor in which slaves address their master. You see, in Greek there are five words for the English word Master.
72. Master and Lord
Jhn 13:13 , “You call me Master and Lord, and rightly so, for that is what I am.”
Jesus is MASTER and LORD, so He has complete authority.
73. The Head of the Church
Eph 5:23 , “For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the Head of the Church, His body, of which He is the Savior.”
Note: Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church, not the pope, not Peter, not anyone else. Mary is not the mother of the Church.
74. Teacher coming from God
Jhn 3:2 , “This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him: Rabbi, we know that You are a Teacher coming from God; for no one can do these miracles that You do, unless God is with Him.”
So no philosopher, no theologian, no prophet can compare to the teachings of Jesus Christ. When Jesus speaks, God speaks. The teachings of Jesus Christ are the final, absolute, complete, supreme, perfect, ultimate and eternal. All the words of men will pass away; but the Words of Jesus will never pass away.
75. God Manifested in the flesh
1Ti 3:16 , “Without controversy, great is the Mystery of Godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, vindicated by the Spirit, seen by angels, preached among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up into glory.”
Note: God manifested in the flesh means the Incarnation. Incarnation means God manifested in the Person of Jesus Christ.

Note: All humans are mortal, only God is eternal. God is Blessed Forever.
77. The Son of Man
Luk 6:5 , “And He was saying to them: The Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.”
Of all the names of Jesus Christ, the Son of Man is the one I do not understand. Probably Jesus meant that He was God who became Man.
78. Man of Sorrows
Isa 53:3 , “He was despised and rejected of men; a Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And like one from whom men hide their face He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.”

81. The Beginning and the Ending
Rev 1:8 , “I am Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the Ending, says the Lord, Who Is, and Who Was, and Who Is To come, the Almighty.”
Note: Christ is the Self-Existent eternal God. It means He existed before anything, before time and space. He has no beginning and no ending, the Everlasting God. God is the greatest mystery because God has no beginning and no ending.
82. Who Is, Who Was, and Who Is To Come
Rev 1:8 , “I am Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the Ending, says the Lord, Who Is, and Who Was, and Who Is To come, the Almighty.”
83. The First and the Last
Rev 1:17 , “When I saw Him (Christ), I fell at His feet like a dead man. And He placed His right hand on me, saying: Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last.”

84. The Blessed and Only Sovereign God
1Ti 6:15 , “Which He (Christ) will manifest in His own time, He who is the Blessed and Only Sovereign God, the King of kings and Lord of lords.”
Note: The Sovereign God has absolute sovereignty. Unlike the weak nations of the earth, their sovereignty is trampled by the sole superpower and Western powers.

86. The Bridegroom
Mat 9:15 , “And Jesus said to them: Can the attendants of the Bridegroom mourn as long as the Bridegroom is with them? But the days will come when the Bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then they will fast.”
The Church of God is the Bride of Christ.
87. The Way
Jhn 14:6 , “Jesus said to him: I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life; no one comes to the Father except through Me.”
Note: Jesus is the Way to God, the only Way; there is no other way. Jesus is the Way to God is the Truth. To know the Truth is to have Life.
88. The Truth
Jhn 14:6 , “Jesus said to him: I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life; no one comes to the Father except through Me.”

Jhn 6:32 , “Jesus then said to them: Truly, truly, I say to you, it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but it is My Father who gives you the True Bread from Heaven.”
94. The Holy and Righteous One
Act 3:14 , “But you denied the Holy and Righteous One and asked for a murderer to be granted to you.”
Note: There are many things that God is different from men. Two things stand out: God is Holy and Righteous. You cannot find a holy and righteous man.
95. The Branch of the Lord
Isa 4:2 , “In that day the Branch of the Lord will be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the land will be the pride and the adornment of the survivors of Israel.”
96. The Prince of life
Act 3:15 , “And killed the Prince of life, whom God raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses.”
Note: Death cannot hold Jesus Christ. For Jesus Christ is the Prince of Life, by the power of God Jesus rose from the dead.
97. The Light of the world
Jhn 8:12 , “Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying: I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.”
Note: In comparison to Jesus Christ, the Light of the world, all other lights are like candle light. No one can live by the dim light of philosophers.
98. KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS
Rev 19:16 , “And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written: KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”
The kingdoms of the world will soon become the Kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Note: The names of Christ are a resource in getting the knowledge of Christ. Why does Christ have so many names? Jesus Christ is too wonderful; His names tell us many facets about Him, His nature and attributes. The names of Christ listed above are not exhaustive, but representative and comprehensive. Why the name of Jesus Christ is so important?
Act 4:12 , “And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under Heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
There is no other name under Heaven among men can save you. Mary cannot save you. Peter cannot save you. Apostles cannot save you. Angels cannot save you. The Church cannot save you. Only Jesus Christ can save you. Call on the name of the Lord, and you will be saved.
Salvation is only in Jesus Christ, there is salvation in no one else. There is no other name whereby you can be saved!
Only Jesus Christ saves! Would you accept Him as your Lord and Savior now?
