THE TREASURES OF CHINA

This is not a Biblical or Christian subject. You may ask what is wrong with me? I shall explain to you how I feel as an old dying man who is a Christian by grace, a Chinese by race, and American by nationality. As a Christian I have done most of the work, I shall engage in the ministry of the Word until I die. As an American I have done all I have done, trying to warn Americans going the wrong way and trying to save America from committing suicide. As a Chinese I had been contributing as a professor hired by the Chinese Ministry of Education, and lectured at some major universities over the years. I think the Open Letter to President Bush published by China Daily has reached more students than anything I had written, it was even carried by UC Berkeley.

I wrote an article called The Incomparable Jesus which is deemed the most important work of my website

https://williewongthought.hpage.com/the-incomparable-jesus.html

It took me 3 days and 3 nights to translate it into Chinese all because I did not learn the Chinese pinging and had not learned to write Chinese. I decided it was too hard and not to engage in translation again.

Furthermore, before too long, I shall publish an article showing how to write Chinese in alphabetical manner.

Now what I am to propose is not for poor foreign travelers OR overseas Chinese who have no means. Travel is not for poor people. The world has never been fair.

You do not need to fly first class, but you need to stay at first class (5-star hotel). I propose you stay 7 days in Beijing, 5 days in Kanas Lake (Xinjiang), 5 days in Xian, 7 days in Hangzhou, 3 days in Jiuzhaigou, 7 days in Shanghai, and 4 days in Guangzhou. A poor man or woman certainly cannot afford a 38-day trip. Once you take the trip as I suggested, you will never forget or regret, and convinced it is worth all the money you spend.

There are important reasons that I write the Treasures of China.

2Pe 3:10-14, “But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be BURNED up.

Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, what sort of people ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be destroyed by burning, and the elements will melt with intense heat!

But according to His promise we are looking for

New Heavens and a New Earth, in which righteousness dwells. Therefore, beloved, since you look for these things, be diligent to be found spotless

and blameless by Him, at peace.”

Pulpit Commentary

Verse 10. – But the day of the Lord will come. The word ἥξει, will come, stands emphatically at the beginning of the clause; whatever the mockers may say, whatever may happen, come certainly will the day of the Lord. “The day of the Lord” meets us often in the prophets; it is usually associated with the thought of judgment (see Isaiah 2:12Ezekiel 13:5Joel 1:15Malachi 3:2). In the New Testament it signifies the second advent of Christ (1 Thessalonians 5:21 Corinthians 1:8Philippians 1:62 Thessalonians 2:2). As a thief in the night. The best manuscripts omit here “in the night.” St. Peter is evidently echoing the Lord’s words in that great prophetic discourse on the Mount of Olives, which must have made such a deep impression upon the apostles. This illustration of the sudden coming of the thief is repeated not only by St. Peter here, but also by St. Paul (1 Thessalonians 5:2), and twice by St. John (Revelation 3:3 and Revelation 16:15). In the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise. The Greek for “with a great noise (ῤοιζηδόν)” occurs nowhere else in the New Testament, and is one of those remarkable poetic forms which are not unfrequent in this Epistle: the noun ῤοῖζος is used of the whizzing of arrows, of the rush of wings, of the sound of mighty winds or roaring waters. It may be understood here of the crash of a falling world or of the roar of the destroying flames. The word rendered “pass away” is that used by our Lord in the prophecy just referred to (Matthew 24:35; also in Matthew 5:18 and in Luke 16:17). And the elements shall melt with fervent heat. It is uncertain whether by “the elements” (στοιχεῖα) St. Peter means the four elements (in the old and popular use of the word), or the great constituent parts of the universe, the heavenly bodies. Against the first view is the assertion that one of those elements is to be the agent of destruction. But the word rendered “melt” means “shall be dissolved” or “loosed;” and it may be, as Bishop Wordsworth says, that “St. Peter’s meaning seems to be that the στοιχεῖα, elements or rudiments, of which the universe is composed and compacted, will be loosed; that is, the framework of the world will be disorganized; and this is the sense of στοιχεῖα in the LXX. (Wisd. 7:17 Wisd. 19:17) and in Hippolytus, ‘Philos.,’ pages 219, 318. The dissolution is contrasted with the consistency described by the word συνεστῶσα in verse 5. The heavens are reserved for fire, and will pass away with a rushing noise, and, being set on fire, will be dissolved; the elements will be on fire and melt, and he reduced to a state of confusion; the earth and the works therein will be burnt up. There does not seem, therefore, to be any cause for abandoning the common meaning of στοιχεῖα, the elemental principles of which the universe is made.” On the other hand, the word στοιχεῖα is certainly used of the heavenly bodies by Justin Martyr (‘Apolog.,’ 2. c. 5, and ‘Dial. cum Tryphon,’ c. 23); and the heavenly bodies are constantly mentioned in the descriptions of the awful convulsions of the great day (Matthew 24:29Mark 13:24Luke 21:25Acts 2:20Revelation 6:12, etc.). The objection that the word does not bear this meaning elsewhere in Holy Scripture is of little weight, as this is the only place in which it has a physical sense. The literal translation of the clause is, “The elements, being scorched, shall be dissolved.” The word for “being scorched” (καυσούμενα) occurs in the New Testament only here and in verse 12; it is used by the Greek physicians of the burning heat of fever. The verb λυθήσεται means “shall be dissolved or loosened.” The earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. By “the works that are therein” St. Peter seems to mean all the works both of God and of man, “opera naturae et artis” (Bengel). There is a very remarkable reading here (supported by the Sinaitic and Vatican and another uncial manuscript), εὑρεθήσεται, “shall be discovered,” instead of κατακαήσεται, “shall be burned up.” If we understand “the works that are therein” of man’s works and actions, this reading will give a good sense (comp. 1 Corinthians 3:13, “Every man’s work shall be made manifest, for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work, of what sort it is”). Or the clause may be regarded as interrogative, “Shall the earth and the works that are therein be found?” But the reading, “shall be burned up” is well supported, and suits the context best. 2 Peter 3:10”

This is one of the many self-evident examples of the stupidity of foolish theologians who propagate false interpretations of the Scriptures.

By elements I believe THEY are chemical elements such as iron, copper, gold, lead, etc. I don’t agree with the interpretation of the four elements of air, water, fire, and earth–in the first place, how air, water, fire, and earth are melted?

The time is coming, not only the Treasures of China will be burned up, the whole world will be burned up, and all the elements will be melted because of intense heat. Come and see China’s treasures while you can!

Beijing

7 days in Bejing you must see the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, the Palace Museum, the Temple of Heaven, Tienanmen Square, Yiheyuan (Summer Palace)Galaxy SOHO, etc.

The Great Wall

Forbidden City-The Palace Museum

Summer Palace (Yiheyuan)

Having travelled all over the world, there is no one single structure more beautiful than the Temple of Heaven.

Kanas Lake

5 days in Kanas Lake (Xinjiang), you must see Kanas Lake & Xinjiang Kanas National Geopark – the Private Garden of God

I believe Kanas Lake is natural beauty and the national treasure of China. You have to see and experience for yourself. The air is fresher than those of Norway. The river is like the River of Life.

Xian

5 days in Xian must include Paying a Visit to the Terracotta Warriors. Let the enemies of China beware of the spirit of Terracotta Warriors. Even though they may be able to kill 1 billion Chinese mainland, there will still be 400 million overseas Chinese warriors like Terracotta Warriors.

The Terracotta Warriors are artificial beauty the national treasures of China.

Hangzhou

7 days in Hangzhou, I recommend to say at Wanghu Hotel, and order Beggar’s Chicken in advance. I have been to Hangzhou more times than Chairman Mao had. Wanghu Hotel is a walking distance from West Lake. Of all the cities in the world, may I tell you I love Hangzhou the best, and West Lake the best. I have been to Hangzhou in four seasons.

Take a Seat in Round-the-Lake Sightseeing Golf Cart

Evening Bell at Nanping Hill – Chinese: 南屏晚钟

Curved Yard and Lotus Pool in Summer – Chinese: 曲院风荷

Orioles Singing in the Willows – Chinese: 柳浪闻莺

Spring Dawn at Su Causeway – Chinese: 苏提春晓

Viewing Fish at Flower Harbor – Chinese: 花港观鱼

I have borrowed from the Internet some beautiful pictures of West Lake, Hangzhou to convince you why I love Hangzhou best.

West Lake, Hangzhou is both artificial and natural beauty of China, the national treasures of China. Beggar’s Chicken and Hangzhou Cuisine are Chinese national treasures that you will discover.

Jiuzhaigou

JIUZHAIGOU is a natural beauty and the national treasure of China. When you see it, you will know it.

Shanghai

I have lived in Shanghai more than 20 years, so you know I know what I am talking about. I want to assure you the Shanghai Oriental Pearl Tower is better than Seattle’s Needle Tower or Paris Eiffel Tower, because I have been to the three towers, so I am qualified to compare and comment.

You surely want to see the 上海博物馆

Shanghai Museum.

Because most of the Treasures of China are on display are there. The treasures of China I refer to are China National Treasures of antiques or precious porcelains OR china of Ming and Qing dynasties. I want you to spend days on the Third Floor of Ceramics Gallery. Here you will witness the master handicrafts men of Sung, Ming and Qing dynasties produce inestimable, invaluable and priceless treasures of China. By their handiwork they created treasures and riches for China. According to

https://www.shanghaimuseum.net/mu/frontend/pg/en/..

Shanghai Museum is one of the most important

ancient Chinese art museums in the world, with a

collection of 140,000 national treasures

Unlike the British Museum,  Louvre Museum Paris, France, Smithsonian Institutions and Japanese palace museums, etc. who robbed and looted China national treasures by force. In Shanghai Museum there is not one piece looted or robbed or stolen foreign national treasure. The treasures of China you can personally witness their beauty, loveliness, excellent forms and appearances, skills, attractive qualities, gorgeousness and matchlessness. Looking at those antiques and national treasures, you wonder there are such beautiful things in the world.

Oriental Pearl Tower

Shanghai Museum with China’s antiques and precious porcelains and the Oriental Pearl Tower are artificial beauties and the national Chinese treasures. There is no place where you can see and experience so much Chines treasures at one place in terms of Chinese antiques and priceless porcelains. Once you have seen them, you will never forget as long as you live.

I have been and saw the Taipei Palace Museum myself.  Years ago Chiang Kai Sheck moved the Chinese Treasures from the mainland to Taiwan as Kuo Ming Tang regime fled.  The Taipei Palace Museum housed the priceless Chinese Treasures worth more than the current market value of

US$100,000 trillion dollars. They do not belong to Taiwan. They belong to China and Chinese people. They must be returned to China unconditionally.

Guangzhou

In Beijing you must not miss eating Peking Duck. In Guangzhou you can eat anything is delicious because Cantonese cuisine is number one in the world. However, you must not miss Barbecue Piglet with sweet-sour sauce.

Guangzhou is China’s national treasure in many ways, and it was the first city touched by foreign influence. Cantonese cuisine and Dim Sum are well-known all over the world, you must not miss them.

In summary, according to the Word of God,

1Co 7:31, “and those who use the world, as though they did not make full use of it; for the present form of this world is passing away.”

Not only China is passing away. America is passing away. Japan is passing away. The present form of this world is passing away. The end of the world is near.

Without God, there is no hope for the world.

But for Christians or the saints, “But according to His promise we are looking for New Heavens and a

New Earth, in which righteousness dwells. Therefore, beloved, since you look for these things, be diligent to be found spotless and blameless by Him, at peace.”

If you repent of your sins and believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and the Savior of the world, you can inherit and look for New Heavens and a New Earth, in which righteousness dwells. As Christians or Saints, you look for these things, be diligent to be found spotless and blameless by Jesus Christ, the coming Judge of the living and dead, at peace.

You can come to Jesus now, for today is the day of salvation; and tomorrow may be too late.

Will you come now so that you may inherit the Kingdom of Heaven.

To receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior is to receive the eternal life.
