This article is written to tell you what love is;
the love of God is the greatest because God
loved the unworthy sinner that He sent His only
Son Jesus Christ, from Heaven to earth, to save
sinners by dying on the cross for all mankind.
All who repent of their sins and believe in Jesus
Christ, the Savior of the world, may be saved
by grace through faith.
There are different kinds of love, for example: parental love, brotherly love (include sisters), marital love, love among friends, love for humanity, love of the truth, etc. The most important to know is the love of God for the world (mankind). Love is greatest because God is love.
You may study all the masterpieces in the world literature East and West, and consult the greatest philosophers or thinkers of all time; you can dig, deliberate and study all your life, you will never find better definition and description of love than what is written in the Holy Bible and cited as follows for Jesus Christ demands Christians to “love your enemies.”
There is no greater and purer ideal than Jesus’:
1 Corinthians Chapter 13: 1-13
“Though I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I have to feed the poor, and if I offer my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.
Love is patient and kind; love is not jealous; love does not boast, and is not puffed up. Love does not act unbecomingly, does not seek its own, is not easily provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in injustice, but rejoices in the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things.
Love never fails; as for prophecies, they will pass away; as for
tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will vanish. For we know in part and we prophesy in part; but when the perfect comes, the imperfect will pass away. When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child; when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; but then I will know fully just as I have been fully known. So now abide these three, faith, hope, love; but the greatest of these is love.”
Note: 1 Corinthians Chapter 13 is one of the most famous
chapters of the Bible. The Scriptures cited above are the masterpiece on love and most excellent piece of classical or world literature of all times.
The word ‘love’ occurs 551 times in the New International Version (NIV). 13:1, “Though I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.”
Note: Speak in Greek is laleō which means to utter a voice or emit a sound, to use the tongue or the faculty of speech, to use words in order to declare one’s mind and disclose one’s thoughts; – it occurs 296 times in the New Testament. Tongue is Greek is glōssa which means the language or dialect used by a particular people distinct from that of other nations; – it occurs 50 times in the New Testament. Language is the leading instrument of communication among humans. Speech is a special human gift, for no animals speak like humans. Of all the languages in the world, I am thankful that I know and speak the English language from childhood. It is a powerful experience to be able to express yourself in English effectively and elegantly. There are many languages sound noisy and terrible to me, pardon me, this may be an ethnocentric bias. Especially I consider the Japanese language a machine gun language because it rattles like a machine gun. For the same reason I believe Chinese dialects are detrimental and harmful to China. Mandarin or Guoyu would be the only tool to unify China culturally, politically, educationally and socially; dialects should not be used on TV or in public.
Being an American, I also propose and promote the American English as the national language of the United States of America. Some American leaders and politicians are so foolish not to know only one national language can united a country with effectiveness.
Once I was riding on a train from a suburb to Copenhagen, I heard the beautiful sound of communication between a mother and a girl. I found out they were speaking in Castilian Spanish which is very different from the rough and tough Mexican Spanish you hear in Southern California. I do not know and have never heard the language of angels. Unlike Paul, I have never been to the third Heaven. I presume the language of angels must be the most lovely, pleasant and wonderful. The ability to speak is truly amazing. Love in Greek is agapē which means affection, good will, benevolence, brotherly love, compassion; – it occurs 116 times in the New Testament. Once I flew to Hong Kong, after a long flight, I was tired and planning to have a good lunch. There the restaurant was full of noisy people; they were like a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal without ceasing and without meaning. I soon discover the DND syndrome. The Chinese are suffering a Dirty, Noisy and Disorderly syndrome. It does not mean the syndrome is true for every Chinese, it is generally true with the Chinese. Chinese people are generally (not necessarily individually) and usually dirty, noisy and disorderly – these attributes can be verified wherever Chinese people are. I say this with no intention to offend anyone, but many Chinese seem not to be aware of this problem. There are also many other DND peoples in many parts of the world. To avoid offense, I do not intend to name peoples and countries. You can find out there are not many civilized people in the world. (You are invited to read The Theory of Good Society.)
You see dirty toilets in China; I support the leader of China to have a toilet revolution. Once I was also appalled by the dirty toilet in Yosemite National Park, California after paying a high admission fee. You see dirty streets in China, full of dog’s feces. During the Shanghai Expo 2010, the whole area was very clean indeed. However, the surrounding area of West Lake in Hangzhou is also maintained clean at all times. Another example, Chinese drivers honk incessantly and drive ruthlessly. The Chinese drivers also dangerously use high bean when driving at night. They would not give me peace and quiet to enjoy my lunch or dinner in a Chinese restaurant. Peoples of many nations also suffer DND syndrome, it is needless and may be not wise to mention the names of those countries. Verify them for yourself. How fortunate animals do not talk, or what an unbearably noisy world would it be? I hate barking dogs. You see disorderly Chinese when you are in a line (queue) for something; there are always people who break the line wanting to get ahead. Have in Greek is echō which means to own, possess; – it occurs 720 times in the New Testament. There are only two groups of people: Those who have and those who have not; those who have faith and those who have not; those who have love and those who have not; those who have hope and those who have not; those who have the Lord and those who have not. The important thing is not whether you have money and power or not, the important thing is whether you have salvation and hope or not. Without love, even the most beautiful language is a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. Love is superior to the most beautiful language.
Love in Greek is agapē which means affection, good will, charity, compassion, benevolence, brotherly love, the love of Christians towards Christians; the love of God; the love of Christ; the love of the Spirit; the love of men towards God; love without hypocrisy; love that embraces the truth; – it occurs 117 times in the New Testament. The word love used in the original Greek in 1Co Chapter 13 is the same word agapē.
13:2 , “If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.”
Note: Prophecy in Greek is prophēteia which means of the prediction of events relating to Christ’s Kingdom and its speedy triumph, together with the consolations and admonitions pertaining to it, the spirit of prophecy, the divine mind, to which the prophetic faculty is due; – it occurs 19 times in the New Testament.
Knowledge in Greek is gnōsis which signifies in general intelligence, understanding, objective cognizance; – it occurs 29 times in the New Testament. Mystery in Greek is mystērion which means hidden thing, secret, hidden or secret thing, not obvious to the understanding; – it occurs 27 times in the New Testament. There are many mysteries in the universe. How large is the universe is a mystery. There is the mystery of lawlessness. There exists the mystery of evil. It is a mystery why some Western leaders and nations want to dictate and dominate the world. They do not care about millions and millions of innocent peoples around the world have been killed. They do not care about justice and truth. They are controlled and driven by the values of money, power and sex.
God is the mystery of all mysteries. Knowledge is power and it differentiates among men. The gift of prophecy and to have all knowledge are so precious that no gold and precious stones can buy; and if I have faith to move mountains, yet if I do not have love I am nothing. Nothing in Greek is oudeis which means no one, nobody, nothing whatever; – it occurs 236 times in the New Testament. A person is nothing without love no matter what gifts or abilities he may have.
13:3, “If I give all I have to feed the poor, and if I offer my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.”
Note: Give in Greek is psōmizō which means to bestow, feed, nourish, give a thing to feed someone, feed out to; – it occurs only twice in the New Testament. Offer in Greek is paradidōmi which means to give into the hands of another, deliver to one something to keep, use, take care of, manage; give up; – it occurs 121 times in the New Testament. The offering of one’s body is the supreme gift. If I give all I have to charity, even sacrifice my body, if I do not have love, it profits me nothing. To profit in Greek is ōpheleō which means to assist, to be useful or advantageous; – it occurs 15 times in the New Testament. It is possible to give to charity that may benefit others but profit yourself nothing if you do not have love. The word ‘nothing’ in 1 Cor 13:3 is the same original word in 1 Cor 13:2.
13:4 , “Love is patient and kind; love is not jealous; love does not boast, and is not puffed up.”
Note: To be patient in Greek is makrothymeō which means to be of a long spirit, not to lose heart, to persevere patiently and bravely in enduring misfortunes and troubles, to be patient in bearing the offenses and injuries of others, to be longsuffering, slow to anger; – it occurs only 10 times in the New Testament. To be kind in Greek is chrēsteuomai which means to show one’s self mild and gentle, use kindness; – it occurs only once in the New Testament. If you have love, you would be patient and kind. You are patient and kind to people you love. Watch some mothers who are patient and kind to their children because they have love for them. For others those children are not interesting but incorrigible, so people would not be patient and kind to them. Love is an attitude. To be jealous in Greek is zēloō which means to be heated or to boil with envy, hatred, anger; to envy; – it occurs 12 times in the New Testament. Boast in Greek is perpereuomaiwhich means to brag, extol one’s self excessively; – it occurs only once in the New Testament. To puff up in Greek is physioō which means to be arrogant, inflate, blow up, to cause to swell up, bear one’s self loftily, make proud; – it occurs only 7 times in the New Testament. It is my observation that white supremacists are the most puffed up people in the world because they are the descendants of imperialists and colonialists and now hegemonists. When blacks are in power they may be worse than white supremacists because they exhibit a more grotesque form of arrogance and abuse of power and violence of behavior. Many unbelieving scientists, scholars, philosophers, professors and politicians puff up as if they were the masters of the world. Amid the CORONAVIRUS pandemic 2020, something most abnormal and strange happened on world stage. I was young and now I am old, I have never heard or seen any world or national leaders so arrogant, self-conceited, so corrupted, so perverted, do untrue, so dishonest, so immoral, so shameless as I hear and see on TV some Western leaders and politicians do today in public totally without conscience and without reason!
13:5 , “Love does not act unbecomingly, does not seek its own, is not easily provoked, thinks no evil;”
Note: To act unbecomingly in Greek is aschēmoneō which means to behave one’s self unbecomingly, conduct one’s self unseemly, do something disgracefully; – it occurs only twice in the New Testament. There are infinite ways to act unbecomingly. For example, a supervisor rebukes his subordinate in front of others. Another example, parent who humiliates their children in public. Another example, to arrogantly ask people do you know who I am? Public humiliation of anyone is an unbecoming act. I recall an arrogant preacher of prosperity gospel who rudely pushed a flight attendant and said, Do you know who I am? Seek in Greek is zēteō which means to seek after, seek for, aim at, strive after, demand something from someone; – it occurs 119 times in the New Testament. Under the pretext of democracy, lawmakers seek their own interest and the special interest at public expense. Western powers seek their oil interest by attacking and bombing Libya under the pretense of protecting the Libyan civilians. I am saying this does not mean I support a dictator. Warmongering nations want to advance and expand their own interest violating the sovereignty of other nations. Do you know any politician or official who does not seek his /her own interest? There was a black man when elected to be a mayor of a big city; he filled his office with only black people. There are many minority hiring officials who hire only their own kind. The imperialist seeks its own interest at the expense of others. Supremacists and racists seek only the benefits of their own. Provoke in Greek is paroxynō which means to irritate, provoke, arouse to anger, make angry; – it occurs only twice in the New Testament.
A famous woman said, “ The more I know of the world, the more am I convinced that I shall never see a man whom I can really love. I require so much! ” This poor woman did not know the love defined in this Scripture. This woman has a selfish love. Another woman seemed to have a better understanding of love when she said, ” Love is, above all else, the gift of oneself .”
13:6 , “Does not rejoice in injustice, but rejoices in the truth.”
Note: Rejoice in Greek is chairō which means to be glad, have joy; – it occurs 74 times in the New Testament. Injustice in Greek is adikia which means unrighteousness of heart and life, a deed violating law and justice, act of unrighteousness, iniquity; – it occurs 25 times in the New Testament. Rejoice as the second word in this verse in Greek is sygchairō which means to rejoice with, take part in another’s joy, to rejoice together, to congratulate; – it occurs only 7 times in the New Testament. Truth in Greek is alētheia which means what is true in things appertaining to God and the duties of man, moral and religious truth; the truth as taught in the Christian religion, respecting God and the execution of His purposes through Christ; – it occurs 110 times in the New Testament. Love does not rejoice in injustice, but rejoices in the truth. I have never met a liar or wicked person or evildoer who rejoices in the truth. In fact, truth offends those who walk in darkness.
Almost all my life I lived in America, and I also traveled and lived in Europe, and I have world knowledge. It is most scarry that Western leaders and politicians seem to rejoice in injustice and rejoice in lies and falsehoods. The most current ridiculous matter is the fact that some mad and bad Western leaders and politicians blamed China for making COVID-19 at Wuhan lab and responsibility for the pandemic without evidence or proof, but decided to sue or litigate China for damage and compensation. Evildoers would do anything for money and power. Legal terrorism is no better than Islamic terrorism. Is there anything more unjust when the wicked use law to oppress the victim? You may know there are imperial terrorism, economic terrorism, financial (currency) terrorism, political and diplomatic terrorism, military terrorism, trade terrorism, technology terrorism, litigation terrorism, healthcare terrorism, besides the Islamic terrorism.
The first duty of love is to be true. To be true is to rejoice in truth.
13:7, “Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things.”
Note: Bear in Greek is stegō which means to cover over with silence, keep off something which threatens, to bear up against, hold out against, and so endure, bear, forbear; – it occurs only 4 times in the New Testament. All means any and every, good and bad. Believe in Greek is pisteuō which means to trust in Jesus or God as able to aid either in obtaining or in doing something; to have confidence; have faith; – it occurs 248 times in the New Testament. Hope in Greek is elpizō which means hopefully to trust in, wait for salvation with joy and full confidence; – it occurs 32 times in the New Testament. Endure in Greek is hypomenō which means to remain i.e. abide, not recede or flee; to preserve; under misfortunes and trials to hold fast to one’s faith in Christ; bear bravely and calmly; persevere; – it occurs 17 times in the New Testament. What does love do? Love bears, believes, hopes and endures all things.
13:8 , “Love never fails; as for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will vanish.”
Note: Fail in Greek is piptō which means to descend from a higher place to a lower, to fall down, to fall out, perish or be lost; fall into ruin; come to an end, disappear, cease; – it occurs 90 times in the New Testament. Pass away in Greek is katargeō which means to render idle, unemployed, inactivate, inoperative; to cause to cease, put an end to, do away with, annul, abolish; to cease, to be done away; terminate – it occurs 27 times in the New Testament. Cease in Greek is pauō which means to leave off, desist, come to an end; – it occurs 15 times in the New Testament. The word ‘vanish’in the original word is the same as ‘pass away.’ Knowledge will pass away too. Prophecies will pass away, tongues will cease, and knowledge will vanish; but love never fails.
13:9 , “For we know in part and we prophesy in part.”
Note: Know in Greek is ginōskō which means to learn to know, come to know, get a knowledge of, perceive, have knowledge of; – it occurs 223 times in the New Testament. In part in Greek is meros which means partly, in a measure, to some degree, as respects a part; – it occurs 43 times in the New Testament. Prophesy in Greek is prophēteuō which means to be a prophet, speak forth by divine inspirations, to predict; – it occurs 28 times in the New Testament. We can only know and prophesy in part. No one has complete knowledge of this world and the world to come. Human knowledge is limited. Human capacity to know and the gift to prophesy are also limited.
13:10, “But when the Perfect comes, the imperfect will pass away.”
Note: The perfect in Greek is teleios which means wanting nothing necessary to completeness, that which is perfect; – it occurs 19 times in the New Testament. Jesus Christ is the Perfect ONE. Imperfect in Greek is meros which means partial, incomplete; it occurs 43 times in the New Testament. Jesus Christ is the Perfect One, and the world and everything are imperfect. The perfect state of all things will be ushered in by the return of Jesus Christ from heaven.
13:11, “When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child; when I became a man, I put away childish ways.”
Note: Child in Greek is nēpios which means a minor, not of age; – it occurs 14 times in the New Testament. Speak in the original language is the same used in 1 Cr 13:1 . Think in Greek is phroneō which means to have understanding, to think or judge what one’s opinion is, to direct one’s mind to a thing, think of oneself; – it occurs 29 times in the New Testament. Reason in Greek is logizomai which means to consider, take into account, weigh, meditate on; to take into account, deliberate; – it occurs 41 times in the New Testament. Man in Greek is anēr which means with reference to age, and to distinguish an adult man from a boy; – it occurs 215 times in the New Testament. A child speaks, thinks, and reasons like a child. When a man speaks, thinks, and reasons like a child; he is a retard or mentally deficient. When a child speaks, thinks and reasons like a man; he is precocious or a genius. Put away in Greek is katargeō which means to render idle, unemployed, inactivate, inoperative; put an end to, do away with, annul, abolish, terminate; – it occurs 27 times in the New Testament. Childish in Greek is nēpios which means untaught, unskilled, immature; – it occurs 14 times in the New Testament. A man puts away childish things. It would not be proper for a 25-year old woman to play with dolls. It would not be normal for a 25-year old man to play with toy guns. Actually it is not good for children to play with toy guns. Guns are used to kill people. It is horrible for a child to have the concept of killing. A man must put away childish things.
1Co 13:12 , “For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; but then I will know fully just as I have been fully known.”
Note: See in Greek is blepō which means to perceive by the use of the eyes; to perceive by the senses, to discern mentally, observe, discover, understand; to consider, contemplate, to look at, to weigh carefully, examine; – it occurs 135 times in the New Testament. Dimly in Greek is ainigma which means darkly, partially, obscurely; – it occurs only once in the New Testament. Face to face means very near and clear. Now we see in a mirror dimly; the best of human perception or perspective is dim. The worst arrogance is the scientist who speaks of events he imagines billions and billions of years ago with absolute certainty. The first know in this verse in Greek is ginōskō which means to learn to know, come to know, get a knowledge of, perceive. The second know in Greek is epiginōskō which means to know thoroughly, know accurately, know well; – it occurs 42 times in the New Testament. The best of human knowledge now is ginōskō – superficial knowledge. When Jesus Christ returns, our knowledge will be epiginōskō – superb or perfect knowledge. Human knowledge is relative and tentative: an elementary pupil thinks he knows a lot; a high school student thinks he knows everything; but a university student knows he knows nothing. It is a laughingstock to compare human knowledge with divine knowledge.

Note: Abide in Greek is menō which means to remain, to continue to be, not to perish, to last, endure; – it occurs 120 times in the New Testament.
The prevalent Western values of money, power and sex do not last. In fact the Western values are nothing but money, power and sex. Democracy, freedom, human rights and justice are big lies. Money, power, and sex are infecting the whole world more dangerous and deadly than COVID-19. The Christian values are faith, hope, and love. Faith, hope and love abide. The greatest of these three is love.
1. God is love.
1Jo 4:8 ,“He who does not love does not know God; for God is love.”
Note: Love in Greek is agapē which means affection, good will, benevolence, charity, compassion; – it occurs 116 times in the New Testament. Love is divine nature. God is love. A Chinese hymn says God is love, and love is God. God is love is right, it is Scriptural. Love is God is false, it is un-Scriptural and paganish. I called this error to the attention of Chinese preachers, then I realized they did not want to correct this false teaching. They do not base their religious teaching ON or THROUGH the Word of God. There are people who worship the goddess of love. God is a consuming fire, but fire is not God. To say fire is God is pantheistic.
1Jo 4:16 ,“So we know and believe the love God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.”
Note: He who abides in love abides in God. It is not possible to abide in God and hate. For this reason, white supremacists do not know God for they want to conquer the world and practice hatred and malice toward other peoples. Terrorists do not know God because they mistake killing others for the sake of their religion is service to God. Murderers do not abide in God for they take the lives of people created in the image of God. The image of God means righteousness, holiness and goodness. Warmongers, supremacists, imperialists, militarists, greedy capitalists, hegemonists and terrorists are the enemies of God because they are full of hatred and ill will and malice.
Rom 5:8 ,“But God shows His love for us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.”
Note: Love must have proof. God shows or demonstrates His love for us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us. No one can hide true love, love shows itself. Love is self-evident.
2. Love is a powerful motive.
Gen 29:20 , “So Jacob served seven years for Rachel, and they seemed to him but a few days because of the love he had for her.”
Note: Serve in Hebrew is `abad which means to labor, work, do work, to make oneself a servant; – it occurs 290 times in the Old Testament. Love serves. If you love someone, you serve someone. Love in Hebrew is ‘ahabahwhich means human love for human object, God’s love to His people; – it occurs 40 times in the Old Testament. Jacob labored hard and long for Rachel, because of Jacob’s love for her, the seven long years seemed to him a few days. The power of love endures years of hard labor. If you dislike your job and your boss, a few days service may seem seven years.
Jdg 16:15, “Then she said to him: How can you say, I love you, when your heart is not with me? You have deceived me these three times and have not told me where your great strength is.”
Note: Love here in Hebrew is ‘ahab which means human love for another, includes family, and sexual. True, when you love a person, your heart is with him/her. But beware of Delilah; her kind of love is betrayal for money. Prostitutes do not have love, they only love money. Those who fall for adulterous women go to ruin and destruction.
1Sa 20:17, “Jonathan made David vow again because of his love for him, because he loved him as he loved his own life.”
Note: Jonathan’s love for David was more wonderful than a woman’s love. Jonathan’s love for David was as strong as Jacob’s love for Rachel although it was neither sexual nor homosexual. Jonathan loved David as he loved his own life. To save David from his father’s wrath, Jonathan was willing to sacrifice his own life. There was only one Jonathan in history, such a good man from such a wicked king. Why was Jonathan willing to sacrifice his life for David? At least for two reasons:
(A). Jonathan knew God wanted David to be king to replace his father; Jonathan wanted to do the will of God.
(B). Jonathan was very fond of David as a man, as a brother, and as a friend. If someone is willing to die for you, the love is true and great indeed.
Hbr 13:5 ,“Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have; for He has said: I will never fail you nor forsake you.”
Note: Those who are bound by the love of money cannot love God.
Phl 1:16 , “The latter do it out of love, knowing that I am put here for the defense of the Gospel.”
Note: To preach Christ and for the defense of the Gospel must do it out of love.
Phl 2:1, “So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any incentive of love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy.”
Note: Incentive of love is a powerful incentive; it gives strength in the labor of love and sharing in the suffering for Christ.
1Ti 6:10 , “For the love of money is the root of all evils; it is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced their hearts with many pangs.”
Note: The love of money is not compatible with the love of God. The love of money is the root cause of many evils in the world. The love of money, power and sex have corrupted Washington, Wall Street and Hollywood and the whole world.
1Jo 2:15 , “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If any one loves the world, love for the Father is not in him.”
Note: If you love the world or the things in the world, you do not have the love of God in you.
2Ti 1:7 , “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity but a spirit of power and love and self-control.”
Note: Those who have a spirit of power and love and self-control can do good and great things for the glory of God and benefit of mankind.
Hbr 6:10, “For God is not so unjust as to overlook your work and the love which you showed for His sake in serving the saints, as you still do.”
Note: Love is the motive for serving the saints, unlike those crooks in America and all over the world who do charity work to enrich themselves.
2Th 2:10 , “And with all wicked deception for those who are to perish, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.”
Note: Those who are to perish refuse to love the truth and so be saved. Liars do not love the truth. Corrupt people do not love the truth. Crooks and criminals do not love the truth. Evildoers do not love the truth. Warmongers and terrorists do not love the truth. Greedy capitalists and Wall Street executives do not love the truth. Terrorists do not love the truth; they believe in a lie after death to have many virgins as wives in paradise.
Hbr 10:24, “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works.”
Note: Love can stir up good people to do good works.
1Jo 4:18, “There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and he who fears is not perfected in love.”
Note: What a great truth: Perfect love casts out fear. There is no fear in love. No one fears the person who loves him/her.
Jam 1:12 , “Blessed is the man who endures trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life which God has promised to those who love Him.”
Note: God has promised the crown of life to those who love Him.
Jam 2:5 , “Listen, my beloved brethren. Has not God chosen those who are poor in the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the Kingdom which He has promised to those who love Him?”
Note: God has promised to those who love Him to be rich in the faith and heirs of the Kingdom of God.
3. God so loved the world.
Note: The Triune God expresses Himself in the love of God, the love of Christ and the love of the Spirit. God is Love that makes possible for the righteous and holy God to love sinners, the unlovable, the unworthy.
A. The love of God.
Jhn 3:16 , “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”
Note: There is no greater love than God’s love. God loves unworthy sinners that He gave His only begotten Son. God was willing to sacrifice Jesus Christ the Son of God on the cross in order to save mankind. Jesus Christ paid the ransom by His precious blood for the forgiveness of sins. Whoever believes in Jesus Christ will not perish in hell, but have eternal life in heave. This is a gift of God out His love.
Rom 5:5 , “And hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.”
Note: The only way you can experience and appreciate the love of God is that the Holy Spirit pours the love of God in your heart. If you do not have the Spirit of God in your heart, you cannot have the love of God.
Eph 2:4 , “But God, who is rich in mercy, out of the great love with which He loved us.”
Note: The love of God is great.
1Jo 4:10, “In this is love, not that we loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.”
Note: Propitiation in Greek is hilasmos which means an appeasing, propitiating, the means of appeasing; – it occurs only twice in the New Testament. Propitiation is the means of redemption to atone for our sins, the Righteous died for the unrighteous. The benefit of redemption is reconciliation of sinners with God. The reconciliation not only got rid of God’s anger and it brings salvation. Believers have passed from death (spiritual death and eternal death) to life, life eternal as children of God to inherit the Kingdom of God.
Rom 8:39 , “Nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Note: Separate in Greek is chōrizō which means to divide, part, put asunder, separate one’s self from, depart, divorce; – it occurs 13 times in the New Testament. Nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate or divorce us from the love of God in Christ Jesus. The love of God is the highest and deepest, and no one and nothing can divide us from the love of God.
Jhn 17:24 , “Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.”
Note: The relationship between the Father and the Son is too wonderful for man to understand. God loved the Son before the foundation of the world, before the universe began.
Jhn 17:26 , “I have made known to them Your name, and will make it known, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.”
Note: This is a great mystery, the love with which God loved the Son may be in believers, and Christ in them. We are like a little bottle in the vast ocean of God’s love. A little bottle is easily filled up with love, but the ocean of love is much more than what is filled up in a little bottle.
1Jo 4:19 , “We love, because he first loved us.”
Note: All our love is originated and proceeded from the love of God.
Rom 5:5, “And hope does not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit which has been given to us.”
Note: The love of God can only be poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit which is living in us.
2Cr 13:14 , “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.”
Note: The Triune God works together to save us as expressed in the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit.
Jud 1:21, “Keep yourselves in the love of God; wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.”
Note: To keep ourselves in the love of God we need the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit.
2Th 3:5, “Now may the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the patience of Christ.”
Note: Direct in Greek is kateuthynō which means to make straight, guide; – it occurs only 3 times in the New Testament. This may be a fresh truth to you: There are hindrances to the love of God. They may be the love of the world, the love of money, power and sex. Before you come to the love of God, the Lord has to remove the hindrances. Without the guidance of the Lord, no one can come to the love of God.
Jud 1:20-21, “But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting anxiously for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life.”
Question: How can we keep ourselves in the love of God?
By building yourselves up on the Word of God, praying in the Holy Spirit, and waiting anxiously for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life.
1Jo 4:9 , “By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him.”
Note: Manifest in Greek is phaneroō which means to make visible or known what has been hidden or unknown, to make known whether by words, or deeds, or in any other way; show; – it occurs 49 times in the New Testament. The love of God was manifested by sending His Son into the world to die for sinners so that we might live through Him.
B. The love of Christ.
Rom 8:35, “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?”
Note: The word ‘separate’ used in Rom 8:35 is the same original word used in Rom 8:39 . Tribulation, distress, persecution, famine, nakedness, peril or sword no matter how terrible cannot divide or divorce us from the love of Christ. There is nothing and no one can separate us from the love of Christ. Can you imagine the Son of God laid down His life to die on the cross for sinners?
2Cr 5:14 , “For the love of Christ controls us, because we are convinced that one has died for all; therefore all have died.”
Note: Control in Greek is synechō which means to hold together, hold together with constraint, hold completely, urge, impel; – it occurs 12 times in the New Testament. The love of Christ holds us tight so that we cannot fall away.
1Jo 3:16, “By this we know love, that He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.”
Note: By what we know the love of Christ? By the act Christ laid down His life for us. The love of Christ is most unusual and unfathomable and incomprehensible because He died on the cross for sinners. There are friends who died for friends, who are willing to die for sinners?
Eph 3:19 , “To know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.”
Note: Surpass in Greek is hyperballō which means to transcend, exceed, excel, throw over or beyond any thing; – it occurs only 5 times in the New Testament. The love of Christ is so wonderful that it surpasses knowledge, it transcends knowledge. To have the love of Christ is to be filled with all the fullness of God.
Phl 2:1 , “Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy.”
Note: Comfort in Greek is paramythion which means persuasive address, consolation; – it occurs only once in the New Testament. Do you know that love can talk to you persuasively and gives you comfort?
Question: How do we love our Lord Jesus Christ?
Eph 6:24 , “Grace be with all who love our Lord Jesus Christ in incorruption.”
Note: Love the Lord with incorruptible love. Incorruption in Greek is aphtharsia which means purity, sincerity, perpetuity, never diminishing; – it occurs 8 times in the New Testament. True love must be sincere, pure, loyal and perpetual.
1Ti 1:14 , “And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant, with faith and love which are in Christ Jesus.”
Note: Faith and love go together. In human affairs, you can believe in someone without loving him, but you cannot love someone without believing in him. In spiritual matters, you cannot believe in Christ without loving Him, you cannot love Christ without believing in Him.
1Th 1:3 , “Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the sight of our God and Father.”
Note: Labor in Greek is ergon which means that which one undertakes to do, enterprise, undertaking, act, deed, thing done; – it occurs 176 times in the New Testament. Labor of love is the course of conduct springs from faith in Christ. When you love Christ, you are willing to labor for Him to serve Him.
1Ti 1:14 ,“And the grace of our Lord was more than abundant, with the faith and love which are found in Christ Jesus.”
Note: Faith and love can only be found in Christ Jesus, not in the world.
C. The love of the Spirit.
Rom 15:30 , “I appeal to you, brethren, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to strive together with me in your prayers to God on my behalf.”
Note: Strive together in Greek is synagōnizomai which means to help one in striving, offer intense prayer with one; – it occurs only once in the New Testament. By the love of the Spirit we strive together in prayers to God so that the Gospel will be preached in all the world.
Question: The love of God, the love of Christ and the love of the Spirit – does it mean there are three kinds of love from the Triune God?
Note: No, not three kinds of love. There are three expressions or aspects of divine love. God is One, but God works in three ways. God the Creator created the universe. Jesus the Redeemer died to save sinners. The Holy Spirit the Sanctifier gives life to believers. Thus the love of God sent His Son to the world. The love of Christ laid down His life for the sheep. The love of the Spirit helps and guides believers and lives in them.
Phl 2:1-2 ,“Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion, make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose.”
Note: Believers are united in spirit, maintaining the same love, intent on one purpose – His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will.
4. You shall love your God.
Deu 6:5 , “And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.
Note: To love God is to have love for God. How to love God? Love the Lord with all our heart, and with all our soul, and with all our might. Heart is the seat of senses, affections, and emotions of the mind. Soul in Hebrews is nephesh which means self, life, mind, living being, desire, emotion, passion; – it occurs 753 times in the Old Testament. Man is a tripartite: body is material-consciousness, soul is self-consciousness, and spirit is God-consciousness. Might is Hebrew is m@`od which means force, strength of the highest degree; – it occurs 299 times in the Old Testament.
Jhn 14:15 , “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.”
Note: Jesus defines love by action. If you love Christ, you will keep His commandments. Warmongers, dictators, oppressors, militarists, supremacists, imperialists, capitalists, monopolists, and terrorists cannot claim to be Christians because they have no fear of God, no love of God, and they do not keep the commandments of Jesus Christ.
Jhn 14:21, “He who has My commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.”
Jhn 14:23-24, “Jesus answered him: If a man loves Me, he will keep My word, and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me.”
Note: To keep the commandments of Christ is to love Christ. He who loves Christ will be loved by the Father. He who does not keep the words of Christ does not love Him.
Jhn 15:9 , “As the Father has loved Me, so have I loved you; abide in My love.”
Jhn 15:10 , “If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.”
Note: To abide in God’s love we must keep God’s commandments. To abide in Christ’s love we must keep Christ’s commandments.
Jhn 21:15 -17，“When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter: Simon, son of John, do you love Me more than these? He said to Him: Yes, Lord; you know that I love You. He said to him: Feed My lambs. A second time he said to him: Simon, son of John, do you love Me? He said to Him: Yes, Lord; you know that I love You. He said to him: Tend My sheep.
He said to him the third time: Simon, son of John, do you love Me? Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time: Do you love Me? And he said to Him: Lord, You know everything; You know that I love You. Jesus said to him: Feed my sheep.”
Note: Yes, Jesus knows everything. Christians, do you love the Lord? To love the Lord is not empty word; it must be backed up by deed. What have you done for Jesus?
Luk 16:13, “No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.”
Note: In the West there are many believers who want to serve two masters. They say they love God at the same time they love the world. You cannot serve God and mammon.
Jhn 5:42 , “But I know that you have not the love of God within you.”
Note: The Lord knows whether you have the love of God within you or not. Western powers claim to be Christians and yet they attack, occupy and kill and rob peoples of many nations. There is no love of God within them.
Jhn 8:42 , “Jesus said to them: If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded and came forth from God; I came not of My own accord, but He sent Me.”
Note: Poor Jews, they claim God was their Father, and yet they still reject Jesus Christ the Messiah whom God sent to the world.
1Cr 16:22, “If any one has no love for the Lord, let him be a curse. Maranatha!”
Note: Love is an emotion that cannot be commanded, it can only love as a choice. If anyone, it includes you and me. If anyone has no love for the Lord, let him be accursed. Curse in Greek is anathema which means a person or thing doomed to destruction, a thing or person abominable and detestable, direst woe, execration; – it occurs only 6 times in the New Testament. Maranatha in Greek is maranatha which means our Lord comes or will come; – it occurs only once in the New Testament. Anyone who does not love the Lord is a curse in the context the Lord is coming. Because the Lord is coming, you must love the Lord.
Rom 8:28, “We know that in everything God works for good with those who love him, who are called according to his purpose.”
Note: This Scripture provides the most comforting truth. God works in everything for the good of those who love Him. This is wonderful, if you love the Lord, nothing or no one can harm you. Ah, you say an evildoer can kill you. Do not fear those who can kill your body. The worst thing can happen to a believer is death. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
1Cr 2:9, “But, as it is written: What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man conceived, what God has prepared for those who love Him.”
Note: Jesus said, Jhn 14:2-3 ,“In My Father’s house there are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.”
Note: I believe the Lord has long time ago finished preparation of the Paradise what no eye has seen, nor ear heard, not the heart of man conceived, what God has prepared for those who love Him. Don’t get the wrong idea because you love the Lord and so you are qualified to go to Heaven. You are only qualified by accepting and believing what the Lord had done for you on the cross. You are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. No, Peter is not in charge of the gate of Heaven. That is a lie promulgated by the Roman Catholicism. Probably a powerful angel or angels are in charge to let you in; for angels are the reapers.
Phm 1:5, “Because I hear of your love and of the faith which you have toward the Lord Jesus and all the saints.”
Note: Faith and love go together. If you have faith in the Lord, you will also love Jesus Christ and all the saints.
Rev 2:19 , “I know your works, your love and faith and service and patient endurance, and that your latter works exceed the first.”
Note: Works of love and faith and service and patient endurance must get better and better, exceeding the beginning.
1Jo 5:3 , “For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.”
Note: The love of God means keeping His commandments. Burdensome in Greek is barys which means heavy in weight, severe, stern, cruel, unsparing; – it occurs only 6 times in the New Testament. Some corporations and some supervisors impose most grievous burdens to their employees. Many employees have to work after office hours at home without extra pay seven days a week. This is illegal labor practice and wicked in the sight of God. God’s commandments are not burdensome. It is not burdensome to love God. It is often burdensome to love your spouse and family. Some friends like to take advantage of you. Some friend wasted thousands of hours of my life in consulting me about everything, even during dinner hours. Many people used people for their benefits under the name of friendship. False brothers and sisters want to be taken care of at your expense and time and effort all because they profess to be Christians as if you owe them something.
1Jo 2:5 ,“But whoever keeps His word, in Him truly love for God is perfected. By this we may be sure that we are in Him.”
Note: Christians are perfected in their love for God when they keep His word and commandments.
1Ti 4:12 , “Let no one despise your youth, but set the believers an example in speech and conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.”
Note: The servants of Christ set the believers an example in speech and conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.
1Ti 6:11, “But as for you, man of God, shun all this; aim at righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness.”
Note: Man of God aims at righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness.
5. Christians must love each other.
Jhn 13:34 , “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; even as I have loved you, that you also love one another.”
Jhn 13:35 , “By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
Note: Love is the thing that characterizes Christians and differentiates Christians from all others. Christians are believers who love God and Christ and love each other. It is most beautiful and wonderful for Christians to love one another. Oh, there are problems. White believers think they are superior, there arises ethnic churches. Chinese join Chinese churches, blacks join black churches, and Latinos belong to Latino churches. Race, class, and culture are hindrances for Christians to love each other. The weird thing is a white person who thinks he/she is a Christian simply because he/she is white. There goes the wrong idea of the white man religion.
Jhn 14:31, “But I do as the Father has commanded me, so that the world may know that I love the Father. Rise, let us go hence.”
Note: Do as God has commanded so that the world may know that you love God.
Jhn 15:12, “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.”
Note: To love God is much easier than to love man because God is perfect, but man is imperfect and unworthy.
Jhn 15:17, “This I command you, to love one another.”
Rom 12:9, “Let love be genuine; hate what is evil, hold fast to what is good.”
Note: The teaching of pseudo-Christianity to love everyone and everything is un-Biblical. Genuine love hates what is evil, holds fast to what is good. It is not genuine love to love evil, or hold fast to what is bad.
Imperialism and capitalism are bad; they are not compatible with Christianity.
Rom 12:10 , “Love one another with brotherly affection; outdo one another in showing honor.”
Note: Brotherly affection should be honorable. For a pastor to have homosexual intercourse with his male church members is not love, but lust and abominable in the sight of God.
Rom 13:8 , “Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.”
Note: If you expect others to love you so that you can borrow money without paying back, that is not love, it is a fraud. If you have love you do not want to owe anyone anything. Love fulfills the law.
1Cr 8:1 , “Now concerning food offered to idols: we know that all of us possess knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up.”
Note: Unbelieving scientists and scholars puff up because they think they have knowledge. Knowledge is power, not doing harm, but doing good. The imperialists use knowledge of nuclear weapons to blackmail other nations. Love builds up. Knowledge may destroy: Wall Street executives have knowledge of the market and so they created the economic and financial crisis beginning in 2008 to defraud and loot the world more than $50 trillion dollars. The government officials have knowledge of the law and so they practice corruption and abuse of power to enrich themselves. Have you noticed the greatest crooks and criminals such as corrupt and fraudulent doctors and hospital owners and Wall Street executives in America were very knowledgeable people educated at the ivory universities and trained in greed?
Rom 13:10, “Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.”
Note: Love is fulfilling of the law.
Rom 14:15 ,“If your brother is being injured by what you eat, you are no longer walking in love. Do not let what you eat cause the ruin of one for whom Christ died.”
Note: Do not let what you do cause the ruin of another.
2Cr 8:8 , “I say this not as a command, but to prove by the earnestness of others that your love also is genuine.”
Note: Love must be genuine; a phony love is useless and dangerous.
2Cr 8:24 ,“So give proof, before the churches, of your love and of our boasting about you to these men.”
Note: Love has proof. If a man says he loves you and wants to have sex with you, you know the proof of his love is fake, he loves only sex.
Gal 5:22-23 ,“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.”
Note: To love brothers in Christ is a fruit of the Spirit. Without the Spirit you cannot have the fruit of love.
Col 1:4 , “Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and the love which you have for all the saints.”
Note: Faith and love go together. If you have faith in Christ Jesus, naturally you will have love for all the saints.
Col 1:8, “And he also informed us of your love in the Spirit.”
Note: Not only the fruit of the Spirit is love, Christians love in the Spirit. To love in the Spirit is not to love in the flesh.
Col 2:2, “That their hearts may be encouraged, having been knit together in love, and attaining to all the wealth that comes from the full assurance of understanding, resulting in a true knowledge of God’s mystery, that is, Christ Himself.”
Note: The hearts of believers are knit together in love by the Holy Spirit. This can take place only in Christ. Remember your hearts cannot be knit together with others in love of money, power and sex. They are going to split and separate. Money, power and sex can only divide people.
1Th 4:9 , “But concerning love of the brethren you have no need to have any one write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love one another.”
Note: Through the Holy Spirit, God has taught His children to love one another.
1Th 4:10, “And indeed you do love all the brethren throughout Macedonia. But we exhort you, brethren, to do so more and more.”
Note: Love can increase; you can love more and more.
1Jo 3:14 , “We know that we have passed from death into life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love abides in death.”
Note: A born again believer loves the brothers. Warmongers and terrorists abide in death.
1Pe 2:17 , “Honor all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor.”
Note: If you fear God, you would love the brotherhood.
1Pe 3:8, “Finally, all of you, have unity of spirit, sympathy, love of the brethren, a tender heart and a humble mind.”
Note: The Church of Jesus Christ does not seek unity of organization, but unity of spirit, sympathy, love of the brethren, a tender heart and a humble mind. Those who love money, power and sex do not have a tender heart and a humble mind. Have you ever met the rich and powerful people who have a tender heart and a humble mind?
1Pe 4:8 ,“Above all hold fervent love for one another, since love covers a multitude of sins.”
Note: Fervent in Greek is ektenēs which means stretched out, intent, earnest, assiduous, without ceasing; – it occurs only twice in the New Testament. Love must be earnest, intent and without ceasing. Cover in Greek is kalyptōwhich means to hide, veil, hinder the knowledge of a thing; – it occurs 8 times in the New Testament. Sin in Greek is hamartia which means offense, violation, error, missing the mark; – it occurs 174 times in the New Testament. Love covers a multitude of sins. What does this mean? Does the Bible teach Christians should hide or cover up the sins or crimes of others? The fall of President Richard Nixon was not so much the fault of Watergate which was trivial, it was his cover-up. Not at all, Christians cannot cover up the sins or crimes of others. What it means here is, out of love Christians may disregard the sins or shortcomings of other brothers and sisters and not to impute them, but to pardon them. This interpretation corresponds to
Eph 4:2, “With all lowliness and meekness, with patience, forbearing one another in love.” Forbear in Greek is anechō which means to sustain, to bear, to endure, to tolerate, to bear with; – it occurs 15 times in the New Testament. Christians must bear with one another with all lowliness and meekness, with patience in love.
1Jo 3:23 ,“This is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us.”
Note: The commandment of God is that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another. Christ commands believers to love one another.
1Jo 4:11, “Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.”
Note: The love of God inspires believers to love one another.
Gal 5:6, “For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision is of any avail, but faith working through love.”
Note: In Christ the Jewish practice of circumcision and the Gentile practice of uncircumcision are of no avail. Circumcision or uncircumcision does not save you from sins. The important thing is to have faith working through love.
Gal 5:13, “For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love be servants of one another.”
Note: Love not only gives, love also serves. For Christians to love one another is to serve one another with love.
Gal 5:14 , “For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

Apparently warmongers and terrorists and Wall Street executives do not love their neighbors as themselves.
1Th 3:12, “And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love to one another and to all men, as we do to you.”

Ground in Greek is themelioō which means to lay the foundation, to found, make stable, establish; – it occurs only 6 times in the New Testament. As Christ dwells in our hearts through faith, we can be rooted and grounded in love.
Eph 4:15 , “Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ.”
Note: Truth can be offensive, so we need to speak the truth in love.
Eph 4:16, “From whom the whole body, joined and knit together by every joint with which it is supplied, when each part is working properly, makes bodily growth and building up itself in love.”
Note: The body of Christ is joined and knit together; each part is working properly, makes bodily growth and builds itself up in love. Building up in Greek is oikodomē which means edifying, edification; – it occurs 18 times in the New Testament. The church needs to build up itself in love.
Eph 5:2, “And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.”
Note: Walk in Greek is peripateō which means to conduct one’s self, regulate one’s life; – it occurs 96 times in the New Testament. To walk in love is to conduct oneself in love. Watch out false brothers who do not walk as they talk. The most outrageous thing is for warmongers, dictators, oppressors, violators, imperialists, capitalists, monopolists, militarists, and terrorists who talk about freedom, humanity, justice, democracy, law and order, human rights while they lie, lie, and lie; kill, kill, and kill; rob, rob, and rob.

Note: This Scripture tells the truth about perfect harmony. Love binds everything together in perfect harmony. This is the secret to have harmony in the church, in the family, and in marriage.

Note: Lovingkindness in Hebrew is checed which means goodness, kindness, faithfulness, favor, love, pity, mercy; – it occurs 248 times in the Old Testament. Jacob felt of God’s special love for him.
Gen 39:21, “But the LORD was with Joseph and extended kindness to him, and gave him favor in the sight of the chief jailer.”
Note: The Lord extended kindness to Joseph and gave him favor in the sight of the chief jailer.
Deu 3:24 , “O Lord GOD, You have begun to show Your servant Your greatness and Your strong hand; for what god is there in heaven or on earth who can do such works and mighty acts as Yours?”
Note: God had shown Moses His greatness and His strong hand in doing mighty acts.

7. Wrong idea about the love of God.
A false preacher and an enemy of the cross declared, “… and we want to let people know that God loves everyone, not to be afraid.” But Jesus says the opposite,
Mat 10:28 ,“Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Hell.”
Note: Fear in Greek is phobeō which means to be afraid, to be struck with fear, to be seized with alarm, to be terrified; – it occurs about 93 times in the New Testament.
(1). There are those who kill the body, such as murderer, warmonger, terrorist, evildoer, the wicked, etc.
(2). Those who kill the body are unable to kill the soul. No man, not even the devil, can kill your soul.
(3). Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul.
(4). God is able to destroy both soul and body in Hell.
(5). Yes, God is love; but those who do evil and reject Jesus Christ, God will destroy them both soul and body in Hell.
(6). Just as there is Heaven, there is also Hell. God prepared Hell for the devil and his followers.
(7). The punishment in Hell is eternal, just as the happiness in Heaven is also eternal.
(8). Mar 9:43, “If your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off; it is better for you to enter life crippled, than, having your two hands, to go into Hell, into the unquenchable fire.” The Hell fire in unquenchable.
Mar 9:48, “Where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.” Hell is the place where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched – where the punishment is eternal, body and soul.
(9). Mat 25:46 , “And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” The reason the punishment in hell is eternal because the wicked, unbelievers, and those who reject Christ will rise in the second resurrection to face the Great Judgment, they will have a kind of body and soul to feel pain and thirst, etc., but not consumed. They will die continuously and endlessly but not dead.
(10). For these reasons, homosexuals, gays, imperialists, capitalists, hegemonists, monopolists, supremacists, dictators, oppressors, corrupt politicians and officials, liars, idolators, terrorists, fraudulent doctors and hospital owners, and all unbelievers have a lot to fear God. Those who repent and believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior have nothing to fear.

God is Love. God is Light. God is Life. The Almighty God who loves also gives Light, the Light to know the truth. The Eternal Father who gives Light also gives Life. Whoever believes in the Son of God have life, eternal life.
So, do not be fooled by false preachers or fool
yourself. Fear God!
Accept the love of God by believing in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.
Obey Christ’s commandment to love the brotherhood, and eve to love your enemies.
The greatest love is the love of God that Jesus Christ died for sinners, the Righteous for the unrighteous.

For Palestinians do not have claim or resettlement right in the Jewish land of Gaza, West Bank, etc. No one would object for Palestinians to build a Palestinian state in lands of Arabs, but Palestinians cannot build a Palestinian state in the Jewish land. Palestinians prefer to be called refugees in order to receive international aid every thing for free. Palestinians must move out or be removed from the Jewish land. TERRORISTS HAMAS, Hezbollah and Houthis MUST be destroyed completely.
Some fools believe and practice martial arts, boxing, violence, sports such as foot ball to save impoverished and backward nations. The truth is only hard work, being good farmers, herdsmen, fishermen, teachnicians, repairmen, engineers can save poor, undeveloped and backward nations.
There has been undeclared war in the southern border between Mexico and America, which has been neglected by previous American administrations. Mexico flagrantly serves as the open conduit for illegal migrants to enter California and crossing the river to enter Texas. The US must bomb Mexico City to warn them there can not be business as usual; in particular Mexico rejected American airplanes which carried deported illegal migrants to land. America must use its powerful military and National Guards to patrol the borders 24 hours. Fire and shoot at unlawful migrants who climb the wall; who try to destroy the wall; who do graffiti on the wall; who congregate within 100 feet of the wall; who cross the river; who cut the wire to deter the invasion. America declares to REJECT all asylum applicants for 100 years. No humanitarian aid shall be given to any unlawful migrants. In addition to American troops, state National guards must also be used to end the unlawful migrants invasion of America. They are despicable and deplorable peoples who fail in their countries and dream of entering America to live happily and doing nothing on welfare. Immigration Officers must raid Los Angeles, East Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Santa Ana, San Diego, Miami, etc. — dens of illegal aliens; the Welfare Department has their names and addressees.
Palestinians are also useless, shameless and worthless peoples to loot and rob international aid trucks. They are violent and unproductive. Leaders and politicians of Palestinian Authority lead them to the path of destruction by illegally occupying the Jewish lands. IT is not known who polices the rampant international crooks and criminals who defraud the public by famous American universities and institutions who sell high-priced fake drugs such as to cure knee pain and prevent knee surgery and ear ringing, etc. Sweep clean fraudulent commercials on TV and the Internet.
6. Execute crooks and criminals who defraud in foreign nations and do not bring them home. Faces and names of deceivers must be published on TV to shame them and their families.

How to solve global hunger and poverty? There are nations and peoples who deserve to suffer hunger and poverty. It is laughable that a black politician made a statement on TV, “Africa cannot develop without fossil fuel.” What Africa does not have, can make long laundry list. Years ago when China was poor and did not have anything. Did America and Europe give aid? In fact to these days they are the biggest enemies of China, oppressors, trouble makers, diplomatic obstructionists and military aggressors. In America, the elderlies have to make a choice between taking a meal and medications. They cost $25 each; to have a meal they cannot afford to have medications. The electric bills are so high, even though they have heaters and air conditioners, they die in Summer and Winter. Every year I lectured at major Chinese universities and vacationed in China for 3 weeks when I worked for an American corporation. I noticed my electric bill did not go down even I was out of the country for 3 weeks. The female representative of Edison Power had the gall to say they do not charge customers by usage.
Africa has done nothing to deserve a large coverage by world media. Civil wars, conflicts and constant shortages should be ignored. Undeveloped nations have no hope because of their corrupt leaders and politicians, their peoples are lazy and unproductive. They glorify tribalism, barbarianism and primitive behavior. They dislike work, like games and sports although sports produce nothing. They have civil wars, conflicts, tensions, gangs and terrorists, violence, man-made and natural disasters. They eat and get fat, sing and dance, drink beer and have sex, produce so many unwanted children they cannot support. These useless, ugly, immoral and unworthy peoples do not deserve any humanitarian aid. Ten or more years from now they will get worse and worse.

I propose the world to impose a moratorium of 20 years on the undeveloped, unproductive, insufficient and useless nations. No matter what internal conflict and tensions, civil war and war with neighbors, coups d’etat, famine, drought, or man-made disasters, the international community will not interfere. Moratorium means no communication, no diplomacy and no aid in whatever form. After 20-year of burning themselves out, many nations will vanish, and those who do well will survive. That is when the international community can help those nations who really want to become decent and respectable and responsible nations.

ON September 3, 2025 for China to mark 80th anniversary of victory over Japanese aggression and fascism is a historical necessity and hard-earned victory. Even today Japanese government and leaders do not admit and repent of their war crimes, they worship executed war criminals as their national heroes and living gods. Japan never apologizes and pays compensation for killing 35 million Chinese, made hundreds of thousands sex slaves, millions of labor slaves and untold atrocities. Never again will China be oppressed. I am sure the militant Japan is deterred, but America is on the wrong side of history. Thank God it did not rain.
